Hello Miroslav,

On Mon, 28 Feb 2005 you wrote in

That I did not have so I copied it across and straight away the changes
I had made to the Alpha icons showed up.

MF> I have adapted the XML file and

I then opened my own Icon set in Paint shop Pro again and exported it as
png with the Alph and Transparency settings you suggested earlier and I
now have my own full icon set back up and running. Thank you very much
for your help. It's a continual learning curve isn't it? But then, so is
life!

the XML support still isn't implemented completely at the moment.

To also exchange the missing folder symbols, TheBat! still needs the
"batskin.ini" in the working directory. I have adapted the XML file and
the INI file for my Minimal Design Glyph - it works as expected.

Can't confirm although there are times when it does/doesn't do something
for no apparent reason and then it works fine this morning. Earlier on I
tried to send a message direct but clicking on the send button in the
Message Edit box did nothing, I had to put it in the outbox before it
would send. This has not happened before or since with this Alpha.

Hello Stefan,

Installed into a brand new folder and I was well impressed that it
picked up all the TB! settings from the older version, filters, QTs and
directory destinations too. Here are some problems that have instantly
come to light for me :

The bottom icons in the micro-ed don't work.

Thread columns don't expand to the right as threads grow.

The message folder pane sizes don't stick, need resizing after each re
start.

Toolbars don't stay as put (and I've followed the message about editing
mainform.def)

"Enter" no longer moves to next unread message but brings up a seperate
message box instead. In fact I've not yet worked out how to get to the
next unread without recourse to the mouse!

I've loaded my alternate Glyph set from the previous TB! but it won't
show it's own "folder" or "address book" glyphs. I've tried renaming
"GlyphsCollection" and "HTMLEditorCollection" but still no use.

Things I noticed immediately:

- The toolbars have an ugly border with my color scheme, and the icons look
very bad until I hover my mouse over them. It's probably just a setting
somewhere, since Dialog (a newsreader which also uses TBX) doesn't have
  this problem (see attached image).

- Sorting order seems to be reversed

- Ctrl+Đ (Ctrl+] on US keyboard AFAIK) doesn't work anymore

- Ctrl+Right arrow and Spacebar don't go beyond last message in branch

- Insert in message editor opens Attach file dialog

I have created a separate directory for these files and added
batskin.xml and new_icons.png to this directory. When I run the exe
file it starts and shows most of the icons. In reading the .xml file
it refers to two other .png files which I don't have, so I am missing
some icons.
I also do not see anything in the columns From: To: or Subject:

You could also just drag to where you want. It don't make a lot of difference
though, there are still no icons.

This is one time I would like some pretty little pictures.

Bugs... Won't run from a shortcut.

Omissions... the complete set of icons. Or is this the Dos version?

Why is there a empty field left of a sender's photo? When my cursor
hovers over it, I can see an explanation like "message security" in
german.

right clicking in editor (microEd) does not work, I had to use Ctrl+V
instead and had no possibility to mark a quote as such.

Deep Alpha killed my inbox right away. First it reported that the
folder is corrupted then it tried to repair it and half of the emails
are gone now. I don't care that much about the data but it looks like
a dangerous behavior.

Same here, I can only run The Bat by directly clicking the exe file in the main
 Bat folder.

Also I have no icons or menu labels at all, just one, Test Menu.

I like the divisional lines between the accounts though. Apart from that this
latest Alpha has totally cocked my install up.

Er, what do I click on to send this message?

I just added the recently posted "batskin.xml" and things do look a
little different, but still no menu labels in main window. In the editor
window I do see the menu labels though. Didn't try this before adding
"batskin.xml" so I can't tell whether that is needed or not, but I
suppose it's not related since I still does not see the menu labels in
the main window.

I renamed the exe and the lng-file before installing the deep alpha and
noticed the same.

Start directory means The Bat! program folder correct? Also I added the
batskin.xml and my toolbars are all messed up. I removed it and
toolbars are better again.

To start with, I do not see the menu labels. I see the shortcuts, but
not the label themselves.

For example, under the "Account" menu, instead of:

Properties Shift+Ctrl+P

I see:

   Shift+Ctrl+P

Of course, I am not sure I am looking at the Account menu, the head
labels are blank as well...

In my case The Bat! crashed when using the start menu shortcut from a
previous The Bat! install but works fine when clicking on the .exe
file in The Bat! directory.
