Try changing your UA String from:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:60.0)
Gecko/20100101

 Â Firefox/60.0 SeaMonkey/2.53.6
TO:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:85.0)
Gecko/20200101

 Â Firefox/85.0

Alas that didn't work.

Then try:
Menu 'Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced->HTTP Networking ->
[x] Identify As Firefox

Hi,

So you're going to the SeaMonkey website:
https://www.seamonkey-project.org/

then clicking on the donate menu option which takes you to:
https://www.seamonkey-project.org/donate/

Then clicking on the paypal link?

I don't seems to have an option to select a country.

I think you missed the line:

Adding more than 10 total has caused the deletion of mailboxes in excess

Probably not but don't forget that SeaMonkey is more or less a frontend.
So this would need to be done very early during startup when the profile
is selected but not loaded. I don't think it can be done safely in
SeaMonkey code so this needs to be implemented in core code owned by
Mozilla. Also only for Windows. If you want it raise a bug against core.
If it gets implemented we would just need a ui for it.

I've done that too on many occasions, and this indeed solves many

to delete the local profiles folder at startup, before creating a new
one. I don't mind if if there would be a switch to enable or disable
this feature.

I suppose it can't be too difficult to do this.

Just write a quick Batch File run from the desktop to delete the profile
and then start Seamonkey avoiding any changes to Seamonkey and it would
perform the deletion on every startup.

HTML is HTML no matter the version and with a text editor and a little

taken from:

https://www.linux.com/learn/tutorials/537364:comparing-bluegriffon-and-bluefish-which-open-source-web-editor-is-right-for-you

 BlueGriffon

While Bluefish makes the HTML and JavaScript front-and-center,
BlueGriffon attempts to provide a what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG)
Web authoring environment. The page source is always available in a
separate tab, of course, but the idea behind the editor is to let you

BlueGriffon

BlueGriffon

BlueGriffon is built on Mozilla code, and uses the Gecko renderer to
produce this WYSIWYG page interface, which could impact your decisions
if you need to optimize pages for Safari, IE, or another browser. The
code base has had many ups and downs over the years — it started from
the old Mozilla Composer editor component in the days before Firefox and
Thunderbird were spun out as separate projects. For a while the
application was known as Nvu, but developer Daniel Glazman discontinued
it, and later started up BlueGriffon as its successor. Glazman announced
the project in 2008, but the first releases did not appear until 2010.
He maintains it independently, raising funds by selling Web-editing

(I know; I use Bluefish.)

If you looked at my web site first glance you would not be able to tell
what I used to create it and most people will not care. Because I know
how to write code I decided that I do not need CSS to create it.

As far as HTML5 goes, most of the comments I have seen have been about
how do disable it on web site folks have been visiting.

Your are all hooked up on what Composer will not do for you instead of
learning how to write HTML code yourself. With a book and a text editor
you can write code to support any function you need.

Heck, you can even Google for the function you are looking for and cut
and paste it into your code and you will understand more of what you are
putting together than having some program put something together that
you do not understand and cannot debug or hook other code into.

To answer your question, yes I know what CSS is, yes I know what HTML5
is and discovered that I do not need either to build a web site that
conveys exactly what I want it to without a lot of gimmicky code which
adds no value to me or to the person that visits my site.

To steer back to the original point of the discussion, Composer is far
easier to use and create WYSIWYG HTML pages than Blue Griffon is.

This is my last comment on this subject..

The Composer is seriously out-of-date, and hasn't been touched in well

get and install the latest iteration. Since Mozilla abandoned Composer, it
has been picked up and since been called NVu, KompoZer, and now
BlueGriffon. Download here: http://bluegriffon.org/

See also: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BlueGriffon

You are better off using the 'outdated' Composer than you are using Blue
Griffon.

Composer is truly WYSIWYG while Blue Griffon is a 'hack'!

I use a combination of Netscape Composer 4.79 and Notepad for my HTML
work as later versions of Seamonkey Composer became somewhat convoluted.

Perhaps Composer is okay for your web site, but authors wishing to use new
technologies such as html5 and CSS will be better served with BlueGriffon.

HTML is HTML no matter the version and with a text editor and a little

I use 2.17 for daily stuff mainly because of Password Manager and the

I also still use Netscape Composer 4.79 to build and maintain my website

How can I actually delete it from my H.D.?

1 - Go to the Chrome directory.

2 - Do a 'Select all' (Control A).

3 - Right click on highlighted files and directories.

4 - Click on Delete.

5 - If you get the Admin Permissions error, go to the directory you get
the error on and repeat steps 2 - 4.

6 - If you can delete all but one or two files in one or more Chrome
sub-directories, do a system restart and repeat the process.

Reason you cannot delete the root directory for Chrome is that some of
the sub-directories use 'inherited permissions' and must be removed
before the root directory can be removed.

There is a handy tool called 'Take Ownership' which makes resolving this

What I don't understand is how this helps the terrorists achieve any of

Once I get my re-install of W7 sorted out I will do that. Thanks for
the suggestion.

However, I doubt that's the answer (although ('m more than willing to be
surprised!). With SM NOT running at all I do not have this issue on the
system. Nothing else hangs. Only SM and only when Mail/News is
running. And also when Thunderbird is running and nothing else. It's
something in the Mail/News core. As I mentioned before I was
considering moving to Firefox and Thunderbird and quitting SM. So I
tested it. As soon as I ran TB the problem arose.

And, somtimes, it hangs the whole system. Can't toggle windows, click
on the Taskbar, etc. Sometimes the SM windows (all of them) will either
grey out or go totally blank for 5, 10, 15 seconds or more, their title
bars say a Windows message of SeaMonkey is not responding, but
eventually their video refreshes (like now!!!) and the windows are back
to normal. and I can hear the PC fans ramp up and go wild as the CPU
usage skyrockets.

Almost seems like an interaction between my video card/drivers and SM.
But I've been using this same card and drive since I upgraded to W7 in
October '09. Just started this nonsense about 18 months ago. And it's
getting worse.

However, as I've said, no other apps cause anything like this on this
system. Nor no other combination of apps. And it isn't happening on
any of my other three systems in the house.

This is maddening!

BTW, I just clicked Send on this. The fans in my PC went nuts, SM
froze. I opened Task Manager and SM CPU usage was crazy. It's settle
down now, allowing me to type this.

The fact that the problem is only encountered when mail/news are/is
active suggests that something is actively monitoring those functions
and in doing so causes an apparent Seamonkey 'hang' by removing the
focus from Seamonkey while some checking is being performed (thus the
cpu usage) which results in greyed-out options and the 'not responding'
indication.

As you have experienced, if you wait long enough, the focus comes back
to Seamonkey and all is well. That is why the suggestion to run windows
in 'Safe Mode with Networking' to eliminate most possibilities that it
is a Windows security function causing the problem.

This site works from IE so it does not appear to be an issue with SM. I
have un-installed and reinstalled both SM and Java and done an extensive
cleaning of the registry as well as deleted Java folders with data in

The only thing all this accomplished was to now cause the first error

Because different pages are developed using different software and for

That page has code that Seamonkey can render correctly but cannot print

A simple work-around is to click on FILE then Edit Page, that will open

Another author problem. It's the same in Firefox, and while all the text
is visible in an Opera print preview, it's totally messed up.

I think it is because the Gecko print engine is confused by the
misplacement of the JavaScript for the banner (which is unnecessarily in
an iframe), and puts the content of it in the hard-coded 137pixel-wide
navigation column. The JavaScript is completely outside the document
beginning and ending.

That code looked new in 1995. Maybe. Write to the author if you feel
disgruntled enough.

I do not have a problem viewing this page using SM 1.1.19 if I spoof FF
3.6.3.

I am not running the latest release of Java. I am running 1.6.0.20

I would not do that. I never have any software update automatically. I

I can see why you would not, I used to be like that too. I wanted

So thanks for your input.
Anyone know where I can find the Java control panel so I can select

Do a file search on your system for Javacpl.cpl. If found, click on it
and it will bring up the Java Control Panel.

If it is not found, check to see if Java is listed under Add/Remove
Programs.

If it is listed, uninstall it, then go to Sun.com and download the
latest release of Java.

Install it and that should give you your Control Panel icon back at
which point you can reset Automatic Updates.

Actually I think it is set to auto-update by default.

I'm also still, on some computers, still a Eudora user even though that

of unusable with poor current standards support. So perhaps I'm just an
anachronism wishing still for the days of 110baud teletype BBSs again ;)

Anyone want to wax philosophical about this?

Hawker

In two words...Integration and Options!!

I originally purchased Netscape Navigator Gold as a development tool
because it had the browser, HTML editor and mail all in one package. It
also included a multitude of other applications.

I stayed with Netscape 4.79 until the Mozilla Foundation brought out the
Mozilla Suite because I did not like the newer versions of Netscape.

I have always liked the installation options allowing me to install only
the suite applications that I wanted keeping space requirements down and
reducing the number of options in program menus.

Because I download vast amounts of data, I really need all of the
seemingly incidental options like being prompted to save a file to a
default directory or a directory of my liking with a file name that I
want as in SM 1.1.18.

I love the ability to capture a web page I have uploaded to my web site
and perform corrective / enhancement edits to it all in one environment.

With over 60 online accounts that require user name and password entry,
the password manager in SM 1.1.18 is absolutely indispensable.

Because SM is used in a business environment here, stability is a must,
and we have had that with Netscape, Mozilla Suite and SM up to 1.1.18.

I am hopeful that once things settle down from the major changes that SM
2.0 required internally, and the volunteer staff catch their breath, we
will see the return of some of our most liked options.

Not sure if you tried this yet.

When you click on a saved .tef file in Windows Explorer does your TE
program open the file?

If yes then your TE program is the default Windows .TEF file handler.

If no, you need to set that up via Windows File Manager Tools Folder
Options File Types.

If yes, you may also need to set up a 'Helper Application' definition in SM.

Do that with SM Edit Preferences Navigator Helper Applications. Check
the file list and see if there is an application listed to open a .TEF
file. If not, you will need to define one so SM knows how to handle a
.TEF file and /or which application to use.

Just use one of the existing applications listed for a template.

I've noticed for a while That on many sites now the password Manager

You should not have to install additional software to make a function in

Password Manager does not function correctly in that it indeed only
works some of the time.

It does not appear to have a problem with standard HTTP: sites but is
unpredictable with HTTPS secure sites.

Connecting to my Capital One secure account and clicking on my User ID
does nothing. Double clicking on my User Id results in a drop down list
with my ID. The Password field is prefilled with asterisks and double
clicking on it highlights the asterisks the field.

Connecting to my Comerica secure account and clicking on the User ID box
does nothing. Double clicking on my User ID does nothing either. However
if I double click on my User ID, then double click on my Password and
then go back and double click on my User ID my User ID appears in a drop
down list. At first I thought this was a timing issue but after waiting
5 minutes for something to happen proved that this was not the case.

Connecting to my Chase secure account, nothing works. Single clicks,
double clicks, in one field, in all fields, I get absolutely no response.

Because I have over 60 user accounts and passwords for on line ordering
and financial management this is a very important required function.
Without it SM 2.0 is not usable to me so I will continue to use 1.1.18
in hopes that this problem will be resolved.

Excepting one other problem, I do like the new version and appreciate

SAVE AS Functionality Gone

I normally save copies of online invoices and other data using the SAVE
AS feature in the Save Page As, Save Target As and Save Image As. I see
that all three have been removed from SM 2.0.

This presents a real inconvenience in that I can no longed edit on line

only save the original to the default file download location.

This is not what I was expecting from SM 2.0 as it has been and, I
thought, is supposed to be a Suite with all the bells and whistles.

PLEASE put these functions back to allow those of us who use Seamonkey

PLEASE put these functions back to allow those of us who use Seamonkey

I do appreciate and thank all involved for the effort that goes into the

It isn't gone. I right clicked on an image link, and had both Save
Image As, and Save Link Target As, as options.

I clicked on a link to a pdf, and had both Save Link target As and Save
Page As for options.

The File menu also has Save Page As for an option.

Can you go into a little more detail on your problem, maybe with a
couple of examples of where it is not working for you?

Problem Resolved...

I should have known better than to think the Save As functions had been
eliminated.

I created a new profile and low and behold there they all were. Now I
wonder why when doing a migration from SM 1.1.18 the Save As functions
are missing from all menus? Guess I will find out as I manually rebuild
my old profiles.

Anyway, thanks for the nudge Lee

Glad to hear it.

With transferred profiles from here, its working just fine. Did you
perhaps have an extension in SM 1.1.18 that allowed you to edit the
context menus? Since the migration wizard does not tranfer extensions,
that might have caused a glitch. That's a simple guess on my part.

Lee

Lee, found that in the Download section if you select 'Save File To' it
does indeed change the 'Save Page As' to 'Save Page', 'Save Target As'
to 'Save Target' and 'Save Image As' to Save Image'. It also disables
your ability to select a location other than the one you selected as the
default location.

Selecting 'Always Ask Me Where To Save Files' restores the 'AS' option.

In SM 1.1.18 you can specify a default download location AND have the
download manager prompt you for an alternate location. I am going to
miss having the option to do both as I do not always want a download to
go to my default location.

SM2 Password Manager Unpredictable

2009-10-29 Thread stango

Password Manager does not function correctly in that it does not appear
to have a problem with standard HTTP: sites but is unpredictable with
HTTPS: secure sites.

I included the web addresses so that the pages can be viewed for the way
they are coded. Not having an account you obviously cannot test the
login process.

Connecting to my Capital One secure account
https://servicing.capitalone.com/c1/login.aspx and clicking on my User
ID does nothing. Double clicking on my User Id results in a drop down
list with my ID. The Password field is prefilled with asterisks and
double clicking on it highlights the asterisks the field.

Connecting to my Comerica secure account
https://webbanking.comerica.com/comerica/login.aspx and clicking on the
User ID box does nothing. Double clicking on my User ID does nothing
either. However if I double click on my User ID, then double click on my
Password and then go back and double click on my User ID my User ID
appears in a drop down list. At first I thought this was a timing issue
but after double clicking on the User ID and waiting 15 minutes for
something to happen I concluded that this was not the case.

Connecting to my Chase secure account
https://www.chase.com/credit-cards.htm, nothing works.

Excepting one other problem, I do like the new version and appreciate
the effort that goes into bringing a project like this into the world.

Re: SM 2 Composer: no hyperlink active in Preview

2009-10-28 Thread stango

JR WG wrote:

RE: SM 2 Composer, possibly total insanity?

System: Windows all -- Repeatable in all Win OS systems

In the SM 2 Composer, in Preview, none of the links are enabled(!)

Hence, users can not click on a link in Composer Preview mode, and have that
link opened in a browser...in this case the preferred browser would of course
be SM 2.

Double-clicking on the link -- on the hyperlink -- does nothing but open the link properties, but nothing else. No amount of CTRL, SHIFT, ALT or anything else makes the link work.

Something perfectly logical is totally missing here.

The same situation in ANY other HTML editor that has anywhere near a Preview function of course enables the link, allowing it to become hot and ready to work or test... e.g., moving the mouse or pointer over the hypertext link produces the enabled and confirmed little pointing finger.

There's no SM 2 or Composer preferences setting either; one that would allow enable links in Preview mode or not allow it.

Not trying to be mean, but is this lack of common operating procedure in SM 2's
Composer Preview actually intended to be this totally limited way ?

If so, that's a major overlooked problem...not a special SM 2 feature

Joe

Joe,

While in Composer, Preview simply gives you an 'dumb' overview of the
page you are working on. To get an 'active' view, you need to click on
BROWSE at which point all of your links will be enabled and you can
click an connect to local and remote links. To return to the editor,
close the browser screenthis is the way the composer has always
worked for me since Netscape 4.7.

Brooke, was it a typo that you typed C:\DOCUME~1/ rather than
C:\DOCUME~1\???

If I were you, I would save the file to your hard disk then scan it with
your updated virus detector, then I'd try to view it (right click on the
saved scanned file and *OPEN* with your image viewer program of choice.

For Seamonkey goto Edit Pref Helper Apps. Scroll down to see if a
default .jpg handler is defined. If there is one, delete it as it is
invalid. If there is not one then:

Goto Desktop My computer C:\ Tools Folder Options File Types.
Scroll down to .JPG and see what the default file association is. If
none is defined you need to set it to the photo viewer of your choice
for .jpg files.
