Hi Erland. Where can I find that Font Replacer? If I go to Settings
Advanced Applet Installer I can only see two applets: BBC Radio and
World Clock.

Thank You.

You need to uncheck the Settings Advanced Applet Installer
Recommended Applet Only option first, after that you will see all
available applets including Font Replacer

Thanks, garym. He recently added wireless service but I set up his music
to play independent of that (and prior to his purchase). Can you direct
me to instructions on how to set up the Duet controller with the touch,
to work through the wifi?

Thanks a bunch.

So, he has a system, with a WIFI Router (i.e, an internal network). And
I assume that WIFI network has a SSID name (unique) and some sort of
security (WPA, etc.). So both the TOUCH and the CONTROLLER have to be
setup in each of their network setup routines to be connected to that
SSID. And both the TOUCH and the CONTROLLER have to be setup to be
registered on the same mysqueezebox.com account. This wiki may help as
well:

Re: [SlimDevices: Touch] Controlling touch with duet remote without wifi hookup

2012-07-16 Thread yukiginger

Thanks again. I wanted to avoid having SBS and his music running off his
laptop because he doesn't often use his laptop. An older desktop
computer gets the most use in the house and it is the machine that he
accesses the internet with. I also understand that is better to use the
Touch with an attached USB OR traditionally through a network to a
computer that holds the music, so I was hoping to avoid any possible
confusion and stick with one or the other. Now that he has invested in
wireless and he really needs to have the extra versatility of the Duet
remote I likely will install SBS on his laptop computer and link the
Touch accordingly. The external hard drive can then just hold the FLAC
files as backups.

why not install LMS (new version of SbS) on the desktop that is attached
to the network? And connect the USB drive with FLAC files to the
desktop.

You don't need to run SBS on a laptop.
Personally, at home, I'm running a SB-Touch with an attached USB drive
and the internal TinyLMS server. The networking of the Touch is
configured to connect to my WiFi Access Point. The Touch can play local
music from the attached USB drive (without a PC), and can also play
Internet Radio via the network.
On top of that, I have another SB-Touch and a SB-Radio that connect to
the TinyLMS on the first SB-Touch. They can play music from the USB
drive attached to the first SB-Touch. The only thing I needed was to
connect them to the same WiFI Access Point and use the same SB
credential.
Moreover, I have a tablet with a SB controller application that can
control all the other SB devices.

Let face it, you managed to do the most difficult part, which is to run
a SB-Touch with an attached USB drive. The only thing you need is to
configure the network on that SB-Touch, don't change anything else.
Also, most people will say that you would be better to buy a cheap
iTouch or Android device as a controller rather than Logitech
controller.

Regards,

Jean

A, yes, then I would still have the music backed up on the laptop
but use his most-used computer to run LMS with the music on the attached
hard drive. Thanks. This likely is the way I will proceed.

Thank you. I set it all up and thought that he could view the Touch
screen well enough from his seated position ~8' away but he really
can't. I have an extra Duet controller and he has used it in my system
in the past so he knows that it's nice to have all the details right on
the handheld screen. My original post was seeking how to integrate the
remote with the system I have set up currently. With your advice and
garym's I'm getting close to a solution.

I've also found the playlist creation on the Touch itself a little
cumbersome so perhaps installing LMS on the computer and creating and
managing playlists there will be easier in the end.

when playing 24/96 material, there are intermittent sound from left

need a high speed usb dac.

The Legato is running Wavelength's Streamlength code on the USB
receiver. If I have no hub turned on, the sound is played extremely
slowly. With no hub work around off, everything is playing correctly.

So it seems not all USB Class 1.0 audio device would require the no hub
work around?
