[Bug 1347366] [NEW] gnome-control-center display 'Move gnome-panel' doesn't work
Public bug reported: I have a setup of a laptop with two screens, one in landscape mode, one in portrait mode. When I connect the two screens, the gnome-panel goes to one of them (in the few days I've been running Trusty it seems more or less random to which screen the panel goes). I don't care much where the panel goes, but sometimes the panel is in the landscape screen and takes only half the screen, or it is in the portrait screen and takes more than the physical width of the screen (so some icons are unreachable). When this happens, if I open gnome-control- center - display, it 'thinks' that the panel is on the other screen (where that panel length would be correct). If I move the panel on gnome-control-center to the 'correct' screen, the panel gets the right length. If I move it back to the other screen, the panel stays in the same panel but goes back to the wrong 'length'. In short, moving the gnome-panel representation on gnome-control-center screen diagram makes gnome-panel adapt to the length of the screen you move it to, but the actual panel does not move from the screen where it is. Let me know if you need any other info, thanks! ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1347366 Title: gnome-control-center display 'Move gnome-panel' doesn't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1347366/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 755066] Re: heavy i/o on sandybridge systems with small memory footprints causes system hangs
Do your systems install Maverick fine? As I said, I was able to install Natty beta 2 and transfer lots of data (around 70GB) before it cracked. But now I am unable to reinstall Natty, Maverick or even Windows 7 retail (unfortunately I do not have a recovery cd). This was on a 5 hour old Thinkpad t420s. Tech support said the did not support Linux (obviously) and that it was normal that windows 7 cracked because it was the retail (not the OEM) version, but I think the guy just thought I did not know what I was doing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/755066 Title: heavy i/o on sandybridge systems with small memory footprints causes system hangs -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 755066] Re: heavy i/o on sandybridge systems with small memory footprints causes system hangs
I could install too, and copy a large amount of data until I got the first failure. From then, failures were frequent and easily reproducible (an rsync would fail in less than 5 minutes), giving me general protection fault. However I have been unable to reinstall from scratch again, the process now fails at different stages of the process, both with Natty beta 2 and with Maverick. [Bug 769252] [NEW] Kernel panic on heavy I/O on t420s (Sandy Bridge)

[Bug 462216] [NEW] Bullet format on master slide discarded when file is saved (ppt file)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org Steps to reproduce: - Open a ppt file with a specific images for bullets. These are configured in a master slide. Everything works as it should so far. Edit the document if you wish, or you may leave it as it is. - Save the ppt. Everything still the same. - Close and reopen the ppt. All the slides still look the same, however the bullet formating in the master slide is lost. Because of this, it is impossible to make new slides look like the ones present. I attach a ppt showing this problem. The first slide shows the original bullet style, the second, the one I am forced to use after I save/reload the file. Please note that even the first slide looks as it should, if you go to bullets and numbering the settings do not even remotely resemble what is actually being used. Thanks. I had this problem and it was fixed following comment #21 (replacing flashplugin-installer/flashplugin-nonfree by adobe-flashplugin). [Bug 453536] [NEW] uvcvideo buggy (useless) with logitech quickcam for notebooks pro
Public bug reported: The device is the one pictured in http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Webcams/Logitech/Logitech-QuickCam-for- Notebooks-Pro-Webcam (looks like logitech launchs a new camera with the same name every year). Skype freezes just after choosing Show my video. Cheese is a bit more resilient. I get a frozen image which is taken at the start of the program. However if I take a picture, the obtained image is not the one frozen on the screen but apparently, the correct one, taken when I pressed the take picture button. After a bit more playing however, it froze too. Both applications were running fine with Jaunty. [Bug 445832] [NEW] XF86Sleep key not working in thinkpad T60
Public bug reported: The fn-combination to put the comptuer to sleep does not work anymore. It was working for Jaunty. Other fn-combinations, like lock screen, do work. [Bug 197290] Re: 2 gb max inbox
I am very sorry to state that the problem is not fixed in Jaunty (32 bits). I just did the test, make a a new folder and copy messages to it until you are going to get over 2GB. Then you get the Cannot append message to mbox file: /home/luisca/.evolution/mail/local/Inbox.sbd/AAPrueba: File too large Cannot believe this is still there after a year and a half. -- 2 gb max inbox https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197290 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 41179] Re: Integrate with Gnome Keyring
Looks like someone has been working on an add-on for this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/8737 Unfortunately, it does not seem to work for anyone. -- Integrate with Gnome Keyring https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/41179 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 197290] Re: 2 gb max inbox
Thanks for the research Cody!! Are you talking about 32 bit Jaunty? Have you indeed an inbox over 2gb with no problems? -- 2 gb max inbox https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197290 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 197290] Re: 2 gb max inbox
Yes, at least it avoids the big mess. Can you confirm that it does the right thing in the POP server (do not delete messages that could not be appended)? -- 2 gb max inbox https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197290 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 197290] Re: 2 gb max inbox
Is this problem still present in 9.04? I do not think expecting the user to track if the mailbox size is getting close to 2GB and split the folder in smaller ones if that is the case is an acceptable solution. -- 2 gb max inbox https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/197290 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 56610] Re: Automatic search from address entry doesn't work anymore
If you do not want to wait for the fix to reach backports, you can grab the package from here: http://diego.aureal.com.pe/archives/2006/11/30 /epiphany-patched-packages-edgy/ (download the first deb and install it with dpkg -i package.deb). Looks like it is not a problem anymore, however I'm no longer using the website which raised the problem...
