Hi, Pat,

Thanks for the clarification of my wording. I gave the link for the article/s
so they could be printed out and given to the doctor, not for anyone to use my
wording which was incorrect.

Take care,

I do not believe they removed the brain, but cut out a large part of the

2007-07-12 Thread joe bloggs

Hello to everyone here - so many responses and good advice and loving,
caring thoughts. Thank you.

His name is Tom, and I too believe in the power of prayer and thought and
giving of energy. Other suggestions have been so encouraging as well. DMSO
sounds like something that needs to be mainstream and carried at all times
in ambulances and A & Es. I will spread the word. EFT, reiki, su jok
(sounds similar to reflexology), accupuncture, nutrition, all of these sound
good. The doctors did in fact remove some of his skull to allow swelling -
pity DMSO wasn't used, as I have read that this prevents swelling, but no
matter, his brain was given room to swell, that's good.

I am more hopeful. He has started to move his limbs. I have seen a u tube
video of Shelly Yates (fire the grid) speaking about giving energy to her
son and he recovered. Thank you all again, for your advice, prayers,
thoughts.

Hi, We had a girl about the age of your son who also received severe brain
injuries as a result of a car accident last December. She also had to have
several tough surgeries and was in a coma . I forget how long the coma
lasted. Actually, the doctors induced the coma , I believe. I kind of think
she was in a natural coma first, woke from that and then the doctors put her
into an induced coma. She has recovered nicely . Will be returning to school
in fall. She is an organist and had to learn to play the organ again from
scratch. She is playing for church Services again now, although the music
goes a bit slower than before and she does not attempt the level of
difficulty she did before the accident. She is able to work part time in our
local grocery store and participates in all the activities sshe did before.
It is my prayer that your son will have good results from his treatment as
well. Ruth

Dear Joe,

My thoughts and prayers to your family.

This might sound far out and who knows if it will even
help, but you never know.

Years ago I suffered from a concussion that seemed to
take forever to heal due to the type and placement of
the injury. It had been a good year and still I
struggled a lot. Then I was reading a book I believe
by Dr. Lee (?) called something like "Everything Your
Doctor Didn't Tell You About Menopause." In it he
talked about how good progesterone cream is for the
brain and brain injuries. He even made the comment if
he was ever in a car accident and suffered any brain
injury, he would want somebody to pour the entire
bottle over his head.

Long story short: I purchased some progesterone cream
and started using it for hormone replacement along
with also applying it to my heard. It felt like my
body was starved for it. I never even took a break
from it like the directions say to use 3 weeks on and
take a week off. It was only after I started using it
did I finally recover from the concussion.

Compassionately,

Gail

  Hello Frankie!
  .
Our sentiments are with you, and our prayers as well.

Whether your boy is conscious or not:
Just sit by him, in ear-shot, and talk to him - in a very low voice, but
audible.
Tell him that you love him, that you care, and that everything will be all
right. If possible hold his hand, loosely!
Do so repeatedly, and ask his mother and brothers and sisters to do the
same.

Say relevant things to him, rational things, spontaneously.

Do for alimited space of time, but do repeatedly.

  Hope to serve you some,

2007-07-10 Thread Clayton Family

What a trajedy!

I did work with a specialist in mild traumatic brain injury (for other
reasons), and he advised me to eat a balance of omega 3 oils, like flax
oil, because the myelin sheath needs omega 3's for healing. He works
with people that can make it to his office, so it might go on a to do
list. He helps people re-program the brain, using a kind of EEG, called
QEEG, it is kind of like biofeedback. The local veterans hospital
specialist calls him up on the hard cases he gets.

Perhaps with such a traumatic injury, using homeopathic remedies like
rescue remedy (which can be sprayed on the skin), arnica, there are
several that help the body get over accidents. The acupressure points
sound like a reasonable idea, too. If you know a good Traditional
Chinese Medicine dr, they can work wonders with acupuncture, and mine
was willing to go to the hospital for us once.

Please accept my sincere condolences for the injury of your son- I know
it could happpen to any of us. Best Wishes, Kathryn

Re: CS>Brain Injuries

2007-07-10 Thread Dan Nave

From "DMSO Nature's Healer" by Dr. Morton Walker 1993

INJURIES OF THE BRAIN AND SPINAL CORD

An important possible advance in the prevention of paralysis
after injuries to the brain and spinal cord, DMSO is being
studied for this purpose at four centers of learning. One
of them is the University of Miami School of Medicine, where
Jack C. de la Torre, M.D., is Associate Professor of
Neurosurgery and Psychiatry and Chief of the Department of
Neurological Research. By 1992, he had been working with
the compound for about twelve years. Dr. de la Torre first
illustrated his findings at a November 1980 scientific
conference of the DMSO Society of Florida, Inc. held in
Sarasota, Florida.

Studying monkeys that were given an occlusion of the middle
cerebral artery, the blood vessel in the brain that controls
motor function, Dr. de la Torre prevented their paralysis
by dosing them with DMSO. The DMSO-treated monkeys didn't
suffer from the severe neurological damage from cerebral
stroke that would occur if they were left untreated or were
treated with corticosteroids, the current conventional
treatment. Stroke, which causes half a million deaths or
more each year among Americans, is the second most common
cause of death from cardiovascular disease. There are many
facets to the pathologic process- pressure, lack of oxygen,
inadequate blood flow, release of enzymes- and DMSO is well
equipped to arrest them. The DMSO must be administered
within four hours to be effective, and within ninety minutes
is best, reports Dr. de la Torre. I provide a full
discussion of his DMSO research with head and spinal cord
injuries in Chapter 9.

At the University of Oregon Medical School where Dr. Jacob
works, intravenous DMSO was given to patients following
severe head injury. For a group of patients receiving
barbiturates and mannitol, brain pressure remained elevated.
When 40 percent DMSO was administered (one gram of DMSO
per kilogram of body weight) the pressure came Down to
normal within three to five minutes. Barbiturates and
mannitol. are at present considered the best available
treatment in traditional medicine for such brain injuries,
but DMSO proved better, said Dr. Jacob in an interview.

In separate animal studies with cats, rats, and dogs done at
three universities, DMSO given intravenously to the spinal
cords of the animals within an hour of injury brought about
reversal of the injuries, which ordinarily would have been
irreversible.

"We have had experience at our medical school in Oregon with
two Patients in which DMSO was given as early as an hour
after what was considered an irreversible injury-an
immediate, complete quadraplegia- and in both people there
was total recovery with them walking out of the hospital,”
said Dr. Jacobs. For optimal therapeutic effect it is
considered critical to give DMSO intravenously within ninety
minutes of a head injury.

“Since the grey matter of the brain seems to deteriorate
after an injury, at least in experimental subjects, DMSO has
to be given very quickly. Every emergency room and every
ambulance should carry it. For paralysis, the drug should
be administered in the dosage of one gram per kilogram of
body weight. Forty percent concentration for paralysis is
recommended even though it extends the bleeding time, Dr.
Jacobs said. “We have had three patients come into our
medical center paralyzed after injury: one five hours, a
second six hours, and the last nine hours. Historically, we
thought their chances of recovery were just about zero. Two
of those three are now walking as a result of our
administering IV DMSO despite the time being beyond an
hour-and-a-half of the injury.” The
Douglass Center recommended, and Dr. de la Torre concurred,
that 2 grams per kilogram patient body weight should be
given for the first dose in these trauma cases.

HEMORRHAGIC STROKE AND HEAD WOUNDS

Even though 40 percent DMSO does cause a prolongation of
bleeding time, it is still indicated for use in treating
embolic or hemorrhagic stroke. Hemorrhagic stroke is the

Embolic stroke is the plugging of a vessel by a clot.

DMSO is superior to any other treatment for high velocity

is present. The key to success with DMSO for hemorrhagic
stroke or any other problem, as has been shown, is to use it
as soon as possible after the stroke or head wound occurs.
The healing qualities of DMSO work to bring the injured
tissues back to normal. See Chapter 9 and Appendix I for

Frankie,

I am so sorry to hear of your son's fate. Hopefully his brain hasn't
suffered an excessive amount of permanent damage but there isn't any way to
assess that at the moment. I will say that acupuncture is an excellent
stimulus to the brain and central/peripheral nervous system. Perhaps, if
your son lives, you might wish to pursue this as a therapy for him. Good
luck to you.

Does anyone here know of a treatment for brain injuries? My 21 year old
son
was involved in a terrible accident in the early hours of Saturday
morning
and has had two operations and is in a coma, on life support. I don't
know
whether to pray for his death or his life because I don't know the
quality

of life expected - nobody knows. If anyone has any information, please
share it. Thank you.
Frankie

Omigod Frankie -- I'm so, so sorry. I don't know of any treatment
for brain injuries, but I'll pray for your son -- and I'll pray for his
life and his health.

RE: CS>Brain Injuries - sit by his side and talk to him in a soft voice

2007-07-10 Thread Faith Saint Francis

Hello Frankie!
.
Our sentiments are with you, and our prayers as well.

Whether your boy is conscious or not:
Just sit by him, in ear-shot, and talk to him - in a very low voice, but
audible.
Tell him that you love him, that you care, and that everything will be all
right. If possible hold his hand, loosely!
Do so repeatedly, and ask his mother and brothers and sisters to do the same.

Say relevant things to him, rational things, spontaneously.

Do for alimited space of time, but do repeatedly.

Hope to serve you some,

Hi, I , also, will pray for your son, both that he recovers and that he does
not have significant problems from his injuries.
