I don't think this is a real problem. TB can use a url whitelist to accept the

From recent v3.0.9.x beta, this feature had been added. It's very convenient for
me to see the full name of folders when I navigate the folder hierarchy. But the
Unread/Total column would be out of the pane when I expand the folder trees. and
I have to scroll the pane to see these two. IMO, there should be an option to
turn off this feature.

Is it a glitch? when mailserver doesnt support NOOP?

2005-05-28 Thread Ming Chang
Hello All,

One of my pop3 mailboxs, doesn't support NOOP command while dispatching. It
disconnect my TB every 30 sec. The dispatcher, of course, close after server
disconnection. If I have large quantities emails(500+), I don't think I have
enough time to dispatch all messages before dispatcher close. Why must
dispatcher close when server time out? Have you tried Foxmail? Its Remote
Manager never close when server disconnect and it would re-connect to server
when you click "Execute" button.

Re: [Usability] The most un-obvious things

2005-05-31 Thread Ming Chang
Hello 9Val,

Here is my list.

1. Unicode/DBCS support

This is a long time wish. Why I still stay in v3.01.33? Because the DBCS support
of new v3.5.x is very bad. And the majority of my emails are DBCS messages...
:-(

What we need is not only RichViewEdit but also MicroEd fully support
Unicode/DBCS ;-)

2. Line spacing setting

currently, I cannot set the linespacing in TB. I'd like to use large font in
message viewer/editor, because my eyesight is not good. But the default
line-height
in TB is not suitable for me, I'd like to use 150% or 200% line-spacing, but I
cannot do so in TB presently

3. Account profile

Also a long time wish. For example, one mailbox is checked by LAN connection at
office and by dial-up at home. TB should introduce the "account profile" to
solve this problem. Just like becky.

4. Dispatcher Off-Line mode

As I've written in mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] There should be a
option to enable off-line dispatcher. It is very useful for dispatching a
non-standard server or a standard server through poor internet connection

5. Universal Template Manager

IMO, current template organization of TB is quit confusing. Each folder has its
own template, each AB entry has its template, each account has its template and
there is also the QTs. It's hard to remember what folder/account/contact a
single QT or template is belong to. Please look at the Foxmail. It has a
Universal Template manager. You can define your template in it. And in each
account property, you can simply specify which template it should use.

6. Universal mailing list manager

In becky, you can setup the properties of a mailing list such as
posting/subscribe/unsubscribe/contact admin/get help or other commands in a
common manager. It can also auto create corresponding filters in filter manager
to filter incoming mailing list messages

7. Context menu in folder selection dialog

VF|property|select folder,
real folder|property|watch by
Mail Ticker|select folder... etc
In these folder selection dialog, I'd like to select one folder and its
sub-folder
together. How about introducing a context menu just like message finder folder
selection tab? IMO, it would be very convenient.

8. Mail Address Format in Message List View

I'd like to specify Mail Address Format of some messages as "Name " or
"Address (Name)" or Name only or Address only or just "AS IS".

9. Separate font for each CharSet

Each charset should have its own font/size setting. because one font/size may be
suitable for some charset only and not fit for others. For example, Using MS San
Serif/Courier New for western charset is good. But it look so ugly while apply
to Asian charset.

10. Better re-threading

In v3.5.x, I must break the thread if I connect a message to a wrong parent, and
re-connect it to the correct parent message. I'd like to see the feature that I
can move a message(with its sub-branch) inside a thread freely.

Yes, so how about give us the ability to choose predefine template or input
folder/contact/account specified template. Just like the scheduler, the

I've known this method and currently use it. But do you think it is convenient?
This approach can only include the shared QT. If you have 50+ shared QTs come
from separate accounts. It would be a tough job to locate the account which a
single QT belongs to(for further modification purpose).

It's true that I can place all the QTs in a dumb account and share them. But to
remember 50+ QTs name also is a tough job. A drop down listbox in acount /
folder / contact template tab is a good option. Just like create/send message
action in scheduler

In fact, current QT manager need some tweak. It should introduce a common
category, shared QT - any QT specified "shared" in each account should also be
placed in this category. It should support search function, so we can find
designated QTs. Thus, it would be also a nice "universal template manager"

I've used v3.5 for translation purpose. The QT manager of v3.5 only add two
feature - reply QT and shortcut key. It doesn't have the search function, shared
QTs category which I've mentioned in previous mail. Thus, it still is not a nice
"universal template manager". (of course, just according to my criterion :-) )

It is unstable here (DBCS OS). The unicode/DBCS support is still poor in 3.6x

How to assign a hotkey to a QT?

2004-12-06 Thread Ming Chang
Hello All,

I'm using MyMacros currently. It's said that clipboard QT would be useful
if assigned to a hotkey: http://en.barin.com.ua/soft/mymacros/examples.html
But I've check the shortcut key editor and found nothing. :-( Pressing
ctrl+space after type the handle of QT seems to be the only way to insert QT
by using so-called "hotkey". Is it possible to assign a key to a QT?

Any reply would be greatly appreciated.

The DBCS support of v3.02 series is bad. Do you have any plan to improve it? Or
delay it to later beta cycle?

MM> Do you speak about the MicroEd editor?

No, I mean the windows editor. From v3.022 beta, the windows editor module had
been changed significantly. Auto-spellchecker and other extra features are added
into windows editor, but the DBCS support of windows editor was broken after
that.

And the DBCS support of HTML editor is bad, after v3.0 IIRC.

[OTFE]Attachment lost if original files are deleted

2004-12-25 Thread Ming Chang
Hello All,

Activate OTFE mode, and
1. new a message,
2. select some files on my desktop as attachment,
3. send the mail,
4. delete the original files on desktop,
Then, back to send mail folder to see the attachments are gone(0 bytes).

Deactivate OTFE mode, select "bind attachments only while sending out mails"
option, and do step 1-4 mentioned above, the attachments of sent message is
missing(0 bytes) too.

v2.x doesn't have this problem.

https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=4186

Can anybody confirm it? TIA

The attachments are imported to message base only when I uncheck the "bind
attachments only while sending out mails" option.

I must say that the DBCS support of the windows editor of this build is still
broken. v3.0.1.33 is the last build which support DBCS well.
