Oh, I hate that part of it too, Haven't been back since joining.
But I subscribed to tbot, I think, off Marck's Silverstones website,
shortly after downloading The Bat! It was just a matter of sending one
of those "subscribe" e-mails. And mails come in from tbot just like the
mails come in from tbudl.:) ?

RW> Anyway hasn't Don's web site taken over from that?

On its way. Been in conversation there lately myself, if you're
browsing it. Trying to solve a few problems that came up as I am still
learning the technique of posting to it.

You know, we are really way off-topic. Do you want to take this to
Don's Forums ("The Water Cooler") or shall we say 'bye to the thread
for now?

Thanks again for your help and I've just done it.

You don't need to become a Yahoo member to subscribe. Just send an
empty message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and answer the
confirmation message. You won't have access to all the "goodies", but
you'll receive the postings and will be able to send to the list.
Unsibscribe by sending an empty message to

Well, of course you can't see any German. Because you didn't put any German.

I had been following the exchange between you and Thomas--BTW, interesting
and right on topic. I was feeling mischievous, and when I saw Thomas's sig
in German (referring to two historical persons of interest, J.S. Bach,
the musician, and Immanuel Kant, the philosopher), I thought he should
share the little joke with non-German speakers. It's a species of pun.
I got it, but I don't have enough German to put it well into English.
Thomas is fluent in both languages. It is off-topic, however, and I
think we should take further discussion to tbot.

Are you subscribed there? It's an interesting list.

RW> Oops, just realised the message was to Thomas and not me, I just saw

I can see how it happened. My salutation to Thomas and the reference
to his reply to your post were not in color. And there, right on top
was "Hello Richard" (the quoted Thomas salutation to you) in living
color. Well, I'm new to the format of this List, and perhaps too much
inclined to levity. I didn't mean to entrap you.

RW> Is there any way of withdrawing a badly posted message such as my last

Not badly posted. Just hastily so. I've done worse, and quite
recently. :)

Oops, just realised the message was to Thomas and not me, I just saw
the "Hello Richard" bit even though it was a quote.

Is there any way of withdrawing a badly posted message such as my last
one? :-(

Or, I guess, take it to tbot.
