Ah, you omitted that little detail.

Not too sure how your account is set up anyway, I replied to your message

Can't you just edit your existing POP/SMTP server details and change them
to your new private domain servers details.

That way your existing account complete with existing folders will still be
used only pointing to your new domain. You may still have to edit the odd
filter or two so that they don't filter on your old address.

The best POP client Mary, they already have *the* best POP client but not
IMAP.

The Bat! isn't even remotely close to being one tenth of a percent as good
as Mulberry is when it comes to IMAP. And I can't see it even getting close

Is it usual to have to wait 30-45 seconds for a message to appear in an

That's for you to decide. I got fed up with all the agro I was getting with
trial versions or free Gnu versions, it was a confidence thing, so in an
attempt to get some stability from PGP I fully bought and paid for PGP9
Desktop complete with PGP disk or virtual disk as it now it.

I still have a few minor problems and I've not even asked if my signatures
verify on here at all, but I'm getting there. I personally am glad I bought
it so I'd say yes it is worth it.

There are a few things I don't like, I prefer pre v9 tray right click menu,
with v9 you have to open the whole program to get to PGPkeys and verifying
in TB! opens the whole program interface as well. Apart from that I like
it.

Same problem, I just tried it. The Bat! also looks for a txt file rather
than an xml file. PGP9 now works fine with TB!

I see what you mean Allie about the whole PGP program popping up just to
verify a message.

To get PGP9 working with TB! you need to create a text file called
PGPprefs.txt

In that file needs to be the path to your PGP keyring in this format, each
line needs to be on one whole line:

PublicKeyringFile="C:\Documents and Settings\Tony\My
Documents\PGP\pubring.pkr"
PrivateKeyringFile="C:\Documents and Settings\Tony\My
Documents\PGP\secring.skr"

Edit the paths to your own name obviously. Then save that file to Docs and
Settings\Username\Application data\PGP corporation\PGP\PGPprefs.txt

RIT Labs need to update the pgp.dll to look for an xml pref file as well as
a txt pref file.

God Allie we're good 'aint we :)

It only happens with Mulberry, not The Bat for reasons discussed at length
last week.

And it's nothing to do with SMTP, it's when you reply to a post that's
stored on your IMAP server. Forget the SMTP side of it, that has nothing to
do with it.

Like I said, they will. The Bat! doesn't yet handle IMAP the way it should
but that's not the point. Mulberry handle IMAP to the very letter of any
RFC law and that's why it's happening, it's not getting the correct
response from the server.

Tell me Alex, does this one thread properly? If I'm right, I suspect it
will and I#ve not doctored the headers in anyway.

I might give that a go I think.

Am I right in thinking I can use it for an NTL account and then forward all
that to my boomclan account?

It's my NTL account I get most spam in, dozens and dozens of them. That's
why I don't use it anymore.

I did try forgetting about it and leaving the spam to pile up, but as soon

I just visited the Spamcop web site, I clicked the "Download Trial" link
and it took me to the Mailwasher Pro download page.

Now from what I can gather Spamcop is not a software program, it's a
company or service where you report spam to. I use it myself with
Mailwasher Pro and if I click the report box for any spam I get that they
don't already know about it's Spamcop that it's reported to. If it was a
spam filtering program I doubt they'd direct people to a competitors
download page.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Spamcop is not Spam trapping software, it's
just a place to report it to? See attached for a complete description as to
exactly what Spamcop is.

If so, what actual software do you use to trap spam in the first place?

Like I said I use Spamcop myself, I just didn't know it. Mailwasher Pro
does such a good job I don't even know it's there half the time.

Exactly what I said, add [EMAIL PROTECTED] to the white list if that's

Would it not be better for you to find out why they are being falsely
classified as spam rather than to expect them to do it for you?

Like I said before, spam very, very rarely gets to these lists so why not
just add the complete domain @thebat.dutaint.com to your whitelist? That
way no one will be falsely classified and *if* any true spam gets through
it's just a matter of blacklisting it. Blacklisting 1 or 2 spam every 2 or
3 years must be easier than expecting dozens of individuals to change their
habits of a lifetime overnight?

Only because some poor gullible soul took you too seriously :)

I used to belong to a list that had [ACD] prefixed to every subject line
and I hated it, I think it looks messy as does Re(2), Re:Re(4) etc. No
offense meant of course.

%SINGLERE in your template will cure that.

I personally have only ever seen two, three at most spam sent to these
lists and they were by pure accident so I don't even run my bat lists

Gordon Bennett. Everyone's going to be using it now. Subject lines full of
quirky little anecdotes enclosed in square brackets. I'm with Wham on this
one, there are enough headers to filter on. And if it ain't spam it
shouldn't get classified as such.

Truth is only one in a million posts to any of these bat lists, including
the Yahoo group is spam. And even then it's normally a genuine mistake on a
list members part so why the need to filter for spam at all?

In any case, I'm pretty sure Steve wasn't being 100% serious... Was you

Lot's of people get cascading AV's when using The Bat! I myself and most

It seems like The Bat setup file (thebat_professional.smi) are searching
for a file to start the uninstall process of the old version. And when the
setup file doesn't find the file it obviously need to start that process
the whole installation process stops!
I have never installed The Bat on this machine. Most people on this list
know how I make backups and also how I transfer from one PC to another. I
just backed up registry entries, copied the whole TB folder from one
machine to another and run the reg file.

The Bat doesn't appear in my add/remove list and the latest msi file
installed without a hitch. It will show up in the list now as I run the
installer but I personally don't think that's your problem.

It is a dos command and you need to boot direct into dos. It will fix a
trashed boot block on your main bootable drive ie c:\.

You did ask about it in your original post but I doubt it'll help fix your

You'll need to delete all the RIT registry entries and completely reinstall TB
from fresh where you will get the option for OTFE with whatever token type you
 want.

Best thing is backup everything first, delete reg entries, install TB and then
restore from the backup... It's the ONLY way as yet to change from non

I can't stress enough how much I agree with you. If TB! is to compete with
other mailers, especially the ones about today then it should have the
 same abilities.

I've played with most of them and the good ones all have the option to
refuse or accept image display. What they don't have is all the rest of
TB's powers, especially filtering and templates.

Like Thomas said, the users on this list are the elite of email users,
maybe a version of TB! just for us with a secret, non documented option
for true full blown html ability... Just for us, to reward us for years of
