LMS should work just fine with local library without internet.. Have you tried rebooting your router.? I also agree that raspberry pi with pcp is way to go. It's actually very simple and guys from pCp made it almost plug and play. Also it comes with abundance of tutorials and other users support on forums. Windows machine for LMS seems like terrible idea to me. Altough it will also work it would be my last choice. Here is sync master setting in squeeze commander app but seriously I don't even know if that's available in material or default skin and other apps.. I meant to say you need at least 1gb ram .. "for a smooth operation".. Not as minimum requirement.. I had LMS on rpi1b running max2play years ago for a long while, but I would not recommended anyone this experience now. Touch is not able to run LMS.. it's tinyLMS or whatever is called ,heavily limited and again not advisable to use (that's why community firmware completely removed it) Low powered devices might be ok for some people and small libraries but for recommendation to replace OPs ds214play I think rpi3b is minimum 3x Squeezebox Touch, 4x Squeezebox Radio, Squeezelite (RPi 3B with HiFiBerry DAC+Pro on OSMC), Material Skin Apk, Squeeze Commander, Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 with Material Skin (Docker in DS218+) Jaca's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58187 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115974 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I checked again and perhaps when selecting all music without audiobooks you only see music in artists, albums, and artists albums... You can find few tutorials on threads here to get it up and running.. Most people find it easy to follow and setup without problems but just so you know there are some rare occasions when people get some conflicts with other packages or Docker containers .. Most likely you will be fine I would advise you to upgrade to DSM7. Alternative is to stay on dsm 6.x and never upgrade Pearl or DSM.. Tbh it's not smth I would personally be happy to do when I can run LMS in Docker. "j" models don't support Docker so you can either downgrade Pearl and reinstall old LMS package (if you can get it from someone here) or run your LMS from other device like raspberry pi (PiCorePlayer) and point it to your music collection on your NAS. Stop current/old version => edit settings =>disable auto start and change ports to auto (in you in bridge mode)=>apply then open edit again for reference On 2nd tab download new lms image =>use identical settings as you had on old one (with correct ports) (make sure you point your /config to same folder as before) => start new one and you are updated 3x Squeezebox Touch, 4x Squeezebox Radio, Squeezelite (RPi 3B with HiFiBerry DAC+Pro on OSMC), Material Skin Apk, Squeeze Commander, Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 with Material Skin (Docker in DS218+) Jaca's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58187 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114501 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I don't understand how unistalling lms on old NAS will unsure you do that lose your settings and plugin stats? Seems weird.. Surely if you uninstall it on old NAS without backing up first you will loose everything.. What Am I missing here? Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Orbi Mesh and Inability to Connect
Do you have local LMS server or only use mysqueezebox.com? If you have any form of LMS server locally you can just pug it in to orbit and test local music playback with you tmobile switched off (completely from power) You will off course loose Internet connection for time of test but at least you can make sure if your orbi work with squeezeboxes. If it indeed still misbehaves with tmobile powered off which Paul suggested has been reported by others then you probably could think about alternative solution. If on other hand everything works ok with local playback and squeezeboxes don't go crazy then you just need to figure out what to do with tmobile (like disable wifi dhcp etc) or share functionality between tmobile and orbi if for instance tmobile won't let you do use it purely as model (in dmz mode etc 3x Squeezebox Touch, 4x Squeezebox Radio, Squeezelite (RPi 3B with HiFiBerry DAC+Pro on OSMC), Material Skin Apk, Squeeze Commander, Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 with Material Skin (Docker in DS218+) Jaca's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58187 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114379 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Orbi Mesh and Inability to Connect
Just thought that another possibility is that tmobile is connected to wan input of orbi in which case it's not strictly 2 dhcp on same subnet but still it won't work properly and similar problems remains.. Anyway it's guessing game for me..just try run it orbi only with just local playback to test so we have better picture 3x Squeezebox Touch, 4x Squeezebox Radio, Squeezelite (RPi 3B with HiFiBerry DAC+Pro on OSMC), Material Skin Apk, Squeeze Commander, Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 with Material Skin (Docker in DS218+) Jaca's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58187 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114379 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Usually on dumb access point you set its ip as static address from pool and same subnet of you main router assigns and use main router ip as your AP gateway IP.. If orbi does not allow to us it like that, then alternative would be to use tmobile as modem only or router in DMZ. In this case your orbi will assign IP addresses etc 3x Squeezebox Touch, 4x Squeezebox Radio, Squeezelite (RPi 3B with HiFiBerry DAC+Pro on OSMC), Material Skin Apk, Squeeze Commander, Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 with Material Skin (Docker in DS218+) Jaca's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58187 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114379 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

If you haven't chances are you have two routers serviing as dhcp server on same lan subnet which will indeed create havoc and unpredictable behaviour like sometimes working after reboot then stopping later.. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Request for Synology to upgrade LMS package to version (8.x)
See if that works https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?111876-LmsUpdate-and-LmsRepack-Synology-8-0-*-packages/page31&p=999039#post999039 Remember Playlist mapping need to be R/W (not read only as in my example) It terms of permissions, I recently tested in Virtual DSM setting it up from scratch and I hit same problem of docker container stopping after few seconds.. It was however easily solved: Here were my steps 1. Before setting up docker, in DSM control panel I created New Shared Folder "Docker" ( you can use other existing one) 2. During Docker wizard on Volumes Tab when mapping "/config" folder I selected my new shared folder "Docker" then clicked "New Folder" which I've named "LMS" and selected that as my mapping to "/config". At this stage when I've finished wizard and launched container, it was crashing. So one more step was required. 3. In File Station navigate to your folder "Docker/LMS", right click => Properties, On 2nd tab (Permissions) click "create" Select "Owner" in "User or Group" and assigned Write and Read Permissions ( I've also selected "Take ownership") Now when you run contained everything should work fine... (it did for me anyway) I didn't have to change any permissions in my music folder mapping and as it was only test system I didn't bother with playlist ( I assume it my need same permission trick as it needs to be Read/Write) Hope that makes sense.. If that's not successful there were others with console tricks to sort permissions problem.. just search forum.. ps. Also my previous tutorial was using host mode for Network as I had conflict with (later realized) stopped Pinkdot's package. I since uninstalled it and changed to bridge mode during LMS update and it works fine with 1 to 1 mapping. 3x Squeezebox Touch, 4x Squeezebox Radio, Squeezelite (RPi 3B with HiFiBerry DAC+Pro on OSMC), Material Skin Apk, Squeeze Commander, Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 with Material Skin (Docker in DS218+) Jaca's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58187 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113893 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

If it really is library views which you believe causes problem then you could also segregate music with basic tags.. You can have multiple genre tags with separator of your choice, so basically you could add genre tag "safe" which would be used in 10am random mix.. This in scenario with one main library maybe could work.? . I don't know.. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Player library views and random mix preferences interaction?
Don't shoot me.. Just brain storming workaround not proper solution.. :) How about: (if you libraries are not mega massive) -remove playlist limit -add all songs from a Alice library -save as playlist Alice -play with cron at time of choice and shuffle enable playlist Alice Once a while recreate playlist to include new songs or just add to playlist Like I said not proper solution but possibly workaround? 3x Squeezebox Touch, 4x Squeezebox Radio, Squeezelite (RPi 3B with HiFiBerry DAC+Pro on OSMC), Material Skin Apk, Squeeze Commander, Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 with Material Skin (Docker in DS218+) Jaca's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58187 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113861 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Player library views and random mix preferences interaction?
Maybe you could create library view containing songs from your 2 library views and just use that new view in random mix? Hmm I still feel I don't quite understand your goal :/ 3x Squeezebox Touch, 4x Squeezebox Radio, Squeezelite (RPi 3B with HiFiBerry DAC+Pro on OSMC), Material Skin Apk, Squeeze Commander, Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 with Material Skin (Docker in DS218+) Jaca's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58187 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113861 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Player library views and random mix preferences interaction?
Sorry, I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve but it sounds over complicated. I do use both library views and random mix with material skin inferface and apk and it gives you option to select genres from library View of your choice.. I don't think I ever tried or even know how to add other library view random mix songs to another view random mix playlist.. Hmm is that what you are trying to achieve? 3x Squeezebox Touch, 4x Squeezebox Radio, Squeezelite (RPi 3B with HiFiBerry DAC+Pro on OSMC), Material Skin Apk, Squeeze Commander, Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 with Material Skin (Docker in DS218+) Jaca's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58187 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113861 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

I'm running lmscommunity on DS218+ (in host mode).. I cannot remember but perhaps I had to tweak folder permissions, it was quite a while ago when first trying docker so not sure. In terms of mapping 2nd/3rd etc music source folder I used symlink and it works fine for me, especially with library views where I only access files form one of locations thru music folder (this folder isnt part of main library) I tried to put syno docker guide on pinkdots synology package thread but it doesn't includes folder permissions and it seems you got all other stuff already sorted anyway. 3x Squeezebox Touch, 4x Squeezebox Radio, Squeezelite (RPi 3B with HiFiBerry DAC+Pro on OSMC), Material Skin Apk, Squeeze Commander, Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 with Material Skin (Docker in DS218+) Jaca's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58187 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113490 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
