If and only if there is one that says Delivered To: moderator for users@openoffice.org then the sender is *un*subscribed. If that header is absent then the sender is subscribed. In Outlook Express, once a message is open, go to FilePropertiesDetailsMessage Source and then scroll down to see either one or two Delivered To: headers. In Thunderbird I think it's ViewHeadersAll. In Gmail/Google Mail in a web browser it's More ActionsView Original. Don't know about other mail programs. In Thunderbird you can set up a filter to, for example, highlight in red in your inbox messages from unsubscribed posters. Note that this statement is only true for Thunderbird's *e-mail* module. [users] Re: [opensuse] Resurrecting VMware (6.5) After Kernel Update?
Hi Randall, Although for n earlier version, I think as well as VMWare server, the VMWare needs to be recompiled to know where the new kernel bits are. Hence after a kernel update all I did was run, as root user, the following command: # vmware-config.pl Most of the defaults are fine or keep the old settings, at least according to my notes. ymmv but HIH Hylton 2009/3/23 Dominique Leuenberger dominique.leuenber...@tmf-group.com: On 3/22/2009 at 19:43, Randall R Schulz rsch...@sonic.net wrote: Hi, I'm sure I should know this, but I can't recall or find the answer... After updating a kernel, what must be done to restore VMware functionality? Randall, In a perfect world: nothing. In a VMware world: the kernel modules need to be recompiled. now the trick: - VMware actually should detect if the modules are there, and if not ask for the root password and compile them. most likely though, when you start VMware, it just tells you which modules are not loaded and at segfaults. In this case, you will need this script: --- START SCRIPT --- #/bin/sh cd /usr/lib/vmware/modules/source for a in *.tar ; do tar xf $a; done pushd vmblock-only; make; popd pushd vmci-only; make; popd pushd vmmon-only; make; popd pushd vmnet-only; make; popd cp vmci-only/Module.symvers vsock-only/ pushd vsock-only; make; popd find -name *.ko -exec cp \ {} /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/kernel/drivers/misc/ \; depmod -aq --- END SCRIPT --- Sometimes I ended up also with the need to modify /etc/init.d/vmware. You would find a function vmwareLoadModule() I suggest to change it to: vmwareLoadModule() { /sbin/modprobe $1 || exit 1 return 0 } then issue /etc/init.d/vmware start and you should be back in business. (that is, if you're using a kernel 2.6.28! Otherwise it's getting really nasty with an additional patch to be applied to the modules.) Thanks, Brian! That's exactly what I was looking for. I'm posting this to provide more detail to people who search the forum archives in the future. That URL takes me to: ftp://ooopackages.good-day.net/pub/OpenOffice.org/MacOSX/3.0.0rc4/ which has hundreds of versions, all Mac OS X, all 3.0.0rc4, as the URL indicates. Includes Intel and PowerPC versions. The rest of the file-naming convention seems to specify language (en=English), and variant of the language (en-GB=English Great Britain). I chose: Oo_3.0.0rc4_MacOSXIntel_install.dmg which has no language designation but is the US English version. Installed it, ans it looks great! I'm on linux, with ooffice 2.4 (i can upgrade to 3.0 if needed) After some hard googling and debian-help i managed to get this macro working, mostly copied from http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?p=194938#194938 It would be nice if a macro of this kind was included in OOcalc, for exporting. [users] How to override format defaults(?) in Calc
This looks so simple I'm obviously overlooking something but I can't figure out what's happening. In OO-Calc V 3.0.0, I'm trying to type the string DMoines (without the enclosing quotes)into a cell but it keeps getting changed into Dmoines, i.e. I can't capitalize the 'M'. I tried some other things and find that if I type aBCd into a cell and then try to type ABCd into the cell below it, it keeps getting changed to aBCd and if I type EFGh into a cell and then try to type EFGH into the cell below it gets changed to EFGh. What is causing all this, what's the rationale behind it and how do I get around it? What is causing all this, what's the rationale behind it and how do I get around it? You have two related but somewhat separate issues here. 1. To avoid DMoines being changed into Dmoines: Go to Tools Autocorrect Options, and uncheck Correct two initial capitals 2. To avoid the second situation (typing ABCd and having it changed to aBCd if you had previously entered aBCd in that column): Go to Tools Cell Contents, and click on Autoinput to remove the check mark by it. Hope this helps. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.org

Re: [users] How to override format defaults(?) in Calc
Hi Dick the solution is in menue - extra - "autocorrect". There are 2 option for you. If you have some problems with uppercaseletters in front of a word use the third tab options the other is - use the second tab execption in the lower arear you can enter single words where the rules from tab 3 should not work. This is similar to wirter in OO sincerely Franz Dick Hoffman schrieb: This looks so simple I'm obviously overlooking something but I can't figure out what's happening.
