Strange things with TB

2008-06-11 Thread jlaikan
I still use the Bat V1.53 which works well. Yesterday something
strange happened.
1) Old messages in the Outbox were suddenly sent (with no action from
me) to the recipients in several copies, with a copy to myself.

2) No messages in Inbox, Outbox or Sent can be deleted even if I
unparked the messages.

3) Each message I send are sent several times as it stays in the
Outbox even when sent.

4) On despatching messages from the server, I cannot delete messages
even if they are ticked for deletion

5) A copy of emails I send are no longer stored in the Sent folder

Any explanation for all these? Thanks

John

What removed the virus?

2004-02-07 Thread jlaikan
Hi All,
I received on several occasions messages like this.

***
A virus (WORM_MYDOOM.A) was detected in the file (text.zip/text.scr). Action taken =
remove
***-***
The message contains Unicode characters and has been sent as a binary attachment.

My question is what removed the virus?
1) The Bat!
2) My Norton Anti-virus?
3) The server of my ISP?

The sender's e-mail address is [EMAIL PROTECTED] .I don't
know them and have never sent them any message. How did they get my
e-mail address?

How to delete message from server..

2002-05-15 Thread jlaikan

Hello TBUDL,

How to delete message from server (other than Yahoo!) without downloading them again? I
tried using Account/Properties/Mail Management/Leave messages on
server for 0 days. TB! downloaded all messages AGAIN before deleting
them. Is it possible to view messages from server & delete them
selectively?

Hello Januk,

I just received notification from Yahoo! that my mail box is
approaching the 6 MB allowed. Is there a way in "Mail Management" to
tell TB! not to keep messages so many days old, but to start deleting
from server the oldest messages once my mail box reaches a limit of 4 MB
(3, 5 or which ever size is selected). If not, will this feature be
implemented in the future?

Sorry I just noticed your message.

I have version 3.21 of 12.09.2000. Its capacity to keep up to 99

up to 1/3 of their sizes. Excellent software for only $30.

I have got a couple of them, mainly from newsgroups and they are neither
spam nor have attachments.

Some messages of these messages:-

1) No sender in the List column. The header of the message showed :

displayed
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

2) No sender in the List column. On clicking "Reply" TB! simply cannot
create a reply to it. In other cases a reply message was created with
blank "To" tab.

3) Sender absent in the "Message list column" but present in the
message Header (This message was from a software editor)

Thanks for investigating. I can still search for messages with no Sender
from the List Columns by using View/Sort by:- From
However this is time consuming if we have several folders and several accounts.

I don't really need the feature I mentioned. I posted the message was for 2 reasons:-

1) I have read in this list that someone proposed to stop spam by setting filters
to automatically deleted messages with No Sender. We have to be careful about that
since many No Sender messages I have received are not spam at all but important
messages. Maybe the sender's e-mail client omits to include the sender's name.

2) I wanted to see how far I could push the Bat!

Vertical Scroll Bars in replying to messages

Hello TBUDL,

I have noticed that when I reply to a message, especially if I delete much text,

The result gave all messages instead of those with no sender.
What's wrong with my settings?

Exact.

Most of the time I only Preview messages (except when they are large,
I View them). I find previewing messages very fast and practical and I preview them
randomly by clicking on the subject list.

Sometimes I wish to Go back to a previous message previewed.
Without the feature I requested, I have to remember which message it
was and search for it manually. That's why I think that the feature would be useful to
me.

Hello All,

Thank you All for the replies to this topic.

Now that we are pretty sure that
(1) The UNDO command for Moving, Deleting or Copying messages in TB! is missing

(2) It is not possible to navigate Back or Forward (as with Internet Explorer for
example)
while previewing messages in the Preview Pane

I have requested these features from RITLABS.

Hope to seen them in the next version.

Undo, Prievious view commands

2001-03-30 Thread jlaikan

Hello TBUDL,

By mistake I moved a message to a folder containing thousands of
messages. I don't remember which message it was and I wish to undo
this action. Is there a command (like that in
Windows Explorer) for this?

While previewing a message, I clicked on another one. Is there a way
to go back (without remembering what it was and manually
searching) to the first one (as with a web browser)?

What I said is that the logo's animation gives the impression of some
advertising going on.Put 2 computers running the Bat! side by side
(one with animation and the other without).Any visitor coming in will
more probably notice the animated bat, look into the program get interested
to it, try it and maybe buy it.There is nothing wrong with that since
the animation is not imposed to us. Subtle advertising, since no one
can really attack the animation, because bats DO fly! I myself only
said << Flying bats, have some rest please. >> Anyway this is a
personal opinion only.

If the rules of this list strictly allow discussing only the support aspects
of the Bat!, I will abide by them.

In fact I was mistaken about the terms. I referred to those softwares

money come from? Well first, from those who have purchased the Bat! and

From Search result to Thread

2001-02-23 Thread jlaikan

Hello All,

When doing a Search, Message finder usually displays several
messages containing the "Search for" word. Is it possible to rapidly switch to
the Thread containing the Searched word? This would be very practical
since the Thread usually contains related information. To achieve this
result I had to do a new search by entering the Subject of the
message into "Search for" tab.Not only is this time consuming, but I
also lose sight of the other search results. If the answer is no, then
this feature may be useful in a future version of the Bat!

Thanks very much, it works perfectly. The problem is that there is no documentation
about that in the help files. I suspect I lost many messages because I
copied only messages in the first "layer" and then deleted the source
folder. This newsgroup is a real blessing.

Copying or moving messages

2001-02-23 Thread jlaikan

Hello All,
In a folder I have 904 messages. When I
tried to copy all messages to another
folder, only 206 are copied. Same thing
when I tried to move them all to another
folder (select all messagesand from
Message menu / Copy to folder) only
some are moved. I had to repeat the
action several times to move all
messages. Is there a reason for this? I
have the Bat! V1.49.
