Re: [libreoffice-users] Font menu display not working correctly
Has anyone had this issue with other Windows versions, or Linux? I have not installed 5.0.x yet on my Linux systems, so I do not know. I have down-graded to 4.4.5 on the 2 Win10 [Home and Pro] dual boot laptops. Hopefully Win10 will fix the issue[s], if it is the actual problem. When I page down through the different fonts [in the tool-bar option] many of the fonts do not show what they look like, including some MS installed ones. This was not a problem with 4.4.4, after I upgraded to Win10. The kicker is sometimes one part of the font list is not displaying correctly, while the next time I use LO it does. Other parts/fonts seem not to display their "style" every time I open LO and look for a font to use. Once all the fonts did not display anything other than their names. So, has anyone seen this issue with 5.0.0.1 on Windows [10] ? [libreoffice-users] 12 instances of the same sheet
Hi guys (and girls), I need to create a spreadsheet with a sheet for each month of the year. This per-month sheet is actually quite complex, involving a lot of formatting, DDE(), and VLOOKUP() calls etc.. Therefore, I would really like to create one master sheet that has the month parametrised (which I know how to do). But how can I instantiated 12 sheets from a master sheet such that changes to the master apply to all 12 sheets? For instance, if I change the formatting of a cell, or the DDE() function call, how can I make sure that I don't have to make this change 12 times? Have you had any experienced with the like? I've considered creating just one sheet for all 12 months, but it just gets too wide and isn't really nice to deal with anymore. I've also considered providing 12 forms as "views" into the sheet, but that does seem like overkill too. Does anyone know what I should best do? -- @martinkrafft | http://madduck.net/ | http://two.sentenc.es/ "and the sea isn't green and i love the queen and what exactly is a dream? and what exactly is a joke?" -- syd barrett spamtraps: madduck.bo...@madduck.net -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
[libreoffice-users] Corrupt file restoration
Hi, My name is Rachuel, and I have been a long time user of your LibreOffice documents program. But unfortunately, your program may mean that I will fail one of my University classes for this semester. An essay I had written on your program became corrupted and deleted itself. Therefore I have no assignment to submit with no time to re-write it. All accompanying copies of my file all show no content. Upset is an understatement of how I feel about this. I need my file restored or I will most certainly fail this class. Please find attached a copy of the corrupt file. Please help me fix it. Re: [libreoffice-users] Font menu display not working correctly
Hi :) So it sounds like you are saying the problem didn't exist in the 4.4.5 = in which case it might be good to post a bug-report about it so the devs know there might be an issue. If Win10 IS displaying the fonts correctly in the list but only for the "Still" branch then it's gotta be something screwy with the 5.0.x of LO. I'm trying out a Chromebook right now so i can't even test it on Linux :( Also for the 5.0.x branch it's wy too early for me to install on a main machine. For instance, if I change the formatting of a cell, or the DDE() function call, how can I make sure that I don't have to make this change 12 times? For cell formatting, instead of making local changes to cell formats, create cell styles as necessary and apply these to appropriate cell ranges. When you need to change the formatting of a cell or cell range, modify the style instead. For function calls, you may be able to achieve what you need by making those calls refer in some way back to a master sheet: o If you need, say, identical function calls on your many sheets, you could put the function call on the master sheet and have each dependent sheet merely refer to the result expressed there. o In other cases, it may be possible to create a more complicated function call on the dependent sheets, where the parameters of the function call themselves refer back to a controlling (and adjustable) value on the master sheet. The master sheet would not itself have the function calls but would have cells whose contents controlled the function calls elsewhere. But there is another trick that will help. Use Shift+click or Ctrl+click on the sheet tabs to select multiple sheets. Changes that you make whilst multiple sheets are selected apply to all those sheets. I trust this helps.
