Hi,

At the risk of repeating myself, one of my favorite recipes using coconut
oil is:

1/2 Coconut oil (organic, virgin)
1/2 butter (unsalted because my salt is better than theirs)
Celtic sea salt (ground in coffee mill or it will be gritty), to taste

Mix the three and used at room temperature, haven't eaten anything better as
a spread.

Hey Jean,

Please, continue to repeat yourself!! I guess it was your suggestion of this
recipe that had me make this once (except I don't remember putting salt in it).
But it was delicious - I intend to make sure the recipe doesn't get lost this
time around when I make some this time! My dad ( a coconut lover) moved in
with me a few months ago, and I'm sure he's really gonna appreciate it!

Thanks again!

seeds with your thumb and first 2 fingers, just about 3/4 teaspoon,
and chew them till they were nearly liquid. He said you had to chew

Another thing he taught me was how to make an awesome healthy desert

[David Bearrow] Wayne said you gotta get the wet processed cold pressed
virgin coconut oil melted to a liquid but you don't want to heat it too much
or it loses its good properties (it melts at 76 degrees). I used a double
boiler cause I keep my house at 74 degrees but you could just put it outside
on a hot day. Then you mix the coconut oil and the peanut butter half and
half. Then you add honey to taste. Then you pour the mixture into a brownie
pan and put it in the fridge. Once its cold it will harden up and you can
cut it into squares. Its a delicious way to eat a large amount of coconut
oil which is really good for you (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coconut_oil
).

You can do this with raw cacao powder, too, and retain the benefits of
chocolate. Raw honey has healing properties, but when you heat it you
destroy the enzymes.

Coconut oil freezes well. You could put the "brownies" in the freezer for a
while to develop a wonderful fudge-like consistency.

If that's Wayne, then he looks just about as I would have imagined
him. dee

Thanks for the pix, David.
I'm sure the list appreciates them.

Wayne always explained it that you should take a small pinch of the
seeds with your thumb and first 2 fingers, just about 3/4 teaspoon,
and chew them till they were nearly liquid. He said you had to chew
em real good or they wouldn't digest, they would just pass through
whole. And if you put to many in your mouth at once that you couldn't
get em chewed up enough, you'd end up swallowing a lot of them whole.

Another thing he taught me was how to make an awesome healthy desert
from peanut butter, coconut oil, and honey.

Wayne came out to visit me in Texas about 5 years ago. He had an
open invitation to me to come visit him but I procrastinated and now
he is gone. I'm going to miss our phone conversations. He taught me
the proper way to eat raw sunflower seeds. Now I have to wait till
the resurrection to see him again.

CS>wayne fugitt

2009-08-10 Thread David Bearrow
I hadn't been reading the posts and my computer had been
automatically sorting my email into various files (something Wayne
had taught me to do) and I scrolled back and read a few posts the
other day. Imagine my dismay when I saw that Wayne had died! He was
one of the most intelligent persons I had ever met. Everytime I
talked to him I learned something from him. I'm gonna miss that old rascal!

Wayne came out to visit me in Texas about 5 years ago. He had an open
invitation to me to come visit him but I procrastinated and now he is
gone. I'm going to miss our phone conversations. He taught me the
proper way to eat raw sunflower seeds. Now I have to wait till the
resurrection to see him again.
