Am I right in thinking you'd need cryptkeeper installed and running on the computer you're using to access the files? With TrueCrypt, it should be possible to have the encrypted volume and the Portable TrueCrypt app on the server (e.g. Dropbox), which would let you access the volume from any computer, even if it didn't have TrueCrypt installed. Trouble is, I can't find how to install the Portable app files on the server with the TrueCrypt 6.3 I have running on my Karmic system. :-( -- ubuntu-uk@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-uk https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UKTeam/

Hi Jamie, Still problem connecting to the internet wirelessly. I attach the report I got when running lspci. There does not appear to be any driver shown for my wireless card and this despite my having run sudo aptitude update and then sudo aptitude install bcmwl-kernel-source. No drivers are shown in the icon for hardware drivers. Any fyrther ideas? Best. Benjy On 2 May 2010 12:33, Anthony Coyle wrote: > Thank you for this Jamie. You are right, it's a bit of a botch fix, but it seems quite a lot of people are getting a black screen and, from what I could gather, it's a kernel problem with older machines. Hi Daniel, My Asus eee 1000H shows the networks, asks me for the key to my router and I type this exactly as I should and it fails to connect but again asks me for the key. Re: [ubuntu-uk] Final Upgrade to Lucid, not worked completely
I had a similar problem with my laptop when I upgraded to Lucid. It would boot past GRUB, reach the screen with the Ubuntu logo then the screen would go black and it would just sit there doing nothing. What I did (after much Googling) was to hold down SHIFT as soon as I turned the machine on, it'll then show the GRUB boot menu. From there you can choose a kinda safe mode and what-not. But mine still had the previous kernel in the list of possible choices, so I booted with that previous kernel option, and it worked. Now I'll need to install startupmanager to make that option the default option in GRUB. Good luck! Re: [ubuntu-uk] Final Upgrade to Lucid, not worked completely
Hi there, Sorry for butting in on your conversation but I wonder if you can help on a problem I have after a clean install of ubuntu 10.4 netbook remix on my Acer eee 1000H. This is dual boot with windows xp as the other operating system. Previously I had ubuntu 9.10 and there was no problem with the wireless connection to my router. Now ubuntu 10.4 fails to connect to the router wirelessly, only via ethernet. Ubuntu sees the router and I am asked to key in the password to access the router. I do this but although I have typed the correct password ubuntu fails to connect. Xp has no problem connecting and my mobile and internet radio also have no problems with the router. I suspect that the problem is that there is not a driverin ubuntu 10.4 to operate the wireless card. When I look at the tab for hardware drivers it says no propriatary drivers are installed. I downloaded a commonly used driver from the repositary but it does not seem to show up on the system anywhere. Any suggestions of how to resolve this problem? Regards.
