How to move a VM from one Zone to Another

2014-05-15 Thread Juan Gomez
Hi Everyone,

I have a Cloudstack environment with two diferent zones configured both with
advance networking. I want to move a Vm with its volumes from one zone to the
other one. What procedure will you advise to do this operation?. I don't know
if maybe it is possible to take a VM snapshot and used to raise the new Vm in
the other zone?.

Thank you for your help
Juan

Kind of urgent - snapshooting doesn't work

2014-05-15 Thread Andrija Panic
Hi,

I'm having an urgent situation with the production CS installation.

I'm unable to make any snapshots, due to "internal error creating
snapshot..":

Please find attached CS management logs - there is NO entry in libvirt log
on CS management server (which also hosts VMs), and there is NO entries on
the CS agent log on this same CS management server. Also there are only few
lines logged inside SSVM (yes, I have used the script
/usr/local/cloud/systemvm/ssvm-check.sh to confirm that all works fine).

Those are lines from within SSVM:/

what is also strange, those lines seems to be just repeating as the time
goes buy...
This might be some issue with SSVM "talk" to NFS Secodnary Storage server ?

What is funny, the *folder* on Secondary Storage NFS host *was
created* /mnt/b3eaee50-4fbe-32cf-b384-0d7e09c88a2b/snapshots/2/885,
but no files inside...
I have restarted cloudstack-management service, also restarted SSVM, etc,
but no changes...

But making template and registering ISO files works fine, so not sure what
is happening here...

Thanks for any input

Not able to connect a Vm to the public network

2014-05-15 Thread Juan Gomez
Hi everyone,

I don't know if I'm going to make sense but i will try my best ,

Right now we have 5 VM that are connect with and isolated NIC to see each
other, they also have a shered NIC to have publi access. One of the VM is a web
server and needs to have public access. Right now This server has 2 NIC the
isolated one and one Shared, but we are not being able to connect to it through
the public network only through the priveta network it works fine.
Does anyone have any insight on way the shared NIC is not working, or what may
be the cause for this to not work ?

Thank you
Juan Gomez

Re: new installation--ssvm won't start

2014-05-15 Thread Ian Young
I wiped the server clean and started over again today. In the process, I
realized that, the previous time, I forgot to uncomment the Domain line in
/etc/idmapd.conf. However, even though I included the step this time, the
GUI installer still seems to hang on the final "Creating system VMs" step.
I see two VMs running when I run "virsh list" (the secondary storage VM
keeps getting regenerated). In the primary storage, it looks like there is
one complete 693 MB image but the other two are only 11 and 12 MB, although
they are gradually growing. What's happening here?

[root@virthost1 ~]# ls -hl /var/primary/

The management server log keeps reporting that "There is no secondary

Is F5 v11.3 supported?

2014-05-15 Thread Amin Pashapour
Hi All

Looks like CS can't work with F5 BigIP version 11.3. When I try to add an
instance with a network based on an offering with this version as LB, I get the
errors shown below.  I did the exact same thing that I did for F5 V10.1 which
worked fine. All F5 systems are virtual editions.

vlan-715 is indeed created on F5 and subsequent retries come back with "already
exists".

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Amin

Re: Am I missing something? XenServer 6.2 SP1 & CloudStack 4.3

2014-05-15 Thread Geoff Higginbottom
My experience is that CloudStack 4.3 does support XenServer 6.2 with SP1 and
XS62ESP1004 applied.

This Citrix article confirms this
http://support.citrix.com/cms/kc/cloud-troubleshooting/cloudplatform-compatibility-matrix/
as does the CloudStack Hypervisor capability view under Global Settings.

Hi Eric,

CloudStack does not support XS620SP1 in CS 4.3, because of that you are not
able to deploy "Windows Server 2012 R2" guestOS.
The next CS release i.e. CloudStack 4.4 supports XenServer 6.2SP1 and XenServer
6.2.5 as well.

Rebuild KVM XML files

2014-05-15 Thread Fred Newtz
Is there anyway to export the libvirt XML files from the Cloudstack
database? Maybe a script or something? My entire system is borked and I
need to get some production machines back online asap. Would hate to have
to rebuild the entire system again.

I was at least able to figure out how to mount and am restoring data now
from a few important VMs.

Thanks,

Hi everyone,

I don't know if I'm going to make sense but i will try my best ,

Right now we have 5 VM that are connect with and isolated NIC to see each

server and needs to have public access. Right now This server has 2 NIC the
isolated one and one Shared, but we are not being able to connect to it through
the public network only through the priveta network it works fine.
Does anyone have any insight on way the shared NIC is not working, or what may
be the cause for this to not work ?

If you want to use API, then use "listVirtualMachines" API with "listAll=true"

2014-05-15 Thread dean . kamali
Jonathan, you can always start over, but that's not logical way of
troubleshooting, you might have specified wrong IP settings when you first
created the zone, and RV is failing because it's not able to ping outside
world.

I asked you to check if you see able to ping ssvm public IP address, if not
then that's could be it. Otherwise it could be something else.

replacement for realhostip

2014-05-15 Thread Ian Young
I decided to create my own internal realhostip.com. My DNS servers use
PowerDNS, not BIND, so the $GENERATE directive was not an option and I
didn't want to have to populate my DNS servers' databases with a record for
every possible IP address. Fortunately, I found the following Lua script:

https://github.com/terbolous/powerdns-cloudstack-proxy-dns

I can confirm the Lua script works as expected and my CloudStack server can
be tricked into believing my internal DNS servers are the authority for
realhostip.com:

[root@virthost1 ]# dig +short 1-2-3-4.realhostip.com
1.2.3.4

I followed this guide and updated the console proxy/SSVM SSL certificate
with my own *.realhostip.com certificate.

http://docs.cloudstack.apache.org/projects/cloudstack-administration/en/latest/systemvm.html#changing-the-console-proxy-ssl-certificate-and-domain

The console proxy restarted but it's still blank when I try to view the
console. Does the domain have to be something other than realhostip.com?

CS 4.2 Primary storage allocation

2014-05-15 Thread Erdősi Péter

Hi,

I have 2 preallocated iscsi storage on my cloud, and want to deploy a VM.
One of the storage (that added first) have around 130 GB free space, the
another one have around 30GB..
My VM needs to allocate around 50 GB (template), and it's fail, because
of storage capacity (already increased storage limit's on global variables)

If I'm not wrong, it's want to add disk to the DATA2, (which is the newest).

Am I right? Is there any known allocation algorithm for primary
storages? (can I change it maybe?)

Thanks,
 Peter

NUMA support

2014-05-15 Thread Andrija Panic
Hi, not sure if this is the right place, or should I post to developers
list:

Since for virtualization, you would usually use servers with more than 1
CPU, etc, does CloudStack have plans for supporting NUMA in terms, of, i.e.
managing memory and cpu placememtn on different NUMA nodes based on free
memory on numa nodes, or perhaps by using NUDAD, to enable daemon numad to
manage cpu/ram placement accross numa nodes...

So I did not include the "%0D", but went back and added the line breaks in the
database manually. You think that's enough or do I need to delete and re-upload
with the %0D?

I know this has something to do with idmapd and NFS. This error keeps

And "Integration of Citrex XenDesktop and XenApp with CloudStack -

place to report things like this? Would also be nice to correct the

Hang when creating system VMs CS 4.3

2014-05-15 Thread dimas yoga pratama
Hi all,

I'm trying to install cloudstack 4.3 on CentOS 6.5 with single hardware and
proxy environment. I followed this guide
http://cloudstack-installation.readthedocs.org/en/latest/qig.html.
I managed to login to cloudstack dashboard and go to basic installation
wizard. When it comes to creating system VMs step, it takes a very very
long time and when I refresh the browser suddenly it redirect to dashboard.
I check the infrastructure tab and I found 2 system VMs already created,
the VM state showed "starting" but the agent showed nothing.
Also in dashboard tab I found this notification : "Management Server:
Management network CIDR is not configured original.type 14"
why is that happening? anything wrong with my installation?

This is my management-server.log: http://tny.cz/201f10b4

And this is my configuration with basic installation: http://tny.cz/8b90a0cf

Help me please.

Usage server not working

2014-05-15 Thread Andrija Panic
Hi.

I need to provide the usage data to my developers, but there seems to be
almost no data inside mysql tables for cloud_usage database.

Is this the normal behavior - please note that the original installation
was 4.0.0, then we upgraded to 4.2...

Jan 10.2013 is the date when the cloudstack (4.0.0) was installed originaly.
Only few of the tables have been updated since then...
Global parameter to enable usage server is also set to "true", default GMT
time zone, etc..
Service also running etc..

Am I missing something ?

Thanks

Hi sandeep,

Are primary storage and secondary storage configured correctly?

If yes, then

Change the system VM state from starting to stop in cloud DataBase.

Note:Before do any modifications in DataBase please take a backup of DataBase.

Can you provide the log file to find out the exact cause.

Thank you,

One thing I just noticed is that when URL encoding the "+" character is
interpreted as a "space". So now the intermediate is filled with spaces where
there were "+" signs. Any idea how to escape the "+" and have it interpret it
