Not to me. Then again, I have not been involved in beta testing TB

I'm still curious what they mean - or is it a secret? :)

Since I have not received a clear answer, I will assume that the name

That did the trick. Thanks!

Perhaps I was causing corruption of the tbuser.def by having this
conflict, re: in blanked out menus. If that is the case, then it
should probably be error checked for that (rather than causing a
conflict (or corruption). As I said, since I created a new one a few

More issues regarding shortcuts in 3.51.10

2005-07-30 Thread Wayne Howard
Over the past several weeks, we have discussed problems and changes
regarding the tbuser.def file and shortcuts. I had a problem where the
shortcuts were getting lost when trying a new beta executable. As we
discussed, this issue was addressed in the last beta.

However, now when I try to add shortcuts, sometimes the result is that
I wipe out additional menu items and have to reset and start over.

After starting with a fresh tbuser.def the last time a couple of days
ago (by deleting and allowing the system to recreate), it seems to be
working fine. However, I have set F9 to Tools, Send & Check for All
and changing Specials, View Source to F11.

Now the problem is that F9 only work if I have a folder selected, not
if I have a specific mail item selected. Then, it brings up View
Source. Some how it is remembering what it is set to. I cannot see any
other references to F9 withing the tbuser.def.

I am afraid that the issues with tbuser.def have not been totally
resolved. Please let me know if I am overlooking someting

I am the wrong person to ask. I discovered this on my own, with some
help from Mary. As far as it being corrupted, that is my speculation.
It could very well be that it simply has outmoded or superfluous
entries. Look at it in notepad. It contains a lot of information!

According to the repair listing I just mentioned, it was not being
updated properly, so it would make sense that there several users with
tbuser.def files that are corrupted or otherwise problematic.

anything to do with the memory leak problems some of user were

RARed betas reset Menu shortcuts

2005-07-25 Thread Wayne Howard
Hello tbbeta,

I noticed a few weeks ago that when I install a RAR archived beta and
run it, that it puts my customized Menu shortcuts back to default.
Anyone else notice this?

In my setup, I have changed my Tools, Send and Check for All to F9 so
that it is consistent with the Outlook shortcut.

Note: First, I had to change the View, Source menu it since it uses F9
by defualt.

Both problems now seem to be fully resolved! I was missing the setting

The combination of installing the .msi and changing this setting fixed

The maintenance utility is now deleting some messages (14). However, I

For me, the biggest issues are that: 1) TB will no longer delete
messages off the server. I am using Outlook Express to do this every

Maintenance utility or upon exit from TB.

What's not clear is if these are bugs or I have a corrupt

to able to reproduce it although there have been several exit
armories discussed here. In either case, I have no idea how to fix
it.

It will not purge and compress in manual mode either, nor will it
remove messages older than a certain date on the server.

I think that there must be a registry setting that has become corrupt
or does not exist. That is why I have not reported this a bug. As far
as I know, I am the only one having this problem.

The question is: how do I fix it (other than uninstalling and
reinstalling)? I actually tried that, but my re-import broke it again.
I really don't want to reconfigure everything unless I have to. I also
thought that figuring out why might provide useful information in case
this should happen again.

By the way, my system clock is reporting the correct date/time.

For some reason, I can no longer delete messages per folder using the

I have one folder with 27,000 messages (about 2 year's worth) and I

re: 2.04 Test release:

ST> Please send your comments, so we can pronounce the 2.04 version
ST> officially released tomorrow.

I installed and the 2nd time I ran it (1st time as a regular user
under Windows 2000), it came up with a very simple dialogue box that
said "!" then, when I clicked OK, it opened The Bat! fine. Note: the
first time I ran this version was as an Administrator after I
installed it and this dialogue did not occur. After the dialogue, all
seems to be working fine.
