Pokud se nepletu, tak kontrola návrhů se provádí jen u dokumentace a
aplikací specifických pro Ubuntu, v jiném případě nemusíš zasílat oznámení
do konference a žádat o kontrolu.

 si nebyl jistý)

[Bug 330643] [NEW] Distorted sound (crackling) through pulseaudio under load

2009-02-17 Thread David Meier
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

Steps to reproduce:

- Start Ubuntu Jaunty, listen to startup sound
- Alternatives: play any sound while moving the mouse or giving the cpu some
work (e.g. md5sum /dev/urandom)

Result:
Crackling noise, audio is not played cleanly

Further information:

- after pkilling pulseaudio, the problem disappears.

- worked well in intrepid and before.

- Hardware information: Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M)
AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 01)
(see attached lspci -v) on Thinkpad T42

This is not related to problems with incorrectly set output levels - I
checked them.

[Bug 312693] Re: [Needs AGPMode quirk] crash when using openGL 3d games

2009-02-17 Thread warjowuch
Hi there,
I have tested your packages (the -ati as well as the -radeon), I installed them
both together.

I removed the AGPmode option from my xorg.conf and I observed no crashes
when watching movies.

But, however, I did see a lag in the videopart of the movies I watched.
Every 8 seconds or so, a slight stutter in the video-part of the movie, like a
few frames where missing at that point and totem-xine stayed on that moment
until it found its next.

Watching tv (tvtime) is all ok.
So, it's not yet a total go from my side.

However, thanks for the great work, the crash-thing is ok now!

2009-02-17 Thread Elvis Stansvik
Can confirm this on Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Si1520 with iwl3945 running
Intrepid. The workaround I have to do is:

1) rmmod iwl3945
2) Activate radio using kill switch button.
3) modprobe iwl3945

All other attempts, even rebooting, hasn't worked.

Please find a way to get this fixed for Jaunty for iwl3945 too! Almost a
year old bug.. And it used to work fine in Hardy.

I'm going to mark it as confirmed and let them handle it from here.

I think that the best package to report this issue is

Interestingly, the ssid noise doesn't appear in today's .xsession,

Great!

[Bug 330652] [NEW] Laptop LCD brightness settings remain in BIOS

2009-02-17 Thread mannheim
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: acpi-support

Steps to reproduce:

1. Buy a Dell XPS M1330 laptop and install Ubuntu 8.10.
2. Plug it into AC, turn on machine and press F2 to enter BIOS.
3. In BIOS make sure AC brightness is configured to max value (8).
4. Boot into Ubuntu, and use Fn-DownArrow to decrease brightness.
5. Restart and enter the BIOS again. Check the value for AC brightness.

Expected results: AC brightness is back at 8.
Actual results: AC brightness is set at a lower level in BIOS.

Although the actual behavior is maybe the desired behavior in some uses,
it causes problems for dual-boot systems. Windows Vista appears to
handle brightness differently: on this machine, the value set in the
BIOS is interpreted as a maximum in Vista, and the brightness hot-keys
control the brightness within that smaller range. (So if AC brightness
is set to 3 in the BIOS, then the hot-keys in Vista will cause the
actual brightness to vary only in the range 0-3.)

** Affects: acpi-support (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 330656] [NEW] manual package selection displays dpkg output

2009-02-17 Thread Colin Watson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: tasksel

The new system for allowing manual package selection by way of aptitude
has one major flaw: it displays dpkg output directly rather than hiding
it behind a progress bar.

This is not quite as trivial to fix as one might hope. aptitude is run
from the cdebconf-newt-terminal plugin rather than as a direct child
process of tasksel, and so it's kind of tricky to get progress
information back out. My current idea is that we could do this by
running 'aptitude --schedule-only' via the terminal plugin, and then
running 'aptitude install' within debconf-apt-progress in the usual way
so that we get a progress bar. Support for this all seems to be
basically there, but we ought to remove the Download/Install/Remove
Pkgs option from aptitude's UI when running in this mode; if people use
this then it will still display dpkg output directly.

[Bug 320577] Re: Jaunty: deluge crashes on startup

2009-02-17 Thread cariboo907
I've been using 1.1.2.dfsg-1 for a couple of weeks and it worked well.
Today I decided to limit the the upload speed, and tried to restart, and
now deluge won't start again. When opening in a terminal all I get is
1.1.2 and nothing else. Checking ps I get the following:

 ps ax | grep deluge
 5676 ?Sl 0:31 /usr/bin/python /usr/bin/deluge
 5689 ?Sl 0:07 /usr/bin/python /usr/bin/deluged --port=58846
--config=/home/jimk/.config/deluge
 7851 ?S 0:08 /usr/bin/python /usr/bin/deluge
 7957 ?S 0:07 /usr/bin/python /usr/bin/deluge -L error
 9432 pts/3S+ 0:00 grep deluge

So it is running, just nothing on the desktop.

[Bug 330653] [NEW] Clock application does not support weeks starting from monday

2009-02-17 Thread jar...@iki.fi
Public bug reported:

Gnome clock applet calendar does not support weeks starting from monday.

In Finland and I guess most of the Europe excluding UK calendar week starts
from Monday not from Sunday.
The clock application does not support setting week to start from Monday, and
this has real world problems.

For example I scheduled meeting on wrong day as I checked thursday three
weeks from now, and date I picked was obviously off by one.

[Bug 212015] Re: Automatic time-set sbackup on smb share is not working while manual backup is working

2009-02-17 Thread Jean-Peer Lorenz
Thank you for taking the time reporting this bug.

At the moment I am unable to confirm this issue with sbackup 0.10.x due
to the lack of a configured SAMBA share.

Moreover, please note, that most development work takes place on the
forked project NSsbackup. It would help a lot if one of you could test
the usecase described above with NSsbackup - but I really don't know
whether it works or not. So, please just give it a try and help making
it better. You can use it as usual software including installing via
package manager.

Have a look at the project's site at https://launchpad.net/nssbackup and
the at the FAQs: https://answers.edge.launchpad.net/nssbackup/+faqs.

Thank you.

Jean-Peer

[Bug 290252] Re: X crash in ProcXkbGetKbdByName()

2009-02-17 Thread Tom Wolf
I'm affected by this problem too - happens every now and then (but this morning
already 3 times). I'm running (uname -a):
Linux beowulf 2.6.27-12-generic #1 SMP Thu Feb 5 09:26:35 UTC 2009 i686

After the crash, I can see in Xorg.0.log.old the backtrace:

Saw signal 11. Server aborting.

I'm attaching my .xsession_errors as well.

Doing quick googles, I see at least a couple bugs that seem to deal with the
same problem:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/297442
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20081

But I don't understand what the resolutions really mean as I'm not all
that Linux savvy. All I really want to know is: is it fixed somewhere
and where/how do I pick up the fix? Or do I have to wait for the next
Ubuntu release?

Takže není potřeba, aby to někdo odsouhlasoval.

Pokud si některými překlady nejsi jist, zaškrtni u nich Someone should
review this translation, a příští překladatel třeba už bude vědět.
