CTRL-X is rarely the command exit anything - CTRL+C should terminate TeX, unless something's really broken. Yes. I typed this mail too fast! I've more commonly seen this using OpusTeX - it's usually a sign that either the .mx2 file is out-of-sync with the .mx1 file, as Bob noted. Deleting the .mx1 *and* .mx2 file should clear it, otherwise there's a bug. I am unable to reproduce the bug with the file I was using yesterday. Next time I will attach it with the .log and .mx? files. Often I make a first version with tqsk=.5\elemskip, I put \alaligne at the
line breaks I obtain and adjust the tqsk at each line afterwards.
Otherwise the situation would be inextricable because the \tqsk influence
the line breaks. Perhaps your package could adjust \tqsk at this step.

The output file works if I say e.g. \def\tqsk{\off{1.5\elemskip}}. Am I

The "automatic" spacing is determined by the beaming (\ibb...),
and can't be affected by subsequent accidentals [...]
Personnally I say e.g. \def\mysk{\off{.6\elemskip}} and replace your \Qsk with
\mysk. With a few adjustments I obtain the best \mysk for each line.
A remark from a user of Finale: avoiding collisions is trivial programming for
the developer of a music typesetting program! So it's difficult to explain
why I do adjustments with MusiXTeX. :-)
