Re-installed TB!
Hello Tbbetaophiles, Following MAU's directions exactly given last Sunday on re-installing TB! solved most of the problems. For about 30 seconds (hyperbole here) the program was working beautifully and the spell checkers were all wonderful. The toolbars looked very nice, the whole program has a clean and fresh look. THEN, I tried upping from the distributed msi to the latest build and the whole thing fell apart. I know this is not descriptive, but the program wouldn't even load, and immediately I repeated the stripping/reinstalling and had it all together again. Could there be something wrong in the rar files that are being sent through? I did have trouble opening Maxim's file in Opera and so was using Firefox to do it - but clearly something is amiss there. Everyone seems to have such a variety of messes going on that I wonder if all the incremental upticks of these files aren't corrupting each other? Maybe we can't just install these over the old, as was the usual, save your breath, save your life? A case of :batbeer: to you, Miguel, for helping take the anxiety out of this process. Spell Check Icon
Hello Tbbeta, I'm told that the red checkmark in this icon is an old MS style from the early days. The logic of it is nice: the ABC meaning Spell, and the checkmark meaning Check. But what is needed now is a button that only shows the checkmark when speller is ON. Should a wish be developed on this? Also, what would be helpful is when the spell check is on or off to have that information appear in the Tool-tips with mouse hover. Now, the tool-tips give the same message Automatic Spell Checking when the mouse is over the button regardless of whether on or off. -- Best regards, Maggie ~~~ Running Windows XP, and emailing with The Bat! 4.0.14 Current beta is 4.0.14.3 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

S If you are using microedit, try right clicking on the blank space S beside the menu bar. I get a choice of 2 things Standard and S Formatting. It is the formatting menu that contains Insert Smile. Oh, that was too easy! It's nice to have the secret codes. :whisper: Thanks a bunch. :sun: -- Regards, Maggie Using The Bat! 3.81.18 RC2 on Windows XP 1 Current beta is 3.81.18 RC2 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

Two programs: I have a program that gives an error message saying there's no mapi installed. I had complained years ago about this but no one knew how to address my problem. The error message reads: -- Solar Fire --- Windows report that you do not have a MAPI enabled email program. The email functions in Solar Fire will probably fail to work. --- OK --- Another is the word processor Atlantis http://www.atlantiswordprocessor.com/en/. When I try to email a document, it brings up TB's window but no message. The program goes into a white screen program not responding configuration now. I did work briefly at some point, but is not now working. Other users of these programs who use Outlook and mail programs like Eudora report no problems. When I've reported to the developers they say that TB! is non-standard. -- Regards, Maggie Never impose your language on people you wish to reach.
