Your blood work can be normal however another panel will show if
antibodies are present. The link below explains this much better than I can.
_http://thyroid.about.com/cs/endocrinology/a/antibodies.htm_
(http://thyroid.about.com/cs/endocrinology/a/antibodies.htm)

I take Synthroid. At first you could see my largest nodules bulging but
now it is smaller and I do not take the meds everyday although I am supposed
to. If I don't take them for long periods of time, my nodules start
getting larger and my bloodwork is all out of whack.

If you could see an Endocrinologist, he/she would know all about these
things.
I would do that before I made any surgery decisions.

Best to you,
Edith

I thought you had a biopsy (FNB = Fine Needle Biopsy) There is a blood
work panel for antibodies which is important. Medication helps the nodules
shrink so that may help with the swallowing and the pulsing.

Hi, Edith,
Well, I have 2 large nodules in the right side, which take up most of the
gland on that side. He wants to remove just that side. I`m wondering if they
are the cause of the miserable pulsatile tinnitus (a grinding pulsating
sound in my right ear) which drives me crazy sometimes. (It is so hard to
get to sleep with a loud constant vroom, vroom, vroom in the ear!!) If so,
perhaps getting rid of the things will stop that. Boy, that would sure be
nice!
I also have to wash my food down with fluids, I`m wondering if that is also
because of the nodules.
What is a FNB? My bloodwork is normal for thyroid, if that is what you mean.

Hi Marsha,

Long time since I've posted. I have just gone through two surgeries
and RAI ablation on my thyroid. it was cancer, however. I suggest you
find a holistic dr. to check thyroid levels, as the reg docs only want
to use synthroid hormones and not the natural ones, which is not as good
IMHO! I have used iodine too but quit when the drs scared me into the
surgeries. I tell you the big C word really does scare the crap out of
you. They now tell me there is nothing wrong with me ... but never any
guarantee. It will always be haunting me. I will start using the
iodine again in a few months after my next WBS as it interferes with the
results.

The thyroid will absorb as much iodine as it can but bromine and chorine
will replace it and block it if you give it a chance. Gatorade and
Mountain dew are heavily doused with brominated vegetable oil and it
blocks the iodines uptake. I think that is what may have caused my
cancer as i used gatorade quite heavily not no more!!!

But, Marshalee is the one with the thyroid issue:)  I am certain she

I had hypothyroid, but resolved that a couple of years ago, by taking

maintenance.

Thanks for the input.

RE: CS>Thyroid help??? Calcium and Magnesium Orotate

2010-08-10 Thread sms
Kathy,

Go to iherb.com and search for magnesium orotate, and calcium orotate by
Advanced Research. The calcium orotate is very difficult to swallow as it
is large and in tablet form (oval). I just switched to their 2-AEP Calcium
from the Calcium Orotate for this reason. The products are mfg. by Advanced
Research and are excellent.

They do not combine the orotates. They these are separate.

Marshalee,

Growing up I had hard cysts right under my skin. I met a bio-chemist who told
me to take Lecithin capsules daily, at least two, three times a day, along with
at least 2 grams of Vitamin C. The lecithin emulsified the hardened skin oils
(sebum) and the antioxidant activity of the C helped my body to deal with
getting rid of the toxins. Within 30 days I had a very signifcant difference
in my skin. I used loofa sponges when I showered to help get rid of dead
surface skin and help open the pores during very hot showers.

I also had eczema too, and the lecithin helped tremendously.

RE: CS>Thyroid help???

2010-08-09 Thread Neville Munn

The doc told the daughter if you can put a finger on the cyst and are able to
move it around under the skin, then it's nothing related to cancer {no root or
something}, it's only a cyst.

The following is not a testimonial or anything, just a curious observation in
my daughters case.

She had this cyst on her head for several years, never bothered her but rather
was a nuisance, and wasn't unduly concerned about it because of what the doc
had said. Whilst I was administering EIS to her for something else she told me
that the cyst appeared to be becoming more pressurised on the scalp and was
becoming a tad tender to pressure applied by the finger. A week later she ran
panicking to her sister {who lived next door} informing her that the cyst had
burst, and as she expelled the fluid, a small 'sack' popped out through the
opening in the scalp. She almost died with fright as this 'alien' thing popped
out {we laugh about it now, but was traumatic for her at the time}.

Since then everything has returned to normal, she had a hollow in the scalp for
a while until everything 'healed?'.

Now, I'd love to be able to say the expulsion of the fluid...and the 'sack'
shortly thereafter...was the result of the administration of EIS...but the
simple truth is...I can't, but I noted it for future reference anyway just on
the off chance that the EIS *MAY* have had something to do with the ultimate
and complete removal of that cyst.

I was curious about the events then, and am still curious now, but the fact is,
I have no way of knowing, so it remains a 'curiosity', or just plain
coincidence praps, but *something* motivated that cyst to burst? I just wish I
knew.

What do you call a 'thyroid cyst'?

The reason I ask is cos one of my daughters had a small cyst {quack
diagnosed} right in the middle of the top of her head {the 'fontinel' spot I
spose one could say} and just want to know if it's the same thing, if not, then
I needn't go any further.

  Hi, Mike,
Just had to tell you, and the List, that CS knocked out a nasty
toothache, and now I don`t have to have a 900 buck root canal!!! To the
dentists: neener, neener, neener! :oP
Now, does anyone have any good ideas for thyroid cysts? I have 2 on the
right side that are so big, there`s little thyroid tissue left there, and my
doc wants to whack that side out.
(WWW, I don`t want my throat cut!!!) At least they aren`t cancer...

Oops, I meant to say nodules.
I too have cysts on my head and elsewhere, they are sebaceous cysts,
nonmalignant globs of skin oils called sebum, which over time had built up
and formed a bump because the follicle didn`t have an opening to the outside
to let the sebum out. Easily removed. It`s a hereditary thing, my dad and my
youngest son both had/have them.
I did have a scan and a needle biopsy on my nodules. No cancer, so far...
Last night I ordered in an iodine preparation from the Global Healing Center
(on the Internet) where I get my Calcium/Magnesium Orotate from, I hope that
might help. I haven`t gotten the results back from my bloodwork yet, I hope
to find out if my thyroid is working well or not.
Anyone else have nodules or other thyroid experiences?
