New Install Crashes
Hi I've just copied my old TheBat! v1.?? files to a new PC (the old one's toast!). I get as far as specifying the network config and the program crashes - no error messages, it just isn't there anymore. When I try and run it again, it crashes immediately. Since the files could have been corrupt, I downloaded v1.62 off the web site and installed it in a new folder - same result. I did the same with V2 and got almost identical results, the only difference was that this time it offered to tell Microsoft about it! Everything else is working OK - any ideas? Hi Paul, I just noticed something else. When I select Ctr-W and add the sender to the address book I also set the gender. Then when it came with te msg if it should add the other email addresses to the same address book I responded with NO, which gives you the option to select the address book for this email address What I noticed is that it exactly the same as I have entered before with the same address book but also the gender set. To me this means that TB! als does recognizes that this is the same entry and if displays it. It is the same result as if you would try to add someone to your address book who is already in one. Hello Darrin, DR Anyone know how to get it back? DR Thanks I think if you add a folder called $KNOWN$ that will add it back. when I right-click an accounts inbox-known, the name shows as : $KNOWN$ with the $ on both sides. -- Best regards, Paul Current version is 2.12.02 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Steps to disable sending of messages - this is a bug report for all versions
Greetings All, 1. Create a new top level folder outside of any account folder tree. I created one and called it discussions 2. Create a sub-folder under that. I created one called TBUDL 3. Highlight that TBUDL folder that is not inside any account tree so that it is selected 4. Go to the address book and select the address for the bat user discussion list 5. select new message 6. write the message 7. Press send and nothing happens My guess is that the program does not know what account to send it through, so I corrected this by using the %account= macro and there is no change. Any ideas would be appreciated. Also not that this has been an issue will all 2.x version, and no one seems to understand or care. Michael L. Unfinished message sent without permission
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 I had a small accident: was writing a message, while checking a site out, and after the checking, I did F11 to send the messages from Outboxes and to receive new mail of all accounts. Then, I saw the message I've been editing simply disappeared. I hurled my eye in Outbox folder - nothing. A did it in Sent folder and my bottom jaw hit the table: the message was *sent*! As I know, it never happened before (when I am editing a message, and in the same time use F11, this message is never sent), and I nowhere have my settings modified. Is there some new feature which would influence something like that, in this version I use now, namely v.2.12.00? How could I prevent such behaviour, since sometimes I just make a test messages with totally silly text... for the off-line use, and if *such* a message is sent somewhere... the people could *sue* me! - -- Mica PGP key uploaded at: http://pgp.mit.edu/ once just before breakfast -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- iD8DBQFBADRu9q62QPd3XuIRAhqYAKCCYV1vzSV8Hh2Np54U9BvoUb1iDACePoas fLUzGP9fNiEa97jMp/yFVNA= =brDX -END PGP SIGNATURE- Current version is 2.12.02 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Change the order in my account tree?
Hello, How can I change the order of my accounts? I have 3 email accounts set up. For example in the order of 1 2 3 with 1 being on top and 3 on bottom. Lets say I want them in the order of 3 1 2. How do I set that up? Alternative display of recipient in to header (was: Re: Macro Help needed - addressing recipient according to gender set in AB)
Hallo Christopher, On Thu, 22 Jul 2004 10:45:18 -0700GMT (22-7-2004, 19:45 +0200, where I live), you wrote: CB This reminded me of something I have noticed but never addressed. CB I have the names in my address book displayed with last name CB first, so I can easily sort them. But if I start a new message to CB someone, TB uses this format (the Display Name I assume) in the CB To: field. How can I set up my template so that a normally formed CB name is displayed? That's easy, that'll be something like this: %To=%To='%ABToPrefix %ABToFirstName %ABToMiddleName %ABToLastName %ABToSuffix %ABToEmail'%- Note that it's best to have this on one line. You mentioned prefix and suffix, I also included the middle name, just to make it complete. You'll have to realize that when you mail somebody without prefix, middle name and suffix the macto above will put some extra spaces in the to header, it would look like: John Doe [EMAIL PROTECTED] Besides, when the recipient is not present in the AB, you'll get an invalid to address, would be: That can be taken care of, but you'll get a somewhat more complicated macro: %If:$%ABToEmail$=$$:$$:$%- %To=%- %To='%- %If:_%ABToPrefix___:_%ABToPrefix _:__%- %If:_%ABToFirstName%ABToFirstName _:__%- %If:_%ABToMiddleName___:_%ABToMiddleName _:__%- %If:_%ABToLastName___:_%ABToLastName_:__%- %If:_%ABToSuffix___:_ %ABToSuffix_:__%- %ABToEmail'$%- This tests whether there's an address for the recipient in your AB and then it starts filling in the fields. Note that this macro presumes that you'll have a last name in your AB, otherwise you'll have a space too many between the quote marks of your address. I've included the quote marks in case the name contains forbidden characters like dots. Just insert the macro as it is here, with all spaces and on as many lines as this example. It should work though I didn't test it. -- Groetjes, Roelof Disclaimer: Any opinion stated in this message is not necessarily shared by my budgies or rabbits.
