Re: [RCSE] Airtronics Stylus
I called Airtronics today to ask some general questions regarding the Stylus transmitter. One of the questions I asked is are they working on a synthesized tx module. The answer I received today was NO! I also asked if they were working on anything new to replace the Stylus as is it a few years old now and did not get a definite answer. I am still baffeled at the need to buy glider card and model memory card at a significant extra cost to the price of the transmitter. The JR 9303 (I realize this is much newer radio on the market) has both features built into the transmitter that you pay extra for with a Stylus. Why I ask? Re:[RCSE] Airtronics Stylus
Title: Re:[RCSE] Airtronics Stylus Airtronics did this years ago. My Infinity 1000 has embedded software to support RF channel selection, all it required was the appropriate RF module. No dials to turn, just select from the touch panel… There was also a companion synthesized receiver (10 channel) that you cabled to the Tx, and set to the newly-selected transmit freq. So who's got one (preferably the pair) for sale…? Respond to [EMAIL PROTECTED] r/ Dave

RE: [RCSE] Airtronics Stylus prgraming help
Aloha John. I talked to "Stylus Boy" Tom Hoopes and he sent me a set of instructions to setup an electric motor sailplane with the Stylus. The instructions allow you to still use the flaps stick with the flaperon/spoileron and have proportional throttle control via the side slider. If you didn't figure it out yet, email me and I could send you the instructions. Al Battad - WH6VE AMA #506981 -Original Message- From: John E. Hatlelid [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, February 13, 2005 2:21 PM To: soaring@airage.com Subject: [RCSE] Airtronics Stylus prgraming help I have a Stylus with the extra glider card and am trying to setup a plane with motor, ailerons, elevator, and rudder. In the manual for the glider card, I find the option for changing the wing type to 2A1FER for an F5B setup. I think I have done this properly and have aileron, elevator, and rudder servos responding correctly. I can not seem to get the throttle to work with the speed controller and power the electric motor. I feel the problem might have to do with end point adjustments or some other aspect of correctly setting up the throttle channel. I would appreciate any detailed information on how to complete the setup of the throttle channel. Thanks, John Hatlelid RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. Re: [RCSE] Airtronics Stylus prgraming help
Some motor controllers look for a pulse rate that increases in width to match low throttle (in it's mind). Try reversing the flap servo direction (which you are using for throttle) to see whether the controller responds to low throttle position, which then arms the controller... Switch #15 is commonly used since it's spring loaded. This provides only full on motor and full off, which is all a sailplane needs. If this is for a powered plane where you will use the left stick for throttle, you can use the standard 2A2FER program and plug the controller into channel 5 or 6. Good luck, Lenny
