Hello, I'm new to the list also, but have a question regarding ionic silver. There are various generators that can be bought from varioous people on the net. It seems to me that the only two that are discussed at any length are the dc and the hvac types. What does anyone have to say about the ionic form of colloidal silver? It seems to me that it would be the smallest particle size possible. The question, then, is do the positively charged ions react with human tissues to cause damage in the body rather than to kill pathogens? Do any of you have any experience with ionic silver? Or do you have comparisons between the types? I'm very curious to hear about anything you guys might know about this. I also have a comment about how people reply to messages. It seems that everyone is replying from the original message instead of composing a new message. This makes for some very large files after a while that take a relatively long time to download. Why not make a new, short message to make your point? I think it would make on line life a little quicker. Just a suggestion. Re: CSUnidentified subject!
Tim, Different particle sizes can be made with both DC and AC systems. Ionic silver (normally referring to a silver solution, not a colloid) can be made with high volt ac systems (and perhaps with other methods too), but high volt AC systems can also produce colloidal particles, and mixture sized particles. In my own playing around, I have found with my hvac system I can produce a mud (or mixture) which falls out of suspension very quickly, colloidal sized particles, or ionic (or solution) sized particles. This I can do more or less at will, but have found the mixture and solution extremes to be a lot easier to get than the colloidal sized particle. I know DC systems are capable of making different sized particles, but I am not too familiar with what the potential range is. Does the solution sized particle react differently in the body, and is that good or bad? You are looking for the same answers many of us are. It would seem obvious that particle size would make a difference, but how much of a difference is probably the real question. There are people on this list which make ionic, I target the colloidal size (as do some others), and some use whatever comes out of their silver making gizmos without much being concerned about particle size. I suppose if any of use were to get sick more often we could figure out what difference particle size really makes, but the CS seems to be working too good for any of us to have found out yet! Happy to hear you Mike. Sandy san...@better.net -- From: M. G. Devour mdev...@mail.id.net To: silver-list@eskimo.com Subject: CSPolitics... Date: Tuesday, December 15, 1998 12:51 PM Moderator checks in... Yes, the list rules are that we avoid politics and religion quite scrupulously, for the reason that we are a diverse community here that *WILL* disagree vehemently over just about anything you can bring up on either of these subjects. We've learned this from hard and unpleasant experience, and I don't want to see it repeated. Our aim is to learn more about CS and a few closely related topics, to support one another in our efforts to be healthy, and to help others who are interested in finding out what we've learned. That said, I want you to know I am one of the most enthusiastic students of politics you'll ever meet. (Just look at my .sig!) I agree that few of us in today's world deserve the luxury of being apolitical, since neglect of the political process has caused many of the serious problems we face. I damn well guarantee you that I could start a discussion that will tear this list apart in no time! I am intensely interested in most of the issues you'd want to bring up, including the circus down on the Potomac. There isn't one person here I couldn't offend with at least one of my strongly held beliefs. GRIN But I'll restrain myself, because I respect why this community has gathered here. I know that many of our members' time and stamina is limited by illness, and I don't want to lose the chance to help those who need it most. There are so many good forums for political discussions that I don't feel deprived because I can't have them here. Oh, and Sandy, I *am* here, reading every post that comes through. But I don't filter them before they go out. I think we all appreciate the fast turn around of instant forwarding enough to put up with the occasional off-topic posts or minor controversies that will get through. I don't want you to have to wait until I have a chance to read my mail before you can start getting answers to your questions. I depend on each of you to help preserve our focus and the friendliness of our exchanges. And of course there's the seldom used but very big hammer in my toolbox that I reserve for the *tough* cases. Hi all, It is also said the the BB's from lyme come out into the bloodstream every 30 days of their cycle to reproduce. If they are in the bloodstream I would think that if enough CS is taken on a steady basis it should eventually seek and destroy the BB's. I know the CS definitely has eliminated most of the nuerological effects of lyme for me. All that remains so far is twitches, floaters, and some creaks here and there. (The creaks could mean I am getting old to) I do have achiness and am more uncomfortable when that 30 day cycle hits. This to seemed to be less painful the last time around. RE: CSReinfection and the Thumper (pulser)
RE: silver not reaching lymph nodes In John Hill's Literature Review of CS papers, the silver is collected by the reticuloendothelial system, the parts of the body where cells absorb pathogens. Sorry I can't be more specific about the reference. According to that belief, this brings the pathogens into contact with the silver. The lymph nodes are a major part of that system. James Osbourne, Holmes a...@trail.com -Original Message- From: mbgu...@julian.uwo.ca [SMTP:mbgu...@julian.uwo.ca] Sent: Monday, December 14, 1998 10:08 PM To: silver-list@eskimo.com Subject:CSReinfection and the Thumper (pulser) Think it might be worth considering the pulser as a serious adjunct to CS. I suspect the reason besides having multiple strains of the lyme bug, why CS does not always work is due to CS's inability to reach the lymph nodes and cavity areas. So while you are dealing with pathogens in the bloodstream and gut etc possible reinfection is occurring from places where CS has not been able to go. The pulser in my opinion is a must for more complete treatment. Everyone on the list should read Bob Becks material just to understand these type of issues. CSWho is this moderator guy?
Dear silver list members, Many of you that are on the list today probably weren't around last January when I took over. So I think I ought to let you know how I came to be in this position and what I'm trying to accomplish. I joined the list almost 2 years ago, looking for people who could answer my questions about this CS stuff I'd read about on usenet and web sites. I was hoping there'd be somewhere I could find decent data to back up the many claims. Of course, there wasn't! But I did make the acquaintance of a number of you who have had positive results that can't be explained away. Some simple calculations told me that I probably would not turn grey from the total quantities of silver involved, not even taking into account that most if not all of the silver is supposed to be excreted. So I figured it was worth trying. I've ended my problems with recurrent bronchitis and scaled back my sinus problems since using CS. I've had friends and relatives try it with some success, including a diabetic who has cleared up his chronic bladder infections. My personal opinion, at this point, is that CS is effective, at least for some things, and *seems* safe. But when I'm talking to people I always mention the possibilities of herxheimer reactions, allergic reactions to silver, and the widespread fears over argyria. I want them to be informed and make up their own minds. I became the list owner and maintainer after conflicts on the list caused Gary Hawkins, it's originator, to decide to shut it down rather than cope with the hassles. Several of us beseeched him to help us keep the list going, and I sort of ended up being the one who didn't run away fast enough. grin I've attempted since then to keep the list a protected place where interested folks can carry on their study and research free from attacks by debunkers and a barrage of marketing hype and spam. I read every post that comes through and contribute where I think I can help. I try to instill a sense of tolerance, since there are many good ways to make and use CS, with different attributes and drawbacks for each method. And we've learned the hard way to stay away from certain topics, like politics and religion. Another hot button issue is the traditional medicine bashing that emerges whenever someone gets too officious in defending the medical establishment. We've got many folks who are refugees of traditional (mis)treatment and have been sorely hurt, while on the other hand we've got newcomers who are just starting to ask questions and would write us off as kooks if we come on too strong. I try to get the traditional and alternative types to at least leave each other alone, and hopefully to give the other credit where it is due. This is kinda hard to achieve sometimes! grin I work hard not to become list-tyrant. I'm sure I talk (type) too much sometimes. If we happen to disagree on something, don't be afraid to debate me. I'm not God! I just ask that each of you allow the *rest* of us to make up our own minds and not to be offended if others choose to disagree with you. Finally, I have a technical background and have participated in real scientific research. I can handle the jargon and recognize most bullsh*t when I see it. I'll be the first one to tell you that nearly all we've got to go on is anecdotal evidence. One of my hopes is that we'll be able to foster some of the research that needs to be done, here, on this list. In the meantime, I'd like your help separating the fact from speculation from opinion from hype from disinformation that surrounds CS. And I appreciate all the warmth and support we've given each other along the way. It's been a challenge and a pleasure to work with you all this past year, and I look forward to the progress we'll make in the future. Be well, Mike D. James wrote: Thanks for the information. You're welcome! Do you know where I can get any information correlating conductance and PPM in order to use a TDS meter to determine concentration? What is the approximate % error using the method? We still have to create it, James! The basic strategy is to make some CS and have it tested for ppm at a local environmental lab or one of the vendors like CS Pro. Adjust your process until you get to the ppm you want to use, retesting as you go until you're satisfied. You will now have an approximate calibration curve for *your* CS, the way you make it, over a narrow range of adjustment. Then you can at least assure yourself of repeatable results from one batch to the next, which is about the best use of the TDS meters. I wouldn't expect to really know the ppm to better than +/- 20% by way of *any* method that you or I could afford to use! All of this is IMHO, of course! Mike D. Re: CS Testing
More for fun than for anything else I would like to run some tests cultivating simple bacteria in a control dish and dishes containing different stengths (PPM) of CS. Does anyone have any idea of where to buy a kit that would include petri dishes, growing medium, and instructions for doing this type of simple experiment? I was about to start growing critters myself for experimenting with a Bare-Rife generator and figured I too would give them a dose of CS. The Bare-Rife Notes section on my web page includes some tips for growing microscopic critters for this in the Testing article. I am planning to do this using one of the methods described in the file. That is to dry some lettuce under a lamp or in the sun (food for the culture.) Get a quart or more of water from a pond or other stagnant water source and put in glass jar. Keep around room temperature. Bubble a small amount of air through it to keep odor down. Sprinkle dried lettuce on top occasionally. When ready to harvest, shine light against jar and most microbes will be attracted to it, so will concentrate them before removing with dropper. I asked for further tips on the Rife list about growing the critters as well as sources of pictures so I would know what they look like. I am very much glad that everyone is staying completely out of political matters. One question that I have for you all is this. Does the CS work in our systems because we have a need for silver in our body or blood chemistry, or does it work like a pesticide is used to kill insects in a garden or both? I am now writing a book on organic gardening, and one thing I have personally noticed is that when the soil provides all nutrients that a plant needs and the environment is right, the plants are not susceptible to diseases or insects. Of course when disease or insects harm your garden, men seek to destroy them through pesticides. They are only treating the symptoms. The better thing to do is to provide optimum growing conditions so that there would be no problems in the first place. Perhaps if you were depending on the food, you would do both. You would deal with the disease or insect, and then root out the cause. I believe that this is the course that should be followed. In every case a better diet working in conjuction with CS will make the outcome better. Though for a while symptoms may worsen while the body rebuilds and sheds toxic substances from the body. This is what requires wisdom. When a treatment is effective you may feel worse for a while. There is much to be learned and there are different conditions that a person may be in. It would be hard to find someone will say that a poor diet is what is needed to regain health. I am also going to send a post on the dangers of aspartame. There is much information there and it may help someone. Please don't be offended because it is OT. Remember, it may save a life. Think about that. People ignore politics at their own peril. The US is in dire straights and only the help of honest people will pull it through the present crisis with a draft-dodging pot smoker in the Oval Office. People do indeed ignore politics at their own peril. But people dont talk politics (other than that which directly affects CS or related subjects) on this list, to avoid arguments like the one you just started! Re: CSReinfection and the Thumper (pulser)
In a message dated 98-12-15 00:16:53 EST, you write: Think it might be worth considering the pulser as a serious adjunct to CS. Chris Gupta. I read a lot about Bob Beck on this list. From what I have heard, he is the one that got his all started (3 each 9 vdc) CS makers. Where can I read about his stuff. I ahve also read about his pulser (?) sound interesting but I can find anything new about him. I need help here. Larry -- The silver-list is a moderated forum for discussion of colloidal silver. RE: CSMore newbie questions!
James wrote: According to folks who have tried, a TDS meter---in reality a very low range meg-ohmmeter calibrated to read in micro-Siemens or TDS-is not usable to determine conc. of Ag sol. The TDS meters from Hannah are indeed *conductance* meters. They *are* usable to achieve consistancy from batch to batch, and as an indirect measure of (approximate) concentration. You simply have to ask: Is conductivity related to concentration of CS particles in any reproduceable way? The answer is yes. It is likely a very *complicated* relationship, however, so you cannot just read the meter directly. But, you can probably create a calibration curve that would work for a limited set of process conditions. The real value is that, once calibrated to a salt or calcium chloride standard, then any two of us can set up the same production environment, process to a certain conductance reading, and be able to expect we're in the same ballpark of useful ppm. (PROBABLY!) If *I've* properly analysed my product, you can now have reason to hope that *your* product is approximately the same. Again, it isn't necessarily an *accurate* tool, but it's reasonably precise and reproduceable, and therefore useful for certain things. Be well, Mike D.
