IMAP (Exchange): issues with messages with attachments

2008-04-23 Thread Peter Fjelsten
Hello beta testers.

In the last couple of releases/betas, if I go back to a message
already received once by selecting and fetching it (I have set up sync
to do headers and text), suddenly the message it empty with one
attachment Part.att ~0bytes. It looks normal in the list (correct
  size, etc).

  Reloading the message fixes it.

  This is a big problem.

Seems to be sorted in .33 - I could send a message with that version today.

Unfortunately, I cannot retrieve neither send messages. Logged error
messages are the same as in v. 3.5.31. I am using MAPI communication with
Exchange. Additionally POP3 service is enabled on the server and this
works correctly all time.

Not at me. As at Zygmunt: MAPI connection, same error message as
with v31.

I have to admit, RL did not say they have fixed it :)

Odd.

Which way are you using TB with Exchange? I'm using it on a machine where I
normally use Outlook (2003). We're running Exchange Server 2003 Standard at
work.

And, maybe you can answer the question: should I install TB as simple MAPI
handler on that machine (Options | Prefs | Applications), or leave that
setting alone?

You can try that... I dont remember, if I have done that or not..

TB Exchange issues

2005-06-28 Thread Alexander S. Kunz
Hello everyone,

just trying TB 3.5.0.31 with our Exchange. A download of the entire
Exchange mailbox (16k messages) via MAPI (re-installed everything just
to be sure) is running right now.

Observations:

Problem #1

When I click on the log at the bottom of the screen (while the
transfer is still running), the listbox is drawn correctly at first,
but as messages continue to arrive, its drawn below the bottom of the
screen (TB is running in fullscreen mode here). When that happens, I
click into the (empty) message preview pane, the log listbox closes as
expected, but I also get one (and sometimes two) List index out of
bounds error message(s). Once the transfer is finished, its no problem
anymore to use the listbox. Only during the transfer its not redrawn
correctly as messages arrive.

I don't know if the above problem applies to Exchange only, maybe
someone can try to download a larger amount of messages open the log
listbox during the transfer, just to see what happens?

Problem #2

The errors I already mentioned yesterday start to appear again
at a certain point:

A message in foldername has been exported to a zero-sized stream
HResult=

and

A message in foldername has no major parts HResult=

Its impossible to track it down to a single message. Can I activate
some sort of server communication log (like for POP/SMTP/IMAP) for
MAPI as well?

Eventually, the transfer stops completely. I can re-start it, and at a
certain point, it would stop again, and I can re-start it again. And a
third restart (all this to download 16k messages, whew).

Problem #3

This is a confirmation of what's been reported by Vili and others: I
can't send a message, either. It remains in the Outbox forever as it
seems. I can send a message with a different account where I simply
entered our Exchange server as smtp server, so it must be a problem
with the MAPI communication.

I would be willing to spend more time on testing this (within my
possibilities at work) if some Ritlabs programmer is willing to test
this further.

Just to follow up:

On 20-10-2004 14:35, you [PF] wrote in

PF Issues with the new Exchange server:

PF 1) IMAP: I cannot move messages to another folder. Yes, I can dump the

This problem was fixed clearing the local cache. I find it very puzzling
that this should become corrupted just in the exact moment the server
was upgraded.

TB! works just as well with Exchange 6.5 as Exchange 5.5.

Exchange issues

2004-10-20 Thread Peter Fjelsten
Hello beta testers.

Today our exchange server was upgraded from 5.5 to 6.5. Telnet-ing to it
on port 143 gives the following response: Microsoft Exchange Server 2003
IMAP4rev1 server version 6.5.7226.0.

Before this upgrade, the DNS was exchange.stibo.com but now it's called
MAILA.graphic.stibo.int.

I accessed it via IMAP before (I think the TB! Exchange functionality is
_very_ limited - e.g. I cannot decide which folders I want to have
displayed - and seems more POP3-like than IMAP-like (Messages
management Delete messages from server).

Issues with the new Exchange server:

  1) IMAP: I cannot move messages to another folder. Yes, I can dump the
messages there but they're not re-fetched on accessing the folder.
If I open LookOut 2003, they are clearly visible. All folders are
set to Full synchronize in TB! The counts are correct, but not all
 messages are shown!

  2) Accessing via Exchange protocol will set the Date of all messages
to the date they are fetched - so now I have 3.104 messages with
 the same time stamp!

As of now I am forced to use Outlook because of 1, so please somebody
help me!
