Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 8.0.0
I have a suspicion what might have caused the write permission issue with my stick. The USB stick was originally formatted on a Synology NAS. The data was then copied onto the stick via the NAS. So the rights on the stick were definitely not belonging to "tc". That would explain why initially i could not write to the stick over SAMBA. Clicking "set write permissions" then solved this issue. Why I could then write new files, but not overwrite existing files is not clear to me. Anyway, issue solved. I have now deleted all the files on the stick and recopied them from the Windows PC via SAMBA. I can now overwrite existing files. - Logitech Media Server Version: 8.1.2 on Synology DS1815+ DSM 6 / Docker - SB Touch (2x) jacobacci's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63932 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114828 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] 'Official' docker container for LMS?
Working now, by sheer luck (fairly noob here). :D While googling, I stumbled on 'this' (https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/32018-permission-denied-w-synology-docker/&tab=comments#comment-307843) thread. So I figured I'd try playing with permissions. SSHing into my Syno, I found the ID of my admin account (which has a different user name for security reasons) is 1026. So I changed the environment variable PUID from 99 to 1026 and lo and behold LMS can see the mapped music and playlist folders now. It is currently busy scanning the library. The /config mapping also works now. I have no idea whether what I did is kosher or not, but it seems to work - Logitech Media Server Version: 8.1.0 on Synology DS1815+ DSM 6 / Docker - SB Touch (2x) jacobacci's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63932 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111828 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] 'Official' docker container for LMS?
The plot thickens I have corrected the spelling of /config. Now the LMS container stops unexpectedly after a few seconds. Next step: With only the /config mapping (/music and /playlists removed), the container stops unexpectedly after a few seconds With only /music and /playlists mappings and read only selected (/config removed) the container runs. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] 'Official' docker container for LMS?
I think I have found a fairly elegant way now that seems to work for me (not sure if it is "correct") - installed the latest stable container from scratch and configured it. Besides the volume mappings for /music and /playlists I added a mapping /config pointing to Volume1/Public/Docker/LMS. LMS then places its configuration files there - exported a backup to Volume1/Public/Docker/LMS - stopped and deleted the LMS stable container in Docker in order to test the new install process - imported the configuration file from Volume1/Public/Docker/LMS. This created a container from the LMS stable image in the Docker image store - started the new container. The new container now has all the port configurations and volume mappings. With the volume map for /config, it gets its LMS config details from Volume1/Public/Docker/LMS. This includes all the LMS settings incl. plugins - to update the container, I simply download the latest stable image und run this process from point 3 onwards Does this sound ok? - Logitech Media Server Version: 8.1.0 on Synology DS1815+ DSM 6 / Docker - SB Touch (2x) jacobacci's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63932 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111828 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

adhawkins wrote: > Then if you use docker-compose (which I'd highly recommend) it's just a > matter of doing: > Thanks Andy Looks like a plan. As I see, docker compose is already included in the Synology Docker image. So just to be sure, all I have to do is the following: - create docker-compose.yml containing the folder and port mappings (as listed 'here' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?111828-Official-docker-container-for-LMS&p=1001459&viewfull=1#post1001459)) - copy docker-compose.yml to the docker folder on the synology (is this the correct location?) - start the lms docker container The LMS web interface tells me when a new image is available, so I don't think I need DIUN at the moment (LMS is my only docker container for the time being) Update the container as listed in your post when needed Is this correct? As DSM7 will not support LMS anymore, I have made the move to Docker. I installed Docker, then added the 8.1.0 container. I mapped port 9000 to 9002 and mapped the two directories for music and playlists. I also added watchtower according to the following instructions: https://www.reddit.com/r/synology/comments/gzbf79/tip_setting_up_watchtower_to_update_your_docker/ LMS read my library ok. When I start IP:9002 in a browser, I can see the LMS user interface and all my music. My SB Touch however cannot connect to LMS on the NAS. Doing a factory reset on the Touch did not help. [SlimDevices: Unix] PiCorePlayer LMS questions
Hi all I have been using PiCorePlayer in a player role on RP3 for quite a while. Now I would like to use LMS on the RP3 as well with the following functionalities: - store music on the microSD card (128Gb, so there should be enough space) - access the music folder from a Win10 PC (much like I access music on a Synology NAS) - continue to use the Squeezebox functionality on the RP3, playing out through a hifiberry digi+ optical - use other Squeezebox Classic devices to play the music on the RP3 via LMS I am not very fluent in Unix, so the challenge is the second point, accessing the music directory from a Windows 10 PC to manage the music.
