Ctrl-Backspace in MicroEd
Hi Tbbeta, After having used the Plain Text(Windows)-editor for years, I wanted to try out MicroEd again to see what the changes are. It appears that the same problem that annoyed me years ago still persists: When I Press Ctrl-Delete a few times to delete some words, I can only delete until I reach the beginning of a line. There I can keep pressing Ctrl-Del as often as I want, the cursor doesn't move, it doesn't bring me up to the previous line to delete the previous word. I have to release the Ctrl button, press Backspace to get to the line above, and then continue deleting words with Ctrl-Del. If you're used to deleting a few words in a row with Ctrl-Del, this is really annoying, because every time you reach the beginning of a line, Ctrl-Del stops working. In the Windows editor everything works fine. The strange is, that the name of the account, and the charset are always visible. If there is not enough space, the editor type, between them, will disappear. Yes, that's it, it depends on the width of the editor window and the resulting space in the status bar. Some of my accounts had longer names, so there was not enough space on the status bar and the field disappeared if I chose MicroEd. It's definitly not a good solution, because a) this field disappears when the window is too small, even though this is not the right-most field, so the user gets surprised. b) Whether the field gets displayed or not depends on what format you chose, because it seems that more space is required for displaying Plain text (MicroEd) than for displaying e.g. HTML Only. This is very confusing for the user. Either the field should be there are not, but not depending on what you select in it. For my personally it's ok now that I know it, though. Common Replied Filter no longer works with v.4.0.7
Hello Fellow Beta Testers, I have defined a common read filter, called Reply Needed, that allows me to set the color group and assign the message so marked to a virtual folder where it awaits a reply. Here is that filter. This one works in 4.0.7. TB! Message Filter beginFilter UID: [26B18A20.01C62A80.70864B1F.4A5BF79F] Name: Set\20color\20to\20Reply\20Needed Filter: {\0D\0A\20`21\0D\0A} SetColour 1302808744 MarkUnread IsManual IsActive IsHotkey IsHotkeyOnly Ignore endFilter Then I also have a common replied filter that changes the color group back to the generic color group (i.e., none) when I get around to replying to those messages in that virtual folder. Here is that replied filter. This is the filter that no longer works in 4.0.7. TB! 4.0.7: Send to error
I get a repeatable error which results in a Microsoft message telling me that we are sorry... This occurs when I right click and choose send to The Bat. If I click don't send, the message closes and TB seems unaffected, but (this is not repeatable but happens frequently) I get an AV message and must kill TB using Task Manager. I have had to roll back all the way to 3.99.x to avoid this situation. Any confirmations? failure to properly handle mailto: in VISTA
When I read that if you try to run TB! and it's already running, I tried to test, and discovered that the registration of TB! as default email program was messed up. (the programs at the very top of the start menu) I ran set default programs to try to repair. This produces a list or programs one can choose. that list included msie and firefox, irfanview, itunes, windows, calendar, windows contacts, windows mail, and some other windows utilities. TB! is not there. Seems to be built on file associations, and what windows offers (although I don't think I have any files associated with firefox. Hello Rick, You said it. I have abandoned the _campaign_, but I still play and experiment every now and then. See attached. I have been experimenting also. I move all the mail into common folders rather than work on a per account basis I don't use any common folders, and neither any common filters. I personally see no real advantage in using them. Actually, common folders belong to a pseudo-account that doesn't have an Inbox or Outbox and can't send or receive, that's all. I made a virtual folder that shows the contents of all the out boxes. AV with new stable 4.0.7
Hello, I upgraded to TheBat 4.07 yesterday, and I am getting crashes with this new version, everytime I call thebat.exe when the program is already running. I use Mailwasher Pro to filter spam out of my mailbox before it is downloaded by TheBat. Therefore, after deleting the trash out of my inbox, TheBat.exe is called as thebat.exe /NOLOGO /CHECKALL. This works fine the first time, when TheBat wasn't already running, but on the second time (and every attempt thereafter) I download new mail I get an access violation, very similar to the one reported by Jens Franik here before: thebat.exe - Application Error The exception unkonwn software exception (0x0eedfade) occurred in the application at location 0x7c812a5b. After dismissing the error dialog, mail is downloaded normally. I can reproduce this error by just calling thebat.exe twice in a DOS box, without any parameters. Deleting the anti-virus plug-in didn't solve the issue. Needless to say that I didn't get this error with the former stable version I was using (3.98.4). Since June 2007 this is the first stable version where S/MIME seems to work (as I reported on BT), but unfortunately now I can't download mail without getting an error dialog on each attempt, unless I close TheBat first. So it seems that I have to downgrade again to version 3.98.4 ... Cheers, Ulrich Peters Current beta is 4.0.7 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
