Build 3.62 released

2005-10-28 Thread Robert van der Hulst
It has happened again...

Build 3.62 has been released to the public today, with new features and new
bugs. I can't believe it. No announcement in this group, nothing.

My issue of Tb corrupting attachments (introduced during the current beta
cycle) is still open. I have asked for comments, but everybody at RitLabs
plays deaf.

I really can't believe you released this.

I am seriously considering moving to a new email client. Does anyone have a
good suggestion:
- multiple pop accounts
- good filtering system (for example ability to filter on group membership
of sender)
- An 'easy' migration (import of existing message base of over 200,000
messages)

The other thing is the ever again problem with the development status of

I've mainly migrated because of the almost flawless IMAP support in

Note that Thunderbird DOES have much less features than The Bat, but I
hardly use most of the strange cruft RIT has been adding since 2.x.
And with the nice plugin system of mozilla.org you can download quite
a number of extensions, which might provide the function(s) you need.
In my case that's mostly the PGP/GPG support.

PS: I do follow this list still, and occasionally download one of the

Two... You all stop posting to the list for 3 months and no RL

Bonjour Martin,

MS They deal with us like you deal with cattle. Thank you Ritlabs. I can

MS saw the final on the website a couple of days after the release. This is no
MS good behaviour! The people here are volunteers who don't get any payment so
MS you should deal with them a different way.

I don't appreciate either being treated this way.

I have been a member of beta-testing lists for quite a few products
during the last years and I must say that Ritlabs beat them all for
their very questionable behaviour towards beta-testers (we after all
help them save a lot of time and money by checking their stuff on
hundreds of different combinations of hardware and software).

Because for Ritlabs quick dough appears to be more important than
a satisfied customer, I consider very seriously to switch over to another
mail client. I've just downloaded Thunderbird and Poco4, and I'm going
to spend this week end checking which one might better suit my needs.

I'll definitely won't upgrade to TheBat 3 unless Ritlabs improve their
actual policy towards us (I know that they don't care for one licence,
but I might not be alone) ;-)

Kind Regards to all of you (except Ritlabs!)

Francis

VŠ You must be kiddin', right?
 Compared to 3.6203?

Compared to the 3.62.03 it has only one bug less.

If I would wrote a message to this list, with all problems that I
experience with The Bat IMAP implementation, your SMTP server would
send it back as too large ;)

According to headers, Robert's message was sent 40 minutes before 9Val's.
