For sale is my Rivendell Simple one.  I am including a link to the 
Craigslist posting I created.  If you are interested please feel free to 
PM, call or txt me.  A few notes not included in the listing for the 
Bunch's eyes only.  If you are interested in shipping please let me know.  
I am reluctant but willing to ship as long as you are willing to cover all 
costs associated with shipping, so a likely 50$ to be boxed up by LBS and 
around 150ish or so just a guess shipping charge sorry shipping stinks and 
has become kinda expensive.  Also if you are not interested in say the bars 
stem, pedals, (perhaps you have your own favorite setup), mini rack basket, 
cheaper seat post perhaps I still have the original kalloy, let me know I 
am willing to be a BIT flexible with removing some of the parts and 
reducing the price, just a bit as in basically the parts listed :).

[RBW] for sale 56 Rambouillet, green with nice parts

i listed my slightly too large for me Rambouillet on the Seattle Craigslist 
today.
It has nice parts including  SKF BB and Wipperman stainless chain, you get 
the idea
the drivetrain and most of the parts are brand new top of the line Riv type 
build
there is a photo with the craigslist ad
I will throw in a Nitto rear touring rack new in the packaging which I 
bought off the list for 140 
since chances of getting burned off this list are low
I was only able to upload the one photo to craigslist i could probably do 
better in email

[RBW] For Sale 2 bikes (sort of)

So, I have decided that I cannot part with my late wife's Betty Foy which 
means its destined to become my commuter after a repaint and modifications, 
which means I have to sell one of my two beloved bikes in order to fund its 
rebuild.  

One is being set up as a longdistance hill climber, the other is set up as 
a speedy commuter, but can easily b modified. In the spirit of a past post, 
I'll sell one and keep the other.

Marks Front Rack with a medium wald basket attached
White Industries ENO Crank with a 42T chainring. 
Wheels are formula hubs with mavic open pro rings and a white indutries 
16t/18t DOS freewheel 
I will also throw in an ultegra rear deraileur and mircoshift lever in case 
you want to run a 1x setup (the rear wheel can accomodate a 5spd freewheel, 
but you need to remove the spacers prior to swaping out the freewheel. 

For the above am looking for $2,000 including shipping. 

If one bike sells then then other will be taken off the market to remain as 
my long distance weekend bike, the purchaser will also receive some extra 
white industries chainrings (42/22 VBC and 32T ENO) as well as a locking 
tool.

[RBW] For Sale: Sackville Slickersack/Nitto Platrack

My first foray into selling on this forum, but I've realized that the 
Slickersack/Platrack combo is bigger than I really need, and also sits 
pretty low on my big ol' 2TT AHH.  So I need to sell it to fund the 
purchase of a Sackville Bar Sack and accompanying Nitto BarSackRack.
 
Up for sale is:

 - Nitto Platrack
 
They are lightly used, completely undamaged and all hardware is included.

These two products go together, neither is worth much for cycling without 
the other.  They have been discontinued by Riv, and don't come up for sale 
often, so here is your chance to have a complete set in very good 
condition.  Price is $250, including shipping to CONUS.  I'll ship wherever 
you like at an additional charge, which will be whatever it costs me to 
ship it. Paypal works, other arrangements can be made upon request.
 
You also need a front rack to mount these.  The Nitto Mark's Rack is what I 
used, and I believe the Nitto Mini-front is compatible as well.  Left to my 
own devices, I'd keep the Mark's Rack on my bike, but if you want it, i'll 
throw it in for an additional $110 (new is $130).  Be warned that the 
struts have been cut down to size; I think I took an inch or so off.  You 
can get replacements from Riv.
 
I'll also entertain a straight-up trade of the Slickersack/Platrack for the 
aforementioned Bar Sack/BarSackRack combo in similar condition.

[RBW] For Sale: Lovingly Used Burley Piccolo with two racks

It's a kind of proud and bittersweet moment to admit that my two babies are 
big enough that we won't be using the Burley Piccolo anymore.  Anyhow, the 
Burley Piccolo is the nicest of the trail-a-bike style kid tandem 
converters.  You can go buy a new one at REI for $360, or you can take 
mine.  It's blue, and has a six speed grip shifter.  It comes with a second 
rack, so you could run it on two bikes.  Two of yours, or yours and 
somebody else's.  The extra rack went for another $100 when I got it.  
Anyway, I'd like to sell this locally in the greater Bay Area and I'd like 
to get $250 for the Piccolo with two racks.  If you want me to explain why 
this is the nicest of the trail-a-bikes or have any questions.  Drop me a 
line.  There are a half-dozen photos on my flickr.

[RBW] For Sale: Acorn Boxy Rando Bag

I just bought the Tall Rando Bag from Acorn, and will post my impressions 
after I receive and ride it for awhile.

[RBW] For Sale 51 cm Atlantis & 1985 19 1/2 Stumpjumper

Atlantis

I posted the following during the winter - the only response I had
involved over seas shipping which I didn't want to deal with.

I purchased this bike from Rivendell 3-4 years ago and never built it
up.  It was somewhat of an impulse purchase – only because of the
color.  I was never overly fond of the Atlantis green and when this
presented itself – I purchased it.  I have since purchased a
Hunqapillar and thus have decided to part with the Atlantis.

It is a new 51 cm NOS, Japan built Toyo Atlantis.   No flaws, it is
excellent, no components or wheels ever mounted - except for the
headset of course.  See the pictures at Flickr for the color - sort of
a lavender.

The frame is located in Suffield CT.  I will sell it for $1650 - which
is the amount I paid.


1985 Stumpjumper Frame & Fork

I purchased this bike new  in 1985.I’ve used it off and on over
the years – always as a road bike rather than off road.  I had a
smaller Stumpjumper  that I used off road.

It is 19 ½ inch frame lugged steel frame.  It was made in Japan I
believe by Toyo from what I have read - but not sure.  As you will
note by the pictures, I ride very upright and the Stumpjumper no
longer gives me the handlebar height I want/need at my over 60
age………   and that is the only reason I’ve decided to sell it.  I
currently ride a Hunqapillar and just received a new Betty Foy frame.

It is in very good condition considering it is over 25 years old.
Always kept inside – no rust.  It has no dings or dents but does have
some paint chips.  It seems to have chrome under some or all of the
paint.

Please note that I’m only selling the frame, fork and headset -
$175.

1992 Bridgestone RB-1, kind of beat up, all cosmetic.  I personally

Campagnolo low flange track hubs 36 hole. Vintage, but I'm not sure how

pretty. Currently not built, but everything needed is there. They have been

set on ebay. I had a bunch of interest in these, but no one commited. Price 
reduced $225.00

Sugino RD2 single speed road crank 3/32, 165mm crank arms. Good shape, with 
some marks from use. Very similar to my Alpina double and I think these can 
be converted to a double. Price reduced $50.00

Campagnolo medium toe clips with the box. Nice shape and cool box $20.00

Rivendell Brand V boxy bar bag. Newer boxier version. D-rings on top. In 
nice shape with some minor wear. Now $40.00

This frame and fork are NIB. Its from the first run of Saluki's. Its
never been removed from the original box in which it was shipped. I
have two head badges for it and will include both in the sale. Price
is $ 1,450.00 plus actual shipping cost via FedEx Ground. I will ship

I'd be pleased to answer any questions about this beautiful 650B frame
and fork. This was one of Rivendell's first batch of Saluki frames.
Color is Silver/Pewter.

I ordered and received the bike in 2006. We were still recovering from
Hurricane Katrina and I just didn't have time to follow through with
building the bike. While I collected everything to do an all French
component (except headset and BB) build I just haven't the time or
inclination to get the project rolling. Besides, I've got a Riv Road
and a Riv A/R to ride.

I have for sale to the Riv Owners Group a complete set of cotton canvas 
Carradice "Super C" series front and rear panniers. Used for one 5 day tour and 
some commuting and shopping, in fine undamaged condition except missing one 
plastic toggle-lock rack clip on one of the large "rear" bags. A little 
improvisation (such as an "irish strap" or leather strap) allows for 
better-than-original mounting to your rack, or most Carradice dealers should be 
able to supply a replacement. A set of all four bags would cost $445 brand new, 
I am asking $250 for the set, shipping included.

Hi all,  as we are coming into fall, I am trying to reconfigure my commuting 
attire.

I have a Showers Pass Hybrid Jacket in size small that has seen limited use 
for sale.  I bought it about a year ago, wore it a few times, and decided 
that it didn't quite fit right.  

I see that SP is having a sale on this jacket for $140 now (orig $200).  I 
will sell mine for $40 shipped, priority mail.  Mine is the mocha color.  It 
is a very well-made jacket, with reflective tabs that snap shut so that they 
look like a regular, non-cycling jacket, and an opening and loop for 
earbuds.

Hey there,

I'm finally getting around to selling by RB1 which is very sad but I
hope someone will enjoy riding it more often than I do.  I bought it a
couple of years ago b/c I wanted to have a go fast bike to exercise on
and I also just thought it was beautiful and had wanted to have one
forever.  Truth is, I usually ride my Atlantis and I could use the
money to buy a new camera!

I'm basically selling it for what I bought it for.  Actually for a bit
of a loss after replacing the rear wheel and adding a few Nitto bits.
Curious to know if folks think this is a reasonable price.  I know I
was happy to pay that when I came across this one b/c it was the exact
model I'd wanted.

Anyway, hope someone will enjoy it.  I'd love to sell it to someone on
the list and would come to an arrangement for shipping if I thought it
was going to a good home!

The original Riv/Waterford paint was not of top quality. My '95 had
flaking problems. Still, a custom for $950  This was a roadie
replacement for and improvement over my (hot rodded!) 1992 XO-1: Grant
took his All Rounder geometry, tweaked it into roadie-worthiness with,
IIRC, shorter and more nimble front center, and built it out of road
753 and lugs. A wee bit too quick compared to the '99 and the '03 with
their much longer stays and shallower head, but still very nice if you
didn't go smaller than 32 mm tires. I don't mind having sold the XO,
but I do wish I'd kept the '95.

Just fwiw: after I took receipt of customs 2 and 3, I sold my very
early 1995 custom(ized) #1, but while the later ones are big
improvements, I sure do wish I'd kept #1 for use as a beater errand
bike -- a very nice beater errand bike that I had converted,
inevitably, to a fixed drivetrain by dremeling off the usual braze-ons
and rd hangar and installing an ENO rear wheel. I used to carry 40 lb
of groceries on the back of #1 with narry a wobble -- could ride no
hands at 10 mph with that load. All 753 including stays, with 531
fork, biplane. (The customizing was building it around 559/571 wheels,
such as are  the later ones, too; not for fit but because I like small
wheels.)

You just might want to hang on to it

[RBW] For Sale: Rivendell Road Standard F/F and headset

Up for sale is my 1995/6 Waterford built Rivendell Road Standard, size
59.5cm. I've owned this bike for about four years. I'm selling it
because my Riv Custom is here and it was designed in many ways as a
replacement. I've contemplated keeping it, just because, but it makes
sense to move on.
 It's in great shape structurally but the original Waterford paint job
wasn't so great (there are dust particles beneath the paint). There
are some chips and scratches at the expected places, most of them were
present when I bought the frame. There was a seat stay mounted chain
hanger which is no longer there and the bare steel in that spot has
been coated with clear nail polish. There are no dents or dings and
the bike rides beautifully.
 This frame is built with Grant's custom spec'd Reynolds 753 steel
with 531 fork blades (cool bi-plane fork crown too) . The lug set was
designed by Richard Sachs. The very early readers chronicle the
development of these frames, it's a good read.
 This frame has nice tire clearance and fits the Grand Bois 30's which
actually measure out a bit larger. I've also run the old Pasela 35's
(actual 32) with room to spare but it will not take a Jack Brown. I've
never run it with fenders so I don't know about tire sizes with
fenders.
 Asking price is $930.00 if it's Paypal or $900.00 if a U.S. Postal
money order plus actual shipping ~UPS ground.

Since I have only ridden it once in a decade, I am selling off my 1992
Bridgestone XO-1. It's a size 55cm and was custom repainted by Cyclart
in the same "tusk" off-white with the pearlescent clear-coat as it
originally had ("Cat. 2" level paint job). At the same time, I had a
third set of bottle braze-ons added to the bottom of the top tube.
This bike is better than new, truly. Grant Petersen gave it to me in
1992, when I was sponsored by Bridgestone Cycles USA. I raced it in
the Triple Ironman in France and some other events, but quit riding it
about 1996. I had it repainted by CyclArt in about 1999 and only rode
it once after that. It's been taking space (indoors, always) ever
since.

Asking price: A minimum offer of $2500, plus $50 Fedex ground shipping
within the ConUSA. Free delivery to San Diego area, along the 405
corridor in LA, and perhaps the Bay Area this weekend if I am
contacted soon enough. Payment accepted in cash or via Paypal only.

firm offer. Some preference will be given to prospective buyers who
can pick it up (La Jolla, CA) or to whom I can deliver it right away.
If I don't receive an acceptable offer, I will list it on eBay next

This bike has been heavily upgraded. In fact, the only original part
is the moustache handlebars! All the components listed are new/unused,
having been ridden just once since installation (except for the
cranks, BB, and post):
- NEW/UNUSED Chris King headset in "3-D Violet"
- Two sets of wheels: A set of NEW/UNUSED custom 650c wheels with
Ringlé hubs in "3-D Violet" with matching nipples (28 hole front and
32 hole rear Sun ME14A Rims) which you can see in the photos below.
Also included are the original 26" wheels which have been respoked and
the hubs regreased (not pictured).
- NEW/UNUSED 9-speed shifting: Dura-Ace down-tube shifters are mounted
as bar-ends, with 105 front derailleur and Ultegra rear derailleur and
chain.
- Used Ultegra 9-speed era 170mm cranks and BB with 39/53 rings.
(These are the only components on the whole bike, except for the
handlebars and seat post, with any miles on them!)
- NEW/UNUSED Tektro brakes of unknown type: allow sliding the brake
pads up and down six mm's to use either size wheels.
- Circa 1985 Dura Ace non-aero brake levers give ideal cable routing
with moustache bars (almost NOS condition).

Other parts include the original Nitto moustache bars, a 27.0 American
Classic seat post, Concor Rolls Due saddle, Michelin tyres, and a 10cm
Nitto stem which GP gave me on a visit to Riv HQ.

Note: There are two flaws in the paint job: Some paint has flaked off
on the very top edge of the seat lug, adjacent to the seat post. Also,
there is a bit too much clear coat on the head tube, on the bike's
right side, above the lower head tube lug. You can see both of these
flaws in the photos, if you look closely. (Note that the seat post is
installed to just above the limit line, which is why it looks high or
tall.)

This gorgeous XO-1 is totally ready to ride as soon as you mount your
own pedals!

Also, I don't currently have any photos of the stock, original, 26"
wheels which are also included. They are with my wheel builder in LA,
but I will get them back shortly.

on this bike, at least with the 105 front derailleur, due to the water
bottle braze-on location on the seat tube). Currently the cranks I can
include have 39/53 rings.

Many photos are at the link below, but please note that the bike for
sale is as described above, NOT exactly as seen in the photos. These
photos are from four years ago, when I had a few different parts
mounted on it. Also, I don't currently have any photos of the stock,
original, 26" wheels which are also included, but they have been
respoked and the hubs regreased by a professional wheel builder.

Just to be clear, this sale does NOT include the following which you
will see in the photos:

- Ritchey seat post and Brooks saddle (the buyer will receive a silver
American Classic seat post and black Concor Rolls Due saddle).
- Ritchey cranks, pedals and BB
- The Dura Ace front and rear derailleurs depicted (the bike is now
equippped with a 105 front and 9-speed Ultegra rear, which work much
better and are unused).
- The 26" wheels with black hubs and knobby tires shown in the last
seven photos (the bike includes the first set of wheels you see, with
the violet colored hubs, AND the original 26" wheels with no tires).

[RBW] For Sale: Quickbeam 60cm Green

 For sale is an early Quickbeam, 60cm in green. This was purchased
from Rivendell as a complete bike. My brother in law is the original
owner, he still owns it but it is in my possession. At the time he
bought it I had a 58 QB and he loved it. He's a bit taller than I am
so he bought a 60. He had big plans but as things go, those plans
never really came to be. He rarely rode the bike at all. During my
visits (a three hour drive) I put more miles on the bike than he did
during the entire time he's owned it. This bike has less than 100
miles on it. He sheepishly said "less than fifty". It is in original
condition with the original spec, except for the seatpost which will
be a brand new Kalloy Uno. As per the norm, no seat and no pedals.

The only flaw to mention is a paint chip at the seat lug extension
(the decorative point above the top tube). The bike came that way form
Rivendell ( I helped him unpack it). It didn't really bother him,
clear nail polish was applied and all is well.
I was going to keep it for myself but my Rivendell Custom will be here
this Tuesday (!) and the design is very similar so I really don't need
it nor do I have the room.
 I posted this once before but have taken a soft sell approach. If
this doesn't sell here I suppose I'll go the Ebay route but I'd rather
see it go to someone here.
 This bike is like new, as the photos show. With all the Quickbeam
talk on the list here, hopefully someone's looking for a 60.
 I've sold a few Rivendell frames on this list and ebay as well so I
can assure you that you'll be happy.

[RBW] For Sale or Trade: Fizik Arione CX

I have what is essentially a brand new Fizik Arione saddle in black.
It was mounted once and then removed.  Comes with the original
packaging.  This is the one with the Klium rails but is the 2010 model
which weighs only 205g.

I realize this is not typical Riv saddles but there are a bunch of
Roadeo riders here that I thought might be interested.

These newer ones sell for $170 roughly. I well sell this one for $110
shipped OR if anyone has a Brooks Swift that they would like to trade
that is the saddle I would like to try next.  Black or brown.

TA Bottle Cages: the classic, iconic, indestructible bottle cage of
days gone by! I have three: one is mint ($50) and two are lightly used
(one with a tiny amount of rust) for $40 each.

Regina "Record" chain with gold outer plates which are "drilled" for
lightness. NOS in original box. My price: $30.

1986 Zeus Supercronos 2200 rear derailleur (capacity 13 to 30 teeth)
WITH 1984 Zeus 2000 front derailleur (clamp on). Both are MINT,
unused. My price for both: $50.

Galli front and rear derailleurs, circa 1985. Black, MINT, unused
condition. Very rare. Like the Zeus der's above, a Campy NR clone. My

Campy Record 9-speed Ergopower "Brifters, Mint, the "classic" of this
style of shifting: levers are all polished metal (no big chunks of
plastic or cabon). Includes matching chain, also unused, and owner's
manual. My price: $100.

Campy C-Record brake levers with white hoods, all in excellent
condition. Very minimal use. My price: $40.

Suntour Superb non-aero brake levers (Campy NR clones). Very good
condition with some scratching. Hoods dry, but not torn. Great for
moustache bars. My price: $20.

Simplex retrofriction shifters, yes, THOSE SHIFTERS, the classic,
iconic ones. Very good condition. My price: $40.

Tektro F&R calipers, black color, very good condition, long reach (I
measure the reach at 50 to 70mm, approximately). These are unlike any
Tektros currently on the market. They are most similar to the R538,

Chris Kelly Take-Offs: No longer made, these ingenious little devices
allow the mounting of down-tube shifters to the inside of brake
levers. Have "brifter" shifting without buying all new levers/
shifters! Plus, the shifting mechanism is to the inside of the brake
lever, making them much safer and protected from damage. Easy to
install and use. Used, but 100% functional. My price: $20.

Colorado Boomerang. New in package. Originally purchased from
Rivendell. My price: $8.

Alfredo Binda Toe Straps: the holy grail of toe straps with the two
leather straps sandwiching nylon, or whatever. One pair MINT in
original packaging. Off-white color. My price: $20.

Bar-end Shifter Pods from Riv: New in package. MSRP: $34. My price:
$20.

ITM Matching leather-wrapped bars (with stem) with Tornado saddle by
Iscaselle (similar to Turbo in shape and style. Tan color. Remember
that early 80s style when bars matched saddles precisely and the bars
had leather neatly stitched around them? NOS, MINT, still in original
packaging. 12cm quill stem (black) already installed (necessarily) and
bars are 41cm, center to center, with brake mounting bolts also
already installed, ready to accept Campy SR or similar levers. My
price: $40.

Silver (that's the brand name, as you know, and the color) down-tube,
friction shifters from Riv. New, in package. MSRP: $42. My price: $30.

Stronglight needle bearing headset. Well used, but perfectly
functional. NOTE: MISSING the base plate (the lowest part of the whole
stack). Black. My price: $5.

Shimano Dura-Ace crank arm pairs, both 165mm. Mod. 7402 era (late
80s', 7/8-speed). Both very shiny and overall in very good condition,
with the expected light scratching and scuffing, here and there. But I
think they look great and if they were my size, I'd use them. These
have a very low Q-factor. My price: $25 each.

Shimano Dura-Ace seat post, 26.8 fluted, classic style from the 80s,
20cm long. Overall very good condition, considering the age. I'm
picky, but would definitely use it if it fit one of my bikes. My

Shimano Ultegra 8-speed bar-end shifters. Used with some scratches,

white chest panel. Measures 25.5" long in front and 27" in back; 19.5"
across at the arm pits. Fits me: 175" and 5'11.5". Worn and washed
properly once. Perfect condition. $40+$5 S&H to USA.
