Scheduler/Calendar
I just completed moving TB! to a different machine (XP/SP3) via a TB! backup/restore. Everything went smoothly and seems to be working well. Except... When I click on Tools-Scheduler the calendar display that comes up is for October-November 2007 and an error panel appears with the message Failed to set calendar selected range. Does anyone know what this is trying to tell me, and how to fix it? FQ: Scheduler Action Delete Message
I'd like to have an additional Action for the Scheduler: Delete Message. Reason: Oftentimes I have messages, like vouchers, valuable only up to a certain date; after that date they can be deleted. I'd like to automate the process such that I get a reminder before the 'best before' and then an automatic delete after the date if I do not delete manually. -- Dierk [DH² Publishing] www.DH2Publishing.info Writing and Imaging Current version is 4.1.11 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Autobackup Scheduler?
Hello Everyone, I upgraded to the latest verson of TB and was greeted by a pop-up explaining the need to backup emails regularly. I had already read on the download page that Auto Backup is a major improvement. I have previously configured TB to schedule a full backup every week and when the new pop-up suggesting the autobackup appeared, I looked at the form and it looked like the previous scheduler. The only thing I did not see was saving the file name with the datestamp. I guess I must have put that in originally after getting some good advice here. Now looking at the help file (index) I can see some info on backup (for manual backup and very general), nothing on scheduler and nothing on autobackup. The same under Tools. I could set a bogus pop server to do the same operation without actually downloading email with the same account, Why use a bogus one that causes an error rather than a real one that does not receive any mail? Well, it's a pretty unusual situation: I co-moderate a Yahoogroups mailing list and I'd like to use TB to automate some approve/reject operation. I'm the one to set the whole mechanism - moderation account properties in TB, filters, etc - both for me and the other moderator. My colleague would run TB from behind a firewall which prevents him to use any pop/smtp server except his own, and he is allowed to use only one mailbox for all his email. So, I formerly wrote my pop server only as a semplification here. Actually, it's my collegue's one that I'd rather not involve for mail checking in his moderation account, the one used to send back control messages to Yahoogroups. Incoming messages of any kind are processed by his normal account, where moderation filters for the mailing list operate. Then, generated control messages are queued in the Outbox of the moderation account, waiting for TB's scheduler to do its job and send them. If it worked. Of course I could redesign the whole machine to adapt it to this no-scheduler situation for him, but it would be uneasy, and inelegant. When the test email was JH generated and saved in my outbox as a draft, only her address showed JH up. No BCC group was generated, even when I hit F9 and looked at the JH detailed headers. JH I used the Linking function to link to her address in the TO: and the JH group in the BCC. When I did that, I couldn't even get the test email JH to generate on schedule. JH I tried putting a macro command in the text to BCC to the group, but JH that didn't work either. JH Is there a way to do this that I'm overlooking? And no, I don't want to actually *send* those reminders to myself, not with a dial-up connection and a tight budget. Also, when creating a reminder message with the scheduler, there's an area called description where you can type whatever the reminder is about. At least that's the way I understood it. However, when the reminder message is created it only says something like This message was created at blah blah blah by the scheduler. The event description follows: And after that, nothing. Hello Roger, My scheduler has always had a bug in it whereby it actuates one hour earlier than the time I program it to do something. If you have the same problem and want it to remind you in five minutes time, try setting it for one hour and five minutes. Oh my God!!! That _is_ my problem!!! Obviously, for my tests I was always setting the time just 2 or 3 minutes from now. I'll be very interested to hear if this solves your problem. I have reported this behaviour as a possible bug but have never been able to get confirmation from anyone else, possibly because in some cases it may not be obviously noticeable Yes, it does solve the problem in my case. Hello Daniel, It works for me. When you right click on a message, there's an option called Remind Later. Simply select one of the options listed in that sub-menu. Or, go directly into the scheduler and right-click on the list on the right and then select New to create a new task.
