Visual annoyances after updating to SM 2.26.1
This comes under heading of unintended consequences. I just updated from SM 2.17.1 to 2.26.1. In browser: I have my preferences set to display a blank page on startup. In 2.17 that resulted in displaying a blank page *AND* an empty(blank) address bar. With 2.17 there is a reminder that the address bar is for address/search terms. I understand the logic behind the chain. Can I have back the desirable default? In mail/news: Signature block (correct term?) now appears in lighter type than body of the post. I find this annoying. With 2.17 there is a reminder that the address bar is for address/search terms. I understand the logic behind the chain. Can I have back the desirable default? In mail/news: Signature block (correct term?) now appears in lighter type than body of the post. I find this annoying. Once again, any work-around? P.S. I go back to Netscape days and this was one of the smoother upgrades. The signature block has always been lighter than the message body when viewing posted messages. Evidently not for Windows XP users. I notice your User Agent says Linux. It's always been lighter in plain text, but not the case for HTML. HTML signatures have recently been differentiated. trane -- / // Trane Francks tr...@tranefrancks.com Tokyo, Japan // Practice random kindness and senseless acts of beauty. ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

You're the second person to ask for this. userChrome.css Example: html|*.textbox-input::-moz-placeholder { color: #FFF; opacity: 0.0; } In your case you could set the opacity to 0. You may want to make this specific to the address bar. In mail/news: Signature block (correct term?) now appears in lighter type than body of the post. I find this annoying. Once again, any work-around? Currently we use opacity: 0.5 to simulate lighter type. Use userChrome.css to set the opacity back to 1.0. P.S. SamuelS wrote: Thank you, that worked, which means it is an add-on which is preventing the display. Maybe it is AdBlock do you think? Extensions are the most likely, although there can be other odd settings in the profile that can be disruptive (for which Safe Mode can also clear). AdBlock is definitely a potential culprit, as are other blocking tools, such as FlashBlock, NoScript and Ghostery. I've also seen occasional display problems by blocking cookies for particular sites. I run AdBlock and NoScript, and am not having any problems at Google Play, although a check of Adblock settings there (Shift-Ctrl-V) shows that I don't have anything blocked there. Might want to make sure that there aren't any settings blocking content.
