WinEyes 9.5.4
Hi Doug, Was looking forward to upgrade of WinEyes 9.5.4 to 9.5.5. Unable to access start menu since 9.5.4. I am using Windows 10, 4GB ram quad core Gateway. Have to kill and restart WinEyes to be able to access the start menu Since 9.5.4. Down graded back to avoid this issue. ___ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared. RE: control, alt, W no longer starts or restarts WE
Hi Pam, I'm sorry, but this is too much thinking overtime. Yes, Control-Alt-W will restart Window-Eyes, but so will finding Window-Eyes on the Start menu, and choosing it. The simple fact is that there is nothing built into Window-Eyes that makes Control-Alt-W work. The icon is what does it. Re: control, alt, W no longer starts or restarts WE
If you can'f find a way to fix the problem in Window-Eyes, try this: First, let me say that I am running Win7, so the details may be slightly different. In the Windows search box, type "window-e" You should get a list of items. Highlight the one that says "Window-Eyes" Press the context (applications) key and then the letter R to open properties. This should show you the entire path for the Window-Eyes program, ending with dot e x e. Tab to the shortcut key field and type in the letter w and tab to OK and press enter. If you prefer to have a shortcut icon on the desktop: Folow the above instructions until you find Window-Eyes .exe press the context key and then the letter n (stands for send to) Arrow to the save as desktop icon. Once the icon is on the desktop, you can still set the shortcut key by highlighting the icon and following the instructions as stated above by pressing the context key and then r, etc. Carol On 6/7/2017 6:10 PM, Loy via Talk wrote: control, alt, W no longer starts or restarts WE, will I have to reinstall WE to fix this, or is there a setting in WE control panel for this? ___ Any views or opinions presented in this email are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Ai Squared. purpose of the scroll lock key
Hi, Thanks to those who answered my query regarding the scroll lock key. My purpose for asking was that I am looking for a different modifier key for my numerous Auto Hot Key macros. Maybe the scroll lock key may fill the bill. WE has worked happily with these macros for years and would not like to be without many of them. Since switching to Jaws, there seems to be a sort of clash with some of the keys although Jaws does not use these particular combinations. Well, according to the Jaws help anyway. In Jaws, I had to listen to a whole lot of verbage before I found where I was. I could change the dropdown to various accounts, but it was hit or miss, and in that area the numpad arrows didn't seem to work. CNTRL-HOME took me to the top, or if I couldn't get that to work tab or shift-tab got me out of the quick transaction area. It is a whole lot of trial and a lot of error. In the quick transaction area Jaws did say "3 rows 5 columns" but I wasn't sure how to use that info. I can use W-E for now, but eventually, especially with Win10, I'm going to have a problem. Any suggestions on how to use my banking site in Jaws as I do with W-E? Brenda On 6/7/2017 2:44 PM, Chris G via Talk wrote: Before you start to arrow through the combo box, try alt-down arrow first. RE: combo boxes and drop down boxes
Hi Brenda, On my banking site here in Canada, I use to struggle with a combo box until I learned that if I search for the label of the account I'm looking for, say, savings, I can go to the detailed activity in that account by simply clicking the account's labelled link. Re: all my installed w e apps are gone
In your default folder where all your apps and setfiles are, you should find 2 files: wineyes.ini and wineyes.ini.bak These files store some other information first, but at the end of your file, you should find a numbered list of all of your installed apps. These numbers may not be in order, but if the wineyes.ini.back has more of your apps, rename wineyes.ini to wineyes.ini.old and then rename wineyes.ini.bak to wineyes.ini Then close window-eyes, and restart the program. hth, Jeff weiss -Original Message- From: Neville via Talk Sent: Tuesday, June 06, 2017 6:32 PM To: Jeff Weiss via Talk Subject: Re: all my installed w e apps are gone Hi, Does anyone know if all the WE apps are stored in the Default folder? Hi Marvin, Wow, you use 3 screen readers. I'm having enough trouble learning jaws. I keep trying to use W-E commands in jaws. Fortunately, Window-eyes doesn't freeze (hhh) with TB.
