My suggestion is to double tap and hold on one of the apps, then drag your finger on top of another app. When you release, it will create a new folder. RE: 7 little words
Not Raul, but yes it is accessible. Along the left side are the clues. Along the right side you can see how many letters and when a word is found it will be put there in the list. Across the bottom of the screen are the letter combinations. These are tapped in sequence such as su nda nce. You then go to just above the letters on the right side of the screen and it will say "guess." Tap it. If the word is correct it will be placed in the list above this button. If not it will say "shuffle" and double tapping will move the letter combinations around. On the left corner, rather hidden, so really look, there is a button that says I believe edit or something like that. This takes you into a screen where all the numbered puzzles are. Double tap on any number and it brings up a new puzzle. I have filled in 2 puzzles, but I think I have met my match with the one I am working on now! Re: plain old dialing phone question and Four Square
Hello. Foursquare is a social app where you check into show off with your friends where you're located. Some people don't like using it because they feel it is a violation of their privacy. This is because it shows to the world where you are located when you check-in. However if you use this knowing that this is what it does and this is the reason for its existence, then it is not a problem. You should check out their website for more information. They could probably explain it better than I am. I also use foursquare, and if you look me up my twitter username, you should be able to find me. -- Raul A. Re: Urgent jail break help
In that case you need to let us know which tweak or add on you are installing which is causing the problem. Just play your music after installing one thing and you should be able to find out. This is done by the process of elimination. I made the problem one time of installing 10 or 11 things all at once. Then when something did not work right, I did not know which one was causing the problem. So rather than fiddling around, I removed all those 10 tweaks at once and just installed one at a time until I found it. -- Raul A. Re: SpeedDots Otter Box Defender Question
Actually it is possible to put on the OtterBox screen protector speed.version on upside down. The reason for this is because this screen protector has been cut shorter to fit over the OtterBox face it self. This means that the top portion and the bottom portion of the speed.protector is not there. So I can see why somebody who wasn't paying attention would do this. Or rather, I can see how someone who isn't paying attention could do this. Hopefully this explanation adds some clearity to this puzzling situation. -- Raul A. Hi. The first thing I noticed when I opened the updated Pandora app is that it took me directly to my radio station presets. I did not have to go through the different ads like before. The other thing I noticed when you are playing music, the thumb up button is right above the home button. This is a little different, but still not bad. That is all for now. -- Raul A. RE: pandora update
Hi, Yes, I am listening to Pandora as I write this. I haven't done an exhaustive run-through, but as far as I can tell, it's quite accessible and has lots of cool features like being able to see lyrics and find out about the style of music the song falls under, etc. There are just a couple of things I haven't figured out yet. There are two "thumbs up" buttons right next to one another. I haven't asked a sighted person yet, cut I'm guessing one of them is a "favorite" button while another may be that you just generally like it. There is something that sounds like 'option up" between the "thumbs down" and "thumbs up" buttons which brings up a cool list of options: start a new station 9based on the current track that's playing), share station, buy on iTunes, bookmark and "I'm tired of this track". That last one is great because I don't like to say "thumbs down" on a song I really like but am tired of because I don't want to banish it forever. I don't know what it does with 'I'm tired of" but imagine maybe it doesn't play that song again for a certain length of time or something. When you're playing a station, there's a labeled button, but I can't understand what it's saying. However, the effect seems to be to take you back to your list of saved stations while continuing to play the one you are listening to. At the top of the screen, there's a window with the artist, song title and album title and a close button if you don't want that to appear. Between the track and album titles is an "expand now plaing" button. If you tap the expand button, you then have a "contract" button in its place. I found this a little confusing at first. When the button says "expand," it means the info is expanded at this time. The expanded info includes infor about the artist, the genre and characteristics of the track and the lyrics though all this info is not available for every track. All in all, I see no reason to stick with the old Pandora. Hi, Just choos what you want to be transfered over and then do a sync. You can use the same apple id, just don't restore from a backup. IF we can't get it sorted, post the question on http://www.jailbreakqa.com and someone should be able to sort it out. Cheers, Ben. Re: Bluetooth earphone and voiceover question
Hi Maria, In order to have voiceover go through your bluetooth headset at all times when the set is connected, you need to have a bt headset with the a2dp protocol. The one you bought probably doesn't have that, which is why you can't hear VO when not on a call. If you can take or send the one back that doesn't have this and theen get one that does, you will be able to hear vo at all times, not just when on a call. Re: Bluetooth earphone and voiceover question
With bluetooth, the earphone or what ever has to be compliant with a certain protocol in order to have voiceover routed through it. What ends up happening if it isn't will be that only specific things will come through the headset, this was the case with older bluetooth devices where only calls and such could be herd via the headset. Here's a little info about the protocol in question taken from this link. It's a pretty neat read. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647 Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) Advanced Audio Distribution Profile allows high quality audio (stereo or mono) to be streamed from one device to another over a Bluetooth connection. This is commonly used to play music wirelessly from iOS to a wireless headset or a compatible car audio system. Perhaps it's a bit more than A2DP that allows voiceover to be herd but this is also the case with my Motorola h3 I used to use for an older nokia. On the IPhone, only calls come through while on the 6682, I could here talks as well. Take care. Re: Jail breaking -- What is repository?
In a butshell a repository is a website where the different apps and tweaks are stored. When you add a repository to cydia you are giving it permission to access those apps and download them. There are somewhere around 5 that are pre installed when you jailbreak and these are the only ones that have truely been vouched for and tested for security. It is possible to add a repository with harmful content in it so make sure you are comfortable with anything you add. i hope this helps make sense of it. have a good day! Re: Hint option on roter
Hi, If Hints are on, VoiceOver will speak extra information about a second after speaking an item. In some cases, the hints tell you what to do, such as to double-tap to activate. In other cases, the hint tells you what the control does. Best, Anna On Jul 7, 2012, at 1:24 PM, Kim wrote: > Hi, > > What does the hints option on the roter do? Re: Hint option on roter
Hello Kim, If you enable this feature, you can hear the hint when it is available. Such as on the home screen, when you choose one of the icon, you will hear "dobble tap to open" or something like that. But if you disable it, you wont hear the hint. -- Katsutoshi Tsuji On 2012/07/08, at 3:24, Kim wrote: > Hi, > > What does the hints option on the roter do? RE: Urgent jail break help
Hi Mike, It sounds like something you installed has trashed your audio volume. Next time, try playing music after each installation of something from Cydia. Or in lieu of that, you could remove those items one at a time, testing the music player as you go to find the culprit. Also (and I'm sure you've tried this), once the music's playing and even if you don't hear it, hit the volume up button on the side of the phone several times. I've seen apps turn either the Voiceover or Playback volume down randomly at times. I have had one or two extra bugs while using voice over on my jailbroken iPhone 4 but nothing has ever moved and the bugs are certainly easy to live with. The two biggest I deal with occasionally are folders closing a split second after I open them and I just have to re tap the screen and occasionally when I press the sleep button my phone will take a screen shot instead of locking. to fix this I just tap the home button twice then hit the sleep button and it goes right to sleep. these are the only issues I have ever had with voice over. Everything has worked just fine for me but I have not unlocked my phone. Only jailbroken it. If I am lucky I will have one of these bugs happen tonight when I finish recording. cheers! I'll be going camping in just under two weeks and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good boom box-like dock for cheap. I'm not looking for crazy amazing sound quality, I just need something cheap and portable that'll play music on our camp site really. (We're not actually roughing it, btw -- we will have electricity.) Any help would be grately appreciated. I live in Canada so links to Canadian sites carrying the product would be prefered, if possible. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer! -Marc -- “There is no shame in being who you are. Re: ipad first gen not charging on computer?
Hank, Gosh, a lot of responses, yet, none that comment on this fact that Apple have conveyed since the release of the iPad1, I should just add, that this is certainly not the case with the iPad3, and I believe even the iPad2. I have owned all three, but, cannot recall with the iPad2, but, do remember it certainly being an issue with iPad1. iPad1 will charge from a computer USB port, but, slower than from a mains outlet. The iPad1 when connected to USB will charge, however, only if it is either switched off or in standby mode, if you unlock the iPad1 to use it, then the charging cycle is interrupted. So, if you plug it into charge from your computer USB port, you will note that it begins to charge, however, if you unlock it, to check battery status on the device itself, you will note that it states battery level only, and not that it is charging. This is because by unlocking it, you have interrupted the charging cycle. This is what Apple themselves told me during several conversations about this issue. Re: Urgent jail break help
You say that you've restored the phone and re-jailbroke it and still doesn't work. How about doing a restore, no jailbreak and see if the problem persists. I don't really see how just a jailbreak could cause this issue, probably something got out of wack with the ipod database but who knows. I've not had any problems so far sense I jailbroke a few days ago. Also, the packages you installed right before you started having this problem would probably be helpful. Take care. Re: ITunes and CopyTrans manager
Hi, No jail break is needed. if you never had iTunes on your PC, just install the copytrans drivers from the link below. or, if you do have iTunes installed, and have removed it, the drivers may be still installed, so just use the copytrans manager. if the drivers are needed it will let you know. let me know how it goes. p.s. If jaws gives you any trouble, use the free system access from http://www.satogo.com no installation, it runs through the internet. Did you listen to the podcast using system access and copytrans manager? if so, its the same using Jaws. here are some things to know: 1 when you first start copytrans manager, if the welcome screen appears. there will be a checkbox, press the spacebar to check it so it want appear again. now press the escape key. wait about 12 seconds to connect to your iPhone. 2 Jaws should say main tab. press insert+PageDown to here the status bar. it should read the amount of space on your iPhone. now press tab 4 times from the main tab to reach the list of files on your iPhone. if this does not work, 3 minimize to the desktop and alt+Tab back to copytrans manager and listen for jaws to say main tab. now tab 4 times to get to the list of files. Here you can press the applications key then up arrow to the add button. this is how you add files to your iPod or iPhone. from the list of files, you can tab 2 more times to get to the play lists, I call this the device list. pressing up and down arrows will list your iPhone name, applications,as well as any playlists on your iPhone. after stopping on the playlist you want, press shift+Tab 2 times to get to the list of files. Here is a visual picture to keep in mind, the playlists is on the left side of the screen the file list is on the right side of the screen. if you are in the file list and want to get to the playlists, press Tab twice. and its the opisit if you are in the playlist and want to get to the file list, press shift+Tab twice. -- Subscribe to my PodOmatic podcast feed http://musicmaker365.podomatic.com/rss2.xml or visit the podcast page: http://musicmaker365.podomatic.com/ If you dont have iTunes installed, download the drivers the drivers can be downloaded here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3387062/CopyTransDriversInstaller%20v1.013.exe get copytrans manager version 0979 from https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3387062/CopyTransManager.exe -- Subscribe to my PodOmatic podcast feed http://musicmaker365.podomatic.com/rss2.xml or visit the podcast page: http://musicmaker365.podomatic.com/ Thanks, Rob You can leave me a voice mail or fax at 206-426-3505 Subscribe to my PodOmatic podcast feed http://musicmaker365.podomatic.com/rss2.xml or visit the podcast page: http://musicmaker365.podomatic.com/ Thanks, Rob You can leave me a voice mail or fax at 206-426-3505 "God is good all the time, & All the time God is good" On 7/7/2012 6:51 AM, John Diakogeorgiou wrote: Does the phone have to be jail broken to use this? Re: ITunes and CopyTrans manager
No, the phone doesn't need to be jailbroken to use copytrans. Like I said though, you do need the driver package which you can locate in either the itunes executable or his archive he posted. I'll poke around and see if I can find the link if he's still got it in his dropbox and it's ok with him. Along with that link, he also did a pretty neat podcast on how to access it with sa2go so you may want to take that into consideration. It seems that a plugin of sorts is floating about for NVDA that gives sa2go access but I've yet to try it out. Take care. Dropvox showing in folder
I just started using this last week. I have had Dropbox on my phone for a long time and use it with an editor program Elements. My Dropbox folder has an Elements folder, and I can access files and folders either by opening Elements or opening Dropbox and then the Elements folder. When I ask Dropvox to save files in the Elements folder, in a subfolder I named Recordings, I can only access those saved files by going through Dropbox, Elements and then Recordings. If I just open Elements and then the Recordings folder, no files show up in there. Any suggestions will be most appreciated. I would like to eliminate the extra steps to get to my saved recordings. One quick additional question re: Dropvox is what time limit is there on recordings? Many thanks and a great weekend! (I suppose everyone has weekends...) Re: saving battery?
Don't forget to turn off location services when you're not using that feature. It also drains battery power. You may want to look for an external battery like the Mophie Juicepack Boost I purchased. There are doubtless better options for portable batteries but they'll cost more. Hope that helps. Good luck on your trip. Re: ipad first gen not charging on computer?
This is what I heard, they might trickle charge, but should be hooked to an ac adapter to hcarge in a reasonable time. - Original Message - From: "Jon Pierson" To: Sent: Saturday, July 07, 2012 6:41 AM Subject: RE: ipad first gen not charging on computer? Hi, I may be wrong but remember hearing somewhere that iPads are not supposed to charge that way but will accept data, thus the reason for a USB hookip. RE: Spotify, Header More buttons In Track Lists?
No, it does not indicate more tracks. It's actually a kind of menu that reveals more options like "add track to playlist" etc. But VO won't read these options when you flick. To locate them you need to explore the screen with your finger and VO will announce them. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Al Puzzuoli Sent: 7. juli 2012 04:56 To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Spotify, Header More buttons In Track Lists? Hello, Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on how these header more controls actually work. If one appears as the last item in a list of tracks on an album, does that mean there are more tracks available? If I double tap on the header more button, VO indicates that it is selected, but it doesn't appear to advance the track list. What am I missing here?
