Maintenant que tu as probablement bien brisé les droits tu devras te logger en tant que root et exécuter les commandes suivantes: /bin/chmod -R 750 /bin Ensuite tu devrais pouvoir te logger en tant que formol et invoquer la commande sudo chmod et remettre le ownership de tous les répertoires à root (sudo chown -R root /). Seulement ton répertoire home (/home/formol) devrait appartenir à formol (sudo chown -R formol /home/formol). Un coup rendu là, essaie de partir firefox et thunderbird dans une console et copy-paste le code d'erreur dans un nouveau email, on va regarder ce qui ne va pas. XFS is only recommended for those who are in fact pushing their disk I/O to it's limits. But those who are using XFS have it for a very good reason - because they need it. I certainly don't use XFS for clients who are low in staff numbers, or even in high-staff locations that don't push their disk. I had one client that was a 1600-staff retail organisation sharing office documents and spreadsheets, PDFs, digital photos, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign files and marketing documents, etc over Linux/Samba3. Despite the large volume of users, ext3 suited their needs fine as the file sizes were small (never over 100MB), and the volume of traffic tiny over their 10/100 network. XFS comes into it's own on 1Gb/s and faster speeds (bonded GbE with jumbo frames, fibre channel, etc) when pushing large (500MB and larger) files around, at consistently high rates. Rosetta-Feedback - UDS Prague
Hello Arne, Jerome, Danilo and Ubuntu translators, at UDS Prague I had a short discussion with Arne and other translators about Rosetta and the general translation process. Here is a summary of the raised issues. 1. Policies As far as I know Canoncial wants to target a Wikipedia-like approach with Rosetta: Many people provide suggestions and correct each other with a kind of quality assurance through the translation team. This policy could be perhaps ok for translations with very few upstream translations, but it doesn't scale for the majority of the European languages. As western Ubuntu translators we only have to translate a small subset of packages, basically the ones written under the Ubuntu umbrella, and the documentation. Furthermore we have to spot for import errors and keep an eye on single missing or changed strings. What we want to avoid is a brain split between upstream and Ubuntu translations. For this task we only need a team of about 5 to 10 active translators, who are capable and interested in polishing. So the education of good translators is more important to us than getting a huge number of translated strings (of questionable quality). Furthermore it is also very time consuming to review and approve suggestions. I don't see a real speedup compared to writing them on my own. Especially since there is no way to provide feedback to the translators in Rosetta. If there is no contact outside of Rosetta I have to correct the same errors again and again. 2. Review instruments Although Rosetta provides some reviewing features there are still some issues. At first a changed and approved suggestion gets submitted under the approver's name and the original suggestion gets lost. This makes it impossible for the original submitter to see what was changed. Furthermore his or her credits get lost. I am not aware to which extend this is a bug. Furthermore high lightening the changes between suggestion and approval would make them more visible. Mostly there are wrong terms, typos or grammar issues. Secondly it would be nice to have a kind of comment field for changed suggestions. Currently I have to open up a chat window or write on a wiki page all the changes with comments to provide feedback to a new translator. This involves a lot of copy and paste work. 3. Quality assurance For the German team I would like to limit the persons who are allowed to make suggestions for out of two reasons: At first I would like to force them to get into contact us before working on the translation to help them to improve their quality, see above. Secondly most suggestions just get not approved since they have not been done systematically enough to send them to upstream. Personally I won't accept translations for non-Ubuntu projects if I don't know that the translator will cooperate with upstream. Currently many people just start to translate and in the end waste their time, since the output does not meet the standards. This is a pity. And I always have a bad feeling telling the people so. Therefor I would support splitting the team into two parts: a translator team who is allowed to only make suggestions and an approver or qa team. This issue has been discussed for ages now. I remember talking with Carlos about this on my first UDS Paris back in 2006. I don't want to enforce this structure for all teams, but I know of some teams who would welcome this more fine grained privilege system. 4. Upstream collaboration Are there any plans to support a version control system import/export like in the RedHat tool? Or to generally improve the system? What is the status on automatically importing from upstream version control system (GNOME, KDE)? 4. Import issues If you take a look at the German translations [1] you will notice a lot of packages with only one to ten changed terms in Launchpad. In many cases these are import errors, since the submitter and approver are registered automatically in Launchpad (e.g. Sascha Herres and Karl Eichwalder for the German gettext translation [1]). As far as I know the Finish team made a manual clean up of their translation. But to be honest this involves a lot of click-click work and I am not sure if I find anybody who is willing to do so for the German translation. 5. Resetting Would it be possible to reset the translations of one language? Mark proposed this solution in a small talk at UDS Sevilla. I already discussed this with Carlos and Danilos some time ago, but at this time they were afraid of manipulating the database directly. Have there been any internal changes that would make this possible now? Next to the import errors we face a lot of old strings of questionable quality in the German translation, since the team had a questionable policy and allowed nearly everyone to join. This ended in about 170 more or less active members. Resetting the database would allow us to make a clear cut here. Before resetting we would make sure that all valuable translation

The biggest problem as I see it is (and as you said) that there is no good translation resource for guidelines and FAQ. Also, there seems to be no way of knowing when new suggestions are submitted in Rosetta. Personally I won't accept translations for non-Ubuntu projects if I don't know that the translator will cooperate with upstream. Currently many people just start to translate and in the end waste their time, since the output does not meet the standards. This is a pity. And I always have a bad feeling telling the people so. Therefor I would support splitting the team into two parts: a translator team who is allowed to only make suggestions and an approver or qa team. This issue has been discussed for ages now. I remember talking with Carlos about this on my first UDS Paris back in 2006. I don't want to enforce this structure for all teams, but I know of some teams who would welcome this more fine grained privilege system. 4. Upstream collaboration Are there any plans to support a version control system import/export like in the RedHat tool? Or to generally improve the system? What is the status on automatically importing from upstream version control system (GNOME, KDE)? 4. In many cases these are import errors, since the submitter and approver are registered automatically in Launchpad (e.g. Sascha Herres and Karl Eichwalder for the German gettext translation [1]). If we have to keep all suggestions, probably the interface will result in a complete chaos. I don't know what could happen if ten people make ten different suggestions (maybe only for a typo) for all the strings in a page... if i have to review those strings, yes, it will take me less time to translate them from ground up. That would very precious, indeed, something like Pootle (I use Pootle for Compiz translations) does and it's very useful in reviewing suggestions. I don't know the implications that could have inserting comments inside LP-Rosetta (DB tables, code, whatever...), but that would be of great value. [Ubuntu-BR] Erro ACPI Notebook A601
Bom dia Amigos Estou com um probleminha recente no meu notebook. Instalei o Ubuntu 8.04 em um Amazon PC A601 (Turion X2 1600 Ghz, 2GB Ram, HD 160 Sata, ...). Instalado tudo corretamente, tudo funcionando completamente bem, acontece o estrago... Logo apos ele deixou completamente de entrar no ubuntu e verificando a linha que ele deixou de entrar, cheguei a seguinte linha /DSDT.aml not found. Porem utilizando a opcao acpi=off ele entra normalmente, porem sem um gerenciamento eficiente da bateria do note... Agora nao consigo instalar nenhum derivado do Ubuntu que eh preciso fazer a opcao de boot acpi=off... Paulo, cê tá fazendo o processo correto, jeito debian (Debian like for kernel compiling). O problema é que alguns drivers são restritos e não estão no corpo do kernel, logo a tua configuração pode não tê-los, mas o Ubuntu vai colocá-los por causa dos scripts de pós-instalação que ele gera. Sempre verifica o teu hardware e habilita as opções corretas no menuconfig. Outra coisa, desabilita tudo que não tiver fazendo parte do teu hardware (e.g. sistemas de arquivo para desenvolvimento, drivers para hardwares que você não possui, suporte para DVB, a não ser que você tenha uma placa de captura de TV digital padrão europeu, drivers de rede de placas que você não usa mesmo, roteamento e um montão de outras coisas). Deixa Rede (configurações e suporte, não os drivers) e USB (afinal você não sabe o que necessitará espetar na USB no futuro). Isso vai te poupar uns 70 a 80 minutos de tempo de compilação. Alguma dica? Pessoal, Por favor descartem a msg anterior... Enviei sem querer antes de terminá-la, me desculpe... Outra coisa, escrevi errado... É chaveiro padrão e não ficheiro padrão... Foi mal... Onilton, Eu recebia a mensagem sempre que o evolution tentava receber e-mail de cada uma das minhas contas de e-mail (tenho 3). Fuçando mais na Internet descobri que tem uma aplicação no Gnome para a manutenção destes chavieros e bastou criar um chaveiro chamado padrão e atribuí-lo para todas as aplicações. Desta forma, preciso somente digitar a senha deste chaveiro padrão uma vez, assim que abro o evolution. abre. Para ficar bacana só falta descobrir como faço para que não seja mais preciso digitar esta senha... Obrigado pela ajuda. Olá Emilio, Aconteceu o mesmo comigo, usava a versão 7.10 e quando migrei para 8.04 o som parou. O problema não está no alsa e sim no kernel, pelo menos aqui no meu foi isso. Fiz um teste usando o kernel do 7.10 e o som voltou ao normal. Como eu queria usar o kernel do 8.04, comecei minha busca. Foi dura a caminhada hahaha mas a única coisa que tive que fazer pra funcionar foi ver qual era o driver que eu usava e procurar numa lista de compatibilidades e a única coisa que fiz pra funcionar o som foi adicionar essa linha abaixo no final do /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base: options snd-hda-intel model=acer Bootei e todo o som normalizou. Se a sua placa de som for uma hda-intel, experimenta fazer isso que provavelmente deve funcionar. Ah! Quanto as informações do site que o Zandre passou, verifiquei no meu notebook e o número de ciclos já havia ultrapassado os 6! Em 10 minutos houve 19 ciclos! E o note só tem 6 meses de uso. Nesse ritmo o HD iria queimar rapidinho. Obrigado novamente Zandre pelas informações. Será que não haveria uma forma de divulgarmos esta informação de modo mais eficiente? Não que a lista não funcione, a questão é que fiquei 6 meses usando o Linux sem saber que o problema existia e que havia solução. Qantas pessoas não estarão na mesma situação? Falo isso por um simples motivo: é difícil convencer as pessoas que o Linux é um sistema operacional plenamente usável, que não é tão complexo aprendê-lo e que, com um pouco de esforço, quase tudo que se faça em Windows possa ser feito também nele. Há muito preconceito contra o Linux, até mesmo entre os profissionais da área de informática. Se alguém tem um HD queimado por causa de um problema como esse, mesmo que esse erro não seja do Linux, ou do Ubuntu especificamente, ainda assim muitos vão culpar o sistema, mesmo que se diga que o problema tem solução. Não sei se estou sendo claro. O que quero dizer é que esse erro especificamente deveria ser divulgado de uma forma mais abrangente, pois envolve a possibilidade de perdas financeiras. E para que se esclareça, como o site corretamente faz, que o erro não é do Ubuntu e sim do fabricante do equipamento. André, pelo que você me falou os scripts de pós-instalação carregariam os drivers dos meus dispositivos mesmo que eles não estejam no config do kernel antes da compilação. Esses scripts são executados automaticamente no carregamento do sistema? (creio que sim). Mas por que motivo não consigo acessar os dispositivos corretamente? Ex: placa wireless não encontrada, placa de vídeo mostrando imagens com problemas. O problema é que alguns drivers são restritos e não estão no corpo do kernel, logo a tua configuração pode não tê-los, mas o Ubuntu vai colocá-los por causa dos scripts de pós-instalação que ele gera. Sempre verifica o teu hardware e habilita as opções corretas no menuconfig. Outra coisa, desabilita tudo que não tiver fazendo parte do teu hardware (e.g. sistemas de arquivo para desenvolvimento, drivers para hardwares que você não possui, suporte para DVB, a não ser que você tenha uma placa de captura de TV digital padrão europeu, drivers de rede de placas que você não usa mesmo, roteamento e um montão de outras coisas). Deixa Rede (configurações e suporte, não os drivers) e USB (afinal você não sabe o que necessitará espetar na USB no futuro). Isso vai te poupar uns 70 a 80 minutos de tempo de compilação. Mas ele foi divulgado amplamente na época que foi descoberto, acontece que depois de algum tempo isso cai no esqueçimento. O time de desenvolvimento diz que apenas está seguindo a orientação dos fabricantes, o que dá para entender o lado deles, se os fabricantes diminuirem o numero de ciclos nada terá de ser feito no linux, por outro lado, se mudarem o linux nunca poderão seguir a orientação dos fabricantes e todos os discos serão tratados do mesmo jeito. De qualquer forma, se os fabricantes não se mexem, somos nós que perdemos. Era. Instalei inicialmente o 7.04; depois atualizei para o 7.10 e por fim 8.04. Mas a alguns dias formatei minha máquina e reinstalei diretamente o Hardy. Portanto, usei durante algum tempo as versões anteriores. Italo, As atualizações eu faço habitualmente pelo gerenciador de atualizações para todo o sistema, isto inclui o Firefox e tudo o mais. Os add ons, plugins e temas eu adiciono usando o próprio Firefox como gerenciador. No caso do tema que uso, a atualização é automática e feita pelo próprio Firefox. Nada foi instalado ou atualizado por fora. De qualquer forma, procure abrir o gerenciador de atualizações e verificar se existem pendências a serem aplicadas. Caso permaneça o problema, seria bom desinstalar e reinstalar o Firefox, eu faria isso pelo Synaptic. Paulo, Não sei te informar como pegar a música, também porque não sei de que se trata. Por exemplo: Se a música está em um site, pode ser uma midi, uma wave, uma mp3 e por aí afora. Neste caso, talvez um método meio burro, mas eu simplesmente salvo a página e pego o arquivo que quero dentro da pasta salva. Se de rádio on-line, desconheço como. Tem jeito, mas não sei qual, me desculpe. Com o arquivo na mão, eu uso o SoundConverter (do repositório) para converte-lo para mp3 ou outro formato. Se conseguir desta forma, beleza. Se não, passe a página para a turma ver do que se trata. E quanto a pergunta se posso usar o Symphony com o Compiz fica para depois, pois agora apareceu um outro problema: Só acessei o Symphony depois da instalação. Quando clico no atalho na aplicação -- escritorio - Symphony IBM não acontece nada, isto é o programa não entra Vasculhei pelo Google e encontrei um tutorial para instalar e desinstalar a versão beta 3 do Symphony. Lá é mostrado como resolver este problema com a versão Beta 3. É a pasta do Lotus na sua Home estará com permissão de root, e isso impede que o programa abra. E quanto a pergunta se posso usar o Symphony com o Compiz fica para depois, pois agora apareceu um outro problema: Só acessei o Symphony depois da instalação. Quando clico no atalho na aplicação -- escritorio - Symphony IBM não acontece nada, isto é o programa não entra Vasculhei pelo Google e encontrei um tutorial para instalar e desinstalar a versão beta 3 do Symphony. Lá é mostrado como resolver este problema com a versão Beta 3. [Ubuntu-BR] Ubuntu e processos 'kacpid' e 'kacpi_notify'
Pessoal, bom dia.. Tenho em meu desktop uma motherboard Intel D945GCCR. Acontece que existem dois processos chamados 'kacpid' e 'kacpi_notify' que consomem, de forma ininterrupta, aproximadamente 50% do meu processador.. Pesquisando pela net, encontrei diversos parâmetros a serem passados para o kernel na inicialização do sistema com o intuito de resolver o problema.. Consegui resolver usando este: acpi=off Porém, a partir daí percebi que minha máquina contava com apenas um núcleo de processamento.. e não os dois habituais.. Descobri aqui [ http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-software-2/kacpid-eating-cpu-99-cpu-time-213429/]que o responsável por isso é o acpi=off.. *'Remember acpi=off will not work on dual core machines , if you use this only one core will get active'* Bom, li na mesma página que um 'modprobe thermal' e um 'modprobe fan' resolveriam o problema.. porém, de acordo com o /proc/modules, esses módulos já stavam carregados em meu sistema.. na dúvida, baixei e levantei eles de novo mas não adiantou.. Li também que era necessário um 'apt-get install acpi acpid'.. fiz a instalação porém não adiantou também.. Minha pergunta eh: Alguém conhece alguma forma de eliminar esses processos fazendo com que minha maquina continue detectando os dois núcleos de processamento? * kill como root não adianta.. eles são provenientes do kernel.. [Ubuntu-BR] Erro ACPI Notebook A601
Bom dia Amigos Estou com um probleminha recente no meu notebook. Instalei o Ubuntu 8.04 em um Amazon PC A601 (Turion X2 1600 Ghz, 2GB Ram, HD 160 Sata, ...). Instalado tudo corretamente, tudo funcionando completamente bem, acontece o estrago... Logo apos ele deixou completamente de entrar no ubuntu e verificando a linha que ele deixou de entrar, cheguei a seguinte linha /DSDT.aml not found. Descobri entao que desativando a opcao USB LEGACY SUPPORT dentro do setup a instalacao corre sem problemas... Minha duvida eh: Alguem conhece a fundo o que essa opcao desativada deixa de fazer (sei apenas que ela eh responsavel pela a possibilidade de utilizacao do teclado via linha de comando Ex.: DOS)? Olá Zandre, O gerenciador de arquivos que vc diz é o Thunar? Sim, o Thunar. Agora com as configurações do micro não tem muito geito quanto ao browser. Talvez com o Debian 3.1 com o firefox 1.5 q vamos e convenhamos ainda é melhor que o IE 5. Depois de certo tempo quebrando a cabeça com o jidgo, estou baixando... Nunca havia utilizado. Nas versões anteriores do Ubuntu o OpenOffice vinha com a interface gráfica em português, mas no Hardy ela está toda em inglês. Gustavo, *sudo apt-get install openoffice.org-l10n-pt-br openoffice.org-help-pt-br myspell-pt-br* Deve resolver o problema, se alguém notar que está faltando algum pacote, avise. Eu queria também saber o que aconteceu para o openoffice não vir em português no ubuntu, o que faltou, qual foi o problema? Tem alguma entrada no launchpad sobre isso? Justamente para evitar que o erro aconteça novamente no Intrepid... Quanto ao OO3, Cristiano, seria mais legal você criar outro tópico, mas já que o assunto testa thread é openoffice, acho que não será ruim, já vi em algum lugar como fazer, vou dar uma procurada e depois posto aqui. Victor, vc tem o flash instalado, é 9, certo? Será que você pode usar a versão 10, desinstalando a 9, ou usar alguma alternativa livre, pelo menos por um tempo, para confirmamos se o problema é no flash? Mesmo usando o flash 10, meu pc trava de vez enquando mas não sei dizer e tem a ver com o flash ou não, por que geralmente o firefox tá aberto, mas pode ser outra coisa. Depois que desativei o glipper e comecei a usar o flash 10, os travamentos diminuiram significantemente para mim, agora eles estão ocorrendo e eu não consigo mais identificar a causa :/ ... 2008/6/11 Victor Maida A. When you are installing from a media (namely the dvd, but I guess that would be worst for the cdrom) you should get from there everything you need to start-up. Unfortunately this was not the case for a good 2 among the 3 computers (home, work and wife) on where I installed Ubuntu. For both, the wireless network was not working and it was really a pain to find workarounds to make it available. The sad thing is that the packages to make the network works are available and well-working, but only for download, not on the media!! How are you supposed to download something from the network, if the network itself is not working? I guess in the mind of who made this choice, wireless is the secondary network, whereas wired is the primary, but this was not the case for me. These packages MUST be included in the dvd AND cdrom for the future releases, IMHO (there is not space problem for the DVD which is not overflowing) The first laptop needed b43-fwcutter. Here the problem is the license which does not allow the distribution. Canonical should lobby to change their mind. The second computer needed ndiswrapper. All, Please keep in mind that we have all unified here to volunteer to help do what we can to help spread the word about Ubuntu Linux. A product whose very essence is built on learning about oneself through togetherness. Every voice here matters. Keeping an open mind to both sides of the debate will help you grow personally, and it will aid you professionally. There isn't anything wrong with hearing what others have to say on the matter provided that its relevent and timely. I would appreciate if in the future we all take a step back when addressing one another and congratulate in public but criticize in private. Keep the discussion on topic and do not let personal feelings influence your judgement. We haven't got one and there is some debate over the need for one. I've said it before, this team (as well as any Ubuntu team for that matter) needs a clear leader who will drive the team. I'd recommend at least a 1 development cycle commitment. Of the teams that I know about: The MOTU team didn't have a leader for years after they started out, they currently have a council, that doesn't do much more than give people commit rights. The ubuntu-doc team don't have a leader - they do have people who can commit to the repository and people who don't. They do have people who take more responsibility for things than others and there are people who's say-so is listened to more. None of these things were ever made official, they just happened de-facto. Ubuntu-UK have a leader who (as far as I can tell), basically pretends leadership doesn't exist - he gets on with initiatives and asks for help and input just as he did before and as he points out, anyone else is free to join in or start their own initiative. At least as much gets done as it ever did, probably more. Most teams that have a leader have a council of 3-5 which exists for either dispute resolution or giving out access rights to something. We have no current need for the latter at least and it's rare that the first is needed for any team.
