[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1743094] Re: [regression] hibernation (freezes on resume) since 4.13.0-25.29
Update to #138: My problem seems to be related to Bug #1752053 and Bug #1773113. And for me now everything more or less works again by using this workaround from Bug #1752053 posting #123: -snip I found a silly workaround (after trying many many other suggestions / driver re-installs), now using nvidia-driver-396 or nvidia-driver-390; create (if not exists) a file /etc/rc.local, with this content: #!/bin/bash sleep 1 exit 0 And make it executable: chmod 755 /etc/rc.local -snip Maybe this helps some people. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1743094 Title: [regression] hibernation (freezes on resume) since 4.13.0-25.29 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1743094/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1743094] Re: [regression] hibernation (freezes on resume) since 4.13.0-25.29
I have a variant of this problem that I can not find anywhere else: I have the same problem of black screen (white cursor not blinking in the left upper corner) when I do a lock screen! Suspend problem is also present. Computer goes down correctly after pressing suspend, but when it is supposed to wake up, I get the above described screen (NO splash screen, NO message from grub). I am not sure if I should open a new bug for this Kernel: 4.15.0-22 OS: Xubuntu bionic PC: Lenovo P51 GDriver: NVidia proprietry, Lenovo BIOS already set to NOT use CPU internal graphics Happy to provide further infos if anybody is interested.

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 659793] Re: xserver-xephyr: Couldn't find keyboard driver evdev
Are the --enable-kdrive-mouse and --enable-kdrive-kbd arguments necessary? They seem unrelated to the specific symptomps originally reported, and according to https://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=646686#12 they may have issues. From that bug comment: On Wed 2013-03-27T14:20:34+0100 Geert Uytterhoeven ge...@linux-m68k.org wrote: - I did not enable kdrive-kbd, as it's completely broken. Since it no longer fills in KdKeyboardInfo.minScanCode and KdKeyboardInfo.maxScanCode, any keypress causes messages like: driver Linux console keyboard wanted to post scancode x outside of [0, 0]! - kdrive-mouse still works (e.g. -mouse ps2, or -mouse mouse for protocol probing, which takes some time), but the recommended way these days is kbd-evdev, using the following (ugly) command line parameters: -keybd evdev,,device=/dev/input/event0 -mouse evdev,,device=/dev/input/event1 It seems like just adding --enable-kdrive-evdev would be sufficient and safer, no? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/659793 Title: xserver-xephyr: Couldn't find keyboard driver evdev To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/659793/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1193686] Re: Sticky keys doesn't react to mouse buttons
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected regression reproducible trusty ** Description changed: To reproduce: 1. Open Universal Access and activate Sticky keys under the Typing tab. 2. Open a terminal. Press and release shift, then press A twice. Observe that the First A gets capitalized, and the second doesn't. In other words the shift stuck until the first A was pressed, then disabled. That's the expected behavior. 3. Press and release Alt. Observe that dragging inside the terminal moves the window as Alt+mouse drag moves windows. Release the mouse button and drag again... What does happen: It still moves the window. What should happen: It should drag out a selection in the terminal, just as is normal for dragging in a terminal without any modifiers. The first mouse button release should cancel the stickyness of the Alt key, just as a keyrelease would do. History: I've seen the this bug in previous Ubuntu releases, and I'm not the only one as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/415685 attests. I'm sure it started out working correctly when I started using stickykeys, then having the current faulty behavior, get fixed and then regress again now. I'm not sure about the exact releases, but I'm absolutely positive that it worked correctly in 12.04. I have 2 different laptops that had it working in 12.04 and both have the current bug in 13.04. Sadly I upgraded both directly from 12.04 to 12.10 to 13.04, so I didn't notice whether the problem exists in 12.10. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1193686] Re: Sticky keys doesn't react to mouse buttons
I cannot see how a BIOS update can be relevant. I probably didn't make it absolutely clear, but I saw this issue regress between 12.04 and 13.04 not only on this Dell XPS 13, but also on a Lenovo X410s, two entirely different laptops. I got a new workstation at the time, and decided on testing the new 13.04 on the old laptop before attempting to upgrade the 12.04 that the XPS shipped with. I find it highly unlikely that both should have the same bug in entirely different BIOS'es. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1193686 Title: Sticky keys doesn't react to mouse buttons To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1193686/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Re: [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1242193] Re: Xorg freeze no signal on display after upgrade to 13.10
I have installed 14.04 dev image (amd64) to a virtualbox install on the hardware that had the issue. The install was successful and the command was executed. Please let me know if this is what you were looking for. (I do not want to install the dev version on the hardware at the moment.) -glenn --glenn On Sun, Jan 5, 2014 at 10:17 AM, Christopher M. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1193686] [NEW] Sticky keys doesn't react to mouse buttons
Public bug reported: To reproduce: 1. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1069574] Re: Intel graphics card driver update causes black screen
I don't personally own this laptop, but I just finished helping a relative and here is what I've found. 1. In his setup it's a kernel update, using the older kernel works. Can you do the same? (3.2.0-24-generic vs. 3.2.0-32-generic) 2. It appears to be the exact same issue with 12.10. He can't even boot to a 12.10 install media. I will attach the 2 dmesg from both kernels. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1069574 Title: Intel graphics card driver update causes black screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1069574/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 987153] Re: Xorg freeze
@kenorb Thanks for looking into this bug. I have read through the bugs you suggested. for 966744 My bug does not relate to suspend if i suspend with ATI proprietary driver installed the computer locks up completely. As for 988008 it is only sometimes that the mouse cursor are able to move, most times the computer just freezes. In 1007904 i'm on kernel 3.2.0-27 and still have freezes. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 987153] Re: Xorg freeze
Hi Ildefonso Camargo. Sorry not to have replied earlier. To me this bug has been going through 11.10 on to 12.04, it started after one of the upgrades of Catalyst Centre, (I think around 12.1). Now i have tried with the proprietary drive offered in Jockey and it's still locking up 2-3 times a day. I have not been able to determine what causes the lockups, but if I un-install the proprietary drive and uses the opensource Radeon drive the lockups stops. Are your using a E-450 with Radeon HD 6320 ? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/987153 Title: Xorg freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/987153/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
