Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Line in only plays left channel
Definitely a problem with the line-in plug connection. If I jiggle it just right I lose all audio, but no amount of jiggling will play the right channel. Sent a support ticket in (after waiting 20 minutes on hold for phone support before hanging up). I had a problem with the power cord on this same Radio. [SlimDevices: Radio] Line in only plays left channel
I just discovered that my black Radio is only playing the left channel (mono) when using the line-in input. My white Radio plays both channels merged through the line-in, as it should. I checked the player settings for audio in LMS and it is set to play both channels. I still need to check if it's just the line-in or all sources, but my husband is using it right now. He has already tried different cords. Is there anything else I should check before I open a ticket with Logitech support? This is the Radio I received for beta testing so don't even know if they will do anything for me. Has anyone else had this problem? (Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk. Please pardon any typos!) Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Permanent sleep function?
Not a huge shortcut, but you can add the sleep option to the home menu and then it's less steps to get to it. Browse to the option you want to add and then press the + button and you can choose to put it on the home menu. This was added pretty recently so if you are using an older server version you may need to update to get this. I was getting ready to take my black SB Radio to show my maw-in-law. She is mega-technophobic so I wanted to make it as simple as possible for her. I was planning to connect to mysb.com before heading there tomorrow and get things set up for the demo in advance. When I go to "Connect to mysqueezebox.com, though, I just get the bump animation and it doesn't do anything. I seem recall having this problem before with this Radio and never figured it out. On my white Radio (newer) it connects just fine. I can also connect the black Radio to mysb.com using iPeng, so I have plenty of workarounds. If I can't figure out the problem with the black Radio tonight I will just bring the white one to show her. I just would prefer to bring the black one because it already has more wear. Anyone have any quickie suggestions short of factory reset? I'll do a reset when I get home if nothing else works, but I don't want to deal with it tonight when we are leaving in 11 hours. -- MeSue SUE 1 Touch | 2 Booms | 2 Radios | 1 Duet | 1 SB2 HP MediaSmart EX470 | Logitech Media Server 7.7.1 | iPod Touch & iPad w/ iPeng Find me on 'Last.FM' (http://www.last.fm/user/MeSue) | 'Twitter' (http://twitter.com/suechastain) | 'Rhapsody' (http://www.rhapsody.com/members/mesue) -*Logitech! [SlimDevices: Radio] RadioIO Pricing
I got my first Squeezebox more then 6 years ago, and I just got around to checking out RadioIO last night. First impression... great stations, awful commercials! So I checked out their site today to see what prices were like for ad-free. Does anyone else think their prices are way too high? Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] synch problems with the SB Radio?
I have 2 Booms, a Radio and a Touch that I usually keep sync'd all the time. Most of the time I play them one at a time and keep them sync'd to keep the playlist the same as I go from room to room, but often I have issues with sync when adding the Radio or Touch into the mix. My feeling, after having dealt with it for several months now, is that the problems usually occur when I have one or more of the Booms playing first and then turn on a Radio or Touch. If the Radio or Touch is playing and then I turn on the Booms after them, I don't have a problem. It hasn't been consistent enough for me to file a bug report on this yet, so it would be good to hear if others find the same thing. -- MeSue SUE 1 Duet | 2 Booms | 1 Radio | 1 Touch (beta) | 1 SB2 HP MediaSmart EX470 | Squeezebox Server 7.4 | iPod Touch w/ iPeng Find me on 'Last.FM' (http://www.last.fm/user/MeSue) | 'Twitter' (http://twitter.com/suechastain) MeSue's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=985 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74971 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

It goes very dim in a dark room. If you turn the knob or touch any buttons, it will light up so you can read the screen and then go back to dim after a short time. If you want it completely dark, you can set "off" mode to screen off. I'm pretty sure that in this case turning the knob would not turn on the screen. I think this part of the instructions is wrong if you have a now playing list with only one item in it, like a radio station in the case of the OP. When you only have one item in now playing, there is no way to get to the now playing "list," so you can't save it as a playlist. The auto-switching between mysb.com and SBS is so new, I don't think anyone really understands what's normal, and it hasn't been explained very well from the devs. I keep a server running 24/7 so I rarely switch, myself--I just use the music services through my SBS. I had it around 80 when I showered in the morning. Average when I was outside was 60-70. I did put it up to 90 for a bit. I used it inside for the majority of the time and volume was between 30-60. It was local music. I need to do another yard test with internet radio. It took 6-7 hours to fully charge last night, but it was playing for part of that time. Not sure if playing while plugged in would slow down the charging. -- MeSue SUE 1 Duet | 2 Booms | 1 Radio (beta) | 1 Touch (beta) | 1 SB2 HP MediaSmart EX470 | Squeezebox Server 7.4 Find me on 'Last.FM' (http://www.last.fm/user/MeSue) | 'Twitter' (http://twitter.com/suechastain) MeSue's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=985 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68100 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Battery and wifi performance of Radio
The battery is about 1.5 x 2 x 3 inches, going from memory. It's charging now so I don't want to take it out to measure. As far as the weight... I am really bad at judging that. It definitely weighs less than the Boom even with battery and is much easier to carry compared to the Boom. -- MeSue SUE 1 Duet | 2 Booms | 1 Radio (beta) | 1 Touch (beta) | 1 SB2 HP MediaSmart EX470 | Squeezebox Server 7.4 Find me on 'Last.FM' (http://www.last.fm/user/MeSue) | 'Twitter' (http://twitter.com/suechastain) MeSue's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=985 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68100 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

[SlimDevices: Radio] Battery and wifi performance of Radio
I'm one of the lucky few non-employee beta testers to have received a coveted Squeezebox Radio with a battery. I've been testing it out on battery all day and have been quite impressed. I started charging it last night around 5:30 PM, and when I checked it around 10 it was fully charged. (Since I don't know how charged the battery was on arrtival, I can't be sure of the total charge time from a fully dead battery. I should know soon though.) I played it on battery for a total of almost 11 hours between last night and today before it turned off. I also walked all around my property testing the wifi signal. This is not your typical neighboorhood--I think the yard part of our property is about 3/4 an acre--and I never lost the music even when I got as low as 5% signal strength. The only time I did get a drop out on my whole property was when I walked to the other side of a large metal building. I was expecting a drop then, but it recovered nicely as soon as I walked back out from behind the metal building. I also took it out to another building on our property on the opposite side of the house from where the router is and it played on just fine with 40% signal strength. Also got to test the ambient light sensor in the bedroom last night. Caleb's not kidding--it can go VERY dim! And I never dropped it! -- MeSue SUE 1 Duet | 2 Booms | 1 Radio (beta) | 1 Touch (beta) | 1 SB2 HP MediaSmart EX470 | Squeezebox Server 7.4 Find me on 'Last.FM' (http://www.last.fm/user/MeSue) | 'Twitter' (http://twitter.com/suechastain) MeSue's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=985 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68100 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

I have carried my Boom in and out to the pool for two summers now and *only* dropped it twice. Both times I caught it against the little platform where I put it, so there was no serious damage, just a scratch on the back of one (now mounted in the kitchen), and a slightly dented grill on the other. :( Actually, both times I dropped it, it was not while carrying, but when repositioning it to put it up on the platform where I have to plug it in. I haven't tried the Radio poolside yet, but I don't think it will be loud enough to compete with the filter pump and the color screen would probably be harder to read. -- MeSue SUE 1 Duet | 2 Booms | 1 Radio (beta) | 1 Touch (beta) | 1 SB2 HP MediaSmart EX470 | Squeezebox Server 7.4 Find me on 'Last.FM' (http://www.last.fm/user/MeSue) | 'Twitter' (http://twitter.com/suechastain) MeSue's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=985 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=67801 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Amazon movie about "radio": Says I can listen to my music collection "without a PC"?
I can't say anything about the MP3locker service as I've never used it. For now, if I want to listen to my music without my computer on, I just tune in to "My Radio Station" via last.fm. It only lets you listen radio-style (random mix), but that is good enough for me for the rare times my server is down or I take my Squeezebox on a trip. If Logitech could get together with Lala.com it would be awesome. Lala lets you match up your local music to the music in their library so you can stream it via the web. If you want something on lala that doesn't match up, you can upload it, but I just use the matching because my upload speed is so slow. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Amazon movie about "radio": Says I can listen to my music collection "without a PC"?
The Radio works pretty much just like the Duet. If you already run a Squeezebox server for your local MP3s, the Radio can use that. For those that prefer not to have a computer on all the time there is SqueezeNetwork (changing name to mysqueezebox.com) for Internet radio and music services. One of the services is MP3locker, which allows you to upload your ripped CDs and still listen to them without a computer on. To answer your question #2, yes. Any Squeezebox can play separate music or they can be synchronized to play all the same music.
