Re: [Trac] Upgrading trac from 1.2.2 to 1.4
I figured it out. It was the script loading tracd that specifically required trac version 1.2.2. I'm not sure why it needs that. Perhaps it doesn't. I updated the version in the script and now it seems to load as expected. I may have a couple more questions as I make sure nothing is missing, but for now it seems OK. [Trac] Report queries
In the select statement for several reports I've noticed these fields: changetime AS _changetime description AS _description What does this actually do? These fields do not show up anywhere in the report as far as I can tell. I gather the leading underscore makes this some kind of special field. But, where does it come into play? In the report that has Full Description, the description field instead has a trailing underscore as well. This appears to put the description onto its own line. That makes sense. Re: [Trac] Re: Even though path is correct, I get an error bash: git-receive-pack: command not found.
What you are suggesting does make a lot more sense, which I interpret as follows : ( 1 ) Avoid adding to any $PATH if possible ( 2 ) From the existing $PATH, see if there is a suitable place place some symlinks ( 3 ) from the results below, the most logical would be /usr/bin Note : If I had fully understood what you were trying to get across earlier, with LDAPv3 in mind, i.e. users without home directories in my server setup : ( a ) I could have avoided having to create a home directory for myself on the server. ( b ) Also avoided having to create a ~/.bashrc with the appended path ( c ) If I wanted to grant access to ssh git remote on my server, to other developers, I would have to repeat steps ( a ) and ( b ) for every developer which would be a giant pain. Now that you point this out again (for like the third time), I can see great value in your approach. The biggest problem that I had, and didn't know I had, was the difference between the interactive and non-interactive bash shells. Once you put me onto that concept and I began to research it on the web, I realized the difference between ( A ) and ( B ) below : ( A ) non-interactive bash shell echo $PATH result $ ssh roscoe@192.168.1.45 'echo $PATH;' --- /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin ( B ) interactive bash shell echo $PATH result $ ssh roscoe@192.168.1.45 Password: server:~ roscoe $ echo $PATH --- /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/git/bin:/usr/X11/bin server:~ roscoe $ which git --- /usr/local/git/bin/git server:~ roscoe $ This has been a great learning experience for me. I will use your approach, i.e. create symlinks to the git stuff in /usr/local/git/bin and put them in /usr/bin which is already in my non-interactive $PATH, and delete the home directory and ~/.bashrc file. [Trac] Username with Smartcards
I'm using smartcards with Apache for user authentication. [Trac] New Ticket and View Ticket edit pages after upgrading to 0.12
I recently upgraded from 0.11.5 to 0.12. This is my first upgrade and I've never used anything before 0.11.5. As far as I can tell the upgrade went smoothly. RE: [Trac] New Ticket and View Ticket edit pages after upgrading to 0.12
Any idea where I can look to correct this issue and use the updated page format from 0.12? Try emptying your browser's cache, or do a Shift+Reload on the ticket pages. This should re-load the .js and .css files. RE: [Trac] Tables in multi column wiki page
Unfortunately no, that's indeed a limitation of #!table in 0.12. Wait for 0.13? I wonder why that's a limitation. Since the system supports nested tables now, it would seem a reasonable thing to do. Some technical issue preventing this from being done easily perhaps? A workaround would be to wrap your setup in some div (e.g. #!div class=borderless), and do something appropriate in your site.css (e.g. .borderless table { border: none }). Alternatively, you can easily achieve multi-column set up by using #!div style=float: left, width=45% and such. Thanks. I ended up using #!div class=borderless and that worked. It works a little better for my purposes than using #!div style=float:left. There was one interesting oddity with using float:left: The inner table was indented from the header text. In itself not a big deal and actually looks somewhat appealing, but I don't see why it treated the table position differently than normal. Curious. If you want this much visual control, a wiki is probably the wrong tool for the job. Remember, a wiki is not a replacement for a CMS. I agree, wiki is not a replacement for a CMS and I don't need it to be. Most pages I have are very simple. This particular one was a little unique. Combined with all of the new formatting tools available in 0.12 I was able to get very close. There is a lot of formatting power available now. By doing this I was able to take two separate, but related, pages and combine them into one for easier reference. -- Bill -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Trac Users group. [Trac] Tables in multi column wiki page
I'm trying to create a wiki page that contains tables side by side as in a two column page format. I'm using trac 0.12. In order to do this I set up a page using nested tables. The following sample code works successfully with one caveat. The outer table (which is otherwise not visible) is surrounded by a border. I'd like to remove this border. It seems logical to wrap the code using a {{{#!table processor with appropriate styles, but trac errors out with the message: !#table must contain at most one table Is there any way to get around this? Is there a better processor to use than {{{#!td? Unfortunately because of the way the table processor is implemented, it seems impossible to apply any styles, classes to the outer table if there are any nested tables. Working code with undesired surrounding border: {{{#!td style=border:none;vertical-align:top;padding-right:100px;padding-left:20px; padding-top:20px;padding-bottom:20px = Left Side Table = ||='''Column L.A''' =||='''Column L.B'''=|| ||Some data||Some more data|| ||Miscellaneous stuff||More data|| ||Useless info||Stuff|| ||Even more stuff||Data|| ||Another line||Sample|| }}} {{{#!td style=border:none;vertical-align:top;padding-top:20px;padding-bottom:20px;p adding-right:20px = '''Right Side Table''' = ||='''Column R.A'''=||='''Column R.B'''=|| ||Some data||Some more data|| ||Miscellaneous stuff||More data|| [[br]] = '''Second Table on Right''' = ||='''Column R.C'''=||='''Column R.D'''=|| ||Some data||Some more data|| ||Miscellaneous stuff||More data|| }}} Thanks, -- Bill -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Trac Users group. [Trac] category or not.
the problem I met is if i use category it will help make the wiki organize. but when I make link to the page I have input sthing like CateA/CateB/ItemNew, which means I have to check it's full path, and it's annoying. Are there any any way to simplify it? I mean either input ItemNew it will auto search/fill, or when I create CateA/CateB/ItemNew it can create same page in wiki root as ItemNew. [Trac] Attaching multiple trac projects to a single subversion repository
At my company we have several subversion repositories, each with its own trac project. One of the subversion repositories is quite active and now has about a dozen subprojects in it, all associated with the same overall software product. Its trac project is quite busy and a couple of groups would like to have their own trac instance, tied to this same subversion repository. They could then keep the trac wiki and tickets on their trac instance focused on a particular subproject. If there were the original trac instance plus two additional ones, each trac would see the same subversion repository (which is a 'read-only' operation), but each trac would have its own, disjoint set of tickets and wikis. It's the 'disjointed-ness' we are seeking. Any there any unseen problems with this? For the current trac instance associated with this repository, we use SQLite for our trac database, with the database located in the db directory under that that trac project. We use webmin so I took a look at our mail server (postfix) and saw it had a bunch of queued messages because it could not send to user properly so I created an alias for that user and those e-mails went out. Mind you, this user is not associated to the stuff we're doing with trac but I thought I'd fix it. Anyway, after that worked and decided to turn the SMTP back on in trac and all of the sudden, everything worked so maybe that had something to do with it but I don't understand why. [Trac] Creating or updating ticket hangs.
We have Trac 0.10.4 running with FastCGI on apache 2.2.6. Whenever we create or update a ticket, the browser never returns. It just sits there attempting to refresh. I can hit the stop button and then click view tickets and either the new ticket or updated ticket will be there so obviously the create/update part is working. Another thing is an e-mail is suppose to be sent which never occurs. I have tried all of the various logging levels and nothing helpful is logged. I don't see any errors in the log. Our server was recently updated with the latest version of Mandriva along with all of the various packages along with Trac (which also came from Mandriva). Before the update, we never had any problems so obviously, something in the new installation is causing a problem but I can't figure out what. All other aspects of Trac seems to be fine. Any ideas? [Trac] Re: Idiotic newbie question
You didn't mentioned that you created project with trac-admin. I suggest that you create two base directories for example c:\trac and c:\svn First create subversion: svnadmin create c:\svn\testproject Then create trac environment: trac-admin c:\trac\testproject initenv Fill in other details, when asking for repository you would but c:\svn\testproject here. And now test with tracd: tracd --hostname=localhost -p 8080 c:\trac\testproject Now you should have access to just created testproject. If it works it is time to configure XAMPP to run all that stuff. Thank you very much. I saw that in the instructions but couldn't get it to run. Took me awhile to realize what I had missed (a pesky path environment variable was all, the one for the python scripts) I will now trudge on. [Trac] Idiotic newbie question
I am a PLC guy, I do html, js, php and mysql, just getting my feet wet in Python. I am trying to run trac on XAMPP (win32, apache2.5.2) I have followed the instructions carefully at http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracOnWindows and reviewed the instructions at http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracInstall I am positive I have missed a simple step somewhere, as this is what I get when I open up localhost:8080 Available Projects And then nothing. Some notes: I created the project folder as C:\xampp\htdocs\xampp\projects I started Tracd and the window says: C:\xampp\Python2.5.2\Scriptstracd --hostname=localhost -p 8080 /projects Server starting in PID 3588. Serving on http://localhost:8080/ 127.0.0.1 - - [04/May/2008 07:46:25] GET / HTTP/1.1 200 - 127.0.0.1 - - [04/May/2008 07:46:25] GET /favicon.ico HTTP/1.1 404 - 127.0.0.1 - - [04/May/2008 07:46:36] GET /projects HTTP/1.1 404 - I have python2.5.2 in my path environment variables, but not the scripts directory. I would also like to run Subversion, I have already told it to create a repository at xampp\projects, but I want to get Trac running first before I go any farther. [Trac] setting basic auth with .htaccess
I'm setting up Trac on shared hosting where I don't have access to httpd.conf -- I can only use .htaccess. That means I can't use Location to enable basic auth for the login link. My setup is like this: In .htaccess I have: DirectoryIndex trac Files trac SetHandler fastcgi-script /Files And trac is a shell script in my doc root: $ cat trac #!/bin/bash TRAC=/home/bmoseley/trac export PYTHONPATH=$TRAC/lib/python2.3/site-packages export PATH=$TRAC/bin:$PATH #export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$TRAC/lib export TRAC_ENV=/home/bmoseley/swishtrac exec $TRAC/share/trac/cgi-bin/trac.fcgi Now, the login link currently goes to: /trac/login With httpd.conf I'd use Location /trac/login to enable auth for that location. But, unless I'm mistaken, I can't use Location in .htaccess. Can I change the Login link to go to, say, /trac_auth instead? Then I could just symlink my trac script and use Files trac_login to require auth. Hum, something isn't working. With a .htaccess like this: DirectoryIndex trac Files trac SetHandler fastcgi-script /Files Files trac_auth SetHandler fastcgi-script /Files And a doc root like this: $ ls -l total 8 -rwxr-xr-x 1 bmoseley pg933504 234 2006-10-26 13:11 index.cgi -rwxr-xr-x 1 bmoseley pg933504 235 2006-10-26 13:51 index.fcgi lrwxrwxrwx 1 bmoseley pg933504 10 2006-10-30 20:54 trac - index.fcgi lrwxrwxrwx 1 bmoseley pg933504 10 2006-10-30 20:57 trac_auth - index.fcgi Requests to /trac work (so, yes symlinks are ok), but requests to /trac_auth fail with: FastCGI: incomplete headers (0 bytes) received from server That doesn't make any sense to me. Not sure why one would work and not the other. [Trac] Re: setting basic auth with .htaccess

That means I can't use Location to enable basic auth for the login link. I went the easy route and setup /trac to not require auth and /index.fcgi to require basic auth. Then I have two redirect: /trac/login = /index.fcgi /index.fcgi/logout = /trac/ which should get me by for now. But, is there a way to set the login and logout links in trac.ini? -- Bill Moseley [EMAIL PROTECTED] --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Trac Users group.
