Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] 2 SB and one PC playing in sync
A couple of questions. Are you running SqueezePlay on the PC? What version? Are you running SqueezeBoxServer on the PC or do you want to sync MySqueezebox? If it's the latter I believe you are out of luck, but with SBS and Squeezeplay (an up to date build) I think this is quite easy. Are both of your SB's Radio's? In which case start playing SqueezePlay then go to the Synchronise menu on the SBR and chose to syncronise with SqueezePlay. If that confuses you I can break it down even further for you. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] I hate updates
Hi Jean, I think this is caused by the imminent release of SBS 7.5.0. The Touch is released today (we believe) and so SBS is being upgraded to 7.5.0. I would guess MySqueezebox.com is still on 7.4.1. The radio is getting confused about which version to use. Hopefully it will be resolved today when MSB.com switches to 7.5.0 and your radio will upgrade to the 7.5.0 firmware. You will have to install the applets again when this happens but once you do then you shouldn't have to install them again as 7.5.0 does this automatically now, HTH CW -- Chunkywizard *Squeezebox:* Boom x2 (Lounge and Office), Radio (with battery) *Server:* 7.5.0 for Windows Home Server (HP EX-490 MediaSmart Server) *Plugins:* Dynamic Playlists 2.8.1 | SQL Playlist 2.5 | Music Information Screen 4.4.6 | Custom Scan 2.7.4 | TrackStat 2.10 | Album Review 2.9.0 | Biography 2.9.0 *Remote:* iPod Touch Gen. 1 running 'iPeng' (http://penguinlovesmusic.de/2008/11/25/ipeng-application-now-on-app-store/) *Music: *'Last.fm' (http://www.last.fm/user/chunkywizard) Chunkywizard's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=25868 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76899 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

[SlimDevices: Radio] Details from previous track are displayed
Hi there, I have had a bug a couple of times where the details for the previous track are displayed. Eg. Track1 plays, and the display is correct Track2 plays, displays art and details for track1 Track3 plays, displays art and details for track2 etc. It is currently happening on my radio and I managed to see a bit more info. At the end of Track1 I lost Wireless signal (I saw the Blue icon). This then went white and the radio went to play track2 but the display didn't update. The other thing that may effect this is I was fiddling with my settings and a change in the iTunes tab caused a partial rescan. This was happening/ may have just finished when the wireless signal was lost. If I restart the dynamic playlist I am running then the problem is cleared. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] SqueezeBox Radio battery kit avalible
+1, I'm in the UK also. As an aside what I don't get is why the official battery is delayed. IIRC AndyG said they are stockpiled waiting on 7.4.2 to be released. Then the website say 31st March (which isn't in line with the 7.4.2 timescales that have been hinted at ie days - weeks). If 7.4.2 was really needed wouldn't someone from Logitech speak up on a thread like this and warn of the risks of using batteries on 7.4.1? I'm perplexed. I would buy an official battery tomorrow (even at the inflated price) but a 2 month wait makes the DIY route very appealing. Freescale iMX25 and MX35 can both support upto 256MB of DDR2 per chip select and they have 2, ie 512MB (at 266MHz), so the RAM size is obviously down to costs and needs. I have setup the Last.fm app with my username and password, set scrobbling to on and enabled it on all players. I also enabled the last.fm plug-in on SBS (is this needed?). Anyway, I am currently playing my recommended station via the SBR and I get no reports of the played tracks via the last.fm website or in the My Recent Track in the SBR menu. However I just hit 'Love This Track' on the Radio and it appeared on the website, so there is communication there. Also playback via SBS is not being recorded either. Any ideas? I rebooted my server to see if that helped, but it's still the same CW -- Chunkywizard *Squeezebox:* Boom x2 (Lounge and Kitchen), Radio *Server:* 7.4.2 for Windows Home Server (HP EX-475 MediaSmart Server with 2GB RAM upgrade) *Plugins:* Dynamic Playlists 2.8.1 | SQL Playlist 2.5 | Music Information Screen 4.4.5 | Custom Scan 2.7.4 | TrackStat 2.10 *Remote:* iPod Touch Gen. 1 running 'iPeng' (http://penguinlovesmusic.de/2008/11/25/ipeng-application-now-on-app-store/) Chunkywizard's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=25868 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74215 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Title Format on Radio
To explain a bit further. You need to install a plugin as well as the applet. Go to Squeezebox Server on your PC, then go to Settings, then to Plug-Ins. Find Information Screen and Install it. After a reboot you will see it listed under Plug Ins. Then go to it's settings and the configuration is done there. If you have any issues after this point then go to: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67422 and post, o.k.? Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] SB Radio or Boom?
I have 2 Booms and a Radio. Personally, the Boom sound better, but the Radio is still very good. The radio display is nicer IMO, but much harder to read at distance, so that might make a difference. When the battery is here the radio will come into it's own. It's much lighter than the Boom and has a carry handle so if portability is high on the list then go for a Radio. As far as robustness then the Radio is stable for me (but I'm not using mySB.com which has had issues, or Alarms which again have issues but are being fixed at a rate of knots). Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Clock Kerning/Centering
Hi erland, thanks (again). I have custom clock helper installed and am trying to work out how to use it. It looks like item1 is meant for the time and it will always be centred in height on the screen, correct? The margin will allow movement to the right. How do you change the size/font of the text? I see no settings for that. Also item2 and 3 have a position. Is this a height on the screen (y dimension)? Combined with a margin (x dimension) I guess this allows you to put the text anyway. On the standard radio clock you have the time centred (but a smaller size) and then at the bottom you have day date and month. As I see it this is 3 more items to place one of which needs to be a different size font. On the custom clock applet you only have 3 items max. So can I really recreate the standard clock (but with the nicer number spacing) with the custom clock applet? Your help is appreciated. If I get to the bottom of this then obviously I will share what I create. Cheers CW p.s. [SlimDevices: Radio] Clock Kerning/Centering
Hi there anyone else noticed the standard clock looks a bit weird? It's as though each character takes a fixed width. It's fine when you have wide characters eg 3:45 but at 4:15 there is too wider gap between the 1 and the 5. Also centering is off when you have times before 10:00 (ie 3 numbers). Is the clock done like this for a reason? The clock on the Boom by comparison is implemented much better IMO with variable spacing. I know erland's Information Screen can replace the clock but as far as I know that can't replicate the PM text and different size fonts of the date from the original clock (which I like). Anyone any input if there is anything I can do? Or do I grin and bear it? Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] You are using a half-duplex hub...
Hi Peter my thoughts entirely! If the homeplug works with the Boom it should work with the radio IMO. I have sort of proved it's the multiport switch causing the issue as if I use a single port homeplug it works fine. The error message really does make me think half duplex connections are not supported on the radio so support will just say, use a full duplex switch. However that's not the point, IMO half duplex should be supported (as it's adequate enough AFAIK) I'll call support and let you know what they say but it would be good to get an exlanation from one of the designers. Maybe it's just to driver needing updating?
