Q:Why does filtering not work so good ?

2011-02-28 Thread F.P.
Hi,

i guess that a answer ist difficult, i expect none.
I dont understand the problem in that filtering mode in TB!. Why does it not
work so easy ? Are my configuration wrong ?
At the weekend i test around with fastmail and my own webspace, Opera,
Thunderbird, Android and Evolution. With none of them i have one problem to
filter messages and move them to other folders. The only one thats does not
work as expected is, sorry, TB!.

I have 4 filters.
If subject is someting - move that to folder TB_beta
I sender is. something - move that to folder something

Not so heavy to understand that filtering.

Hi,

are You starting philosophical thread?

not if we can get IMAP filtering to work.

did You checked Statistics tab of filters, if they are executed?
No stats for automatic filters since version 5.and, philosophical, no
reaction for that issue.
Since 0.139 ReFilters is not working anymore, only for one messages. I have
to press Refilter 10 times to filter 10 mails, back to *.138 ist works
with ReFilter.

copy and paste filters You have problem with, we can check them. Otherwise,
we can do nothing...

How did i do that ? Is there a txt file with filters inside or do you need a
copy from tha GUI ?
Want send my filters to the mailinglist, or should i blank some phrases ?
Cant find a Debug-Switch to get some extended logs.

Not at my installation if these filters have to do more than 2 messages per
filter.
Thats why i ask about debug or anything else. There are no entrys in the
defautl log about filtering, also if i set these option in filter-option.
For me there is no way to see why a filter ist working on two mails and
broken behind the second mail.
It looks like that TB ist working better an Win XP than on Win7 64, dont now
why.

5.0.0.144 Mailbox not found

2011-02-28 Thread Stuart Cuddy
Hello Tbbeta,

Although this is not new to this version, it has become worse. I am receiving
this message (Mailbox not found) in various accounts on a regular basis. In the
end everything still seems to work, but not smoothly. It often requires me to
disconnect and then reconnect and then it seems to work.

This seems to happen when the log says SELECT , Mailbox not found. Where
normally you would see SELECT Inbox or whichever account.

Is anyone else seeing this?

Remote vs Local Sent folder

2011-02-28 Thread Stuart Cuddy
Hello Tbbeta,

I have a problem/question regarding the remote vs local folders. Specifically
the Sent folder. I read my mail on 2 computers. The first one I set up to use a
remote Sent folder, but I never set the other one up for quite some time, until
I
noticed that the remote Sent folder was not set up.

At this point I decided I should be using the remote folder so I set the second
computer to use the remote as well. When I did this the second computer's
local
Sent folder disappeared along with all the messages stored in it.

First question, do those messages still exist?
Second question, can they be recovered?
Third question, should this be allowed to happen? Is it not possible to look at
the local folder and see it has messages and then offer to move those messages
to the remote folder?

Thanks for the workaround. So, you confirm this as a bug? The user

So it's an unfixable bug, because it's really a Pandora's box. I used

can't say I can argue with you or Stef. I just don't understand this
stuff any more. I will take your work for it that this cannot be
improved. Thanks for your reply.

I will ask my friends how these mails display in Outlook though, if
you don't mind. Yes, the same friends who laugh at me when I have
problems with HTML mail display/creation in TB!. If they agree that it
is simply impossible to display the mails with the UTF-8 characters
correctly on first try, I will have a field day! :-)

2011-02-28 Thread CE YI

Since 14x version, when I right-click on the toolsbar, then select 'Customise',
it gives me an AV.
Also the hint (even the toolbar icon as shown in the pic) still has some
display problem. this is because my system locale. my system is win7-en
but under system locale, for non-unicode programs I use Chinese. If I change it
to En, hints seem all right
