From what I understand this may not be accurate. VLC clearly says that it downloads to your iPhone and also a wifi connection can be used so that music is uploaded. When I did this it was clear that space was being taken up on my actual iPhone. You could try the item chooser (2-finger triple tap) after you open the pop-up, if the over 300 items get pulled into the item chooser you could search for something in particular. If the website/webform is something public you could let me know where to find it and I could try it. dropbox has its own music player for playing a whole folder of music in your dropbox folder. If you are asking if there is an app that will allow you to place music in dropbox to the actual music app on an iDevice then I have yet to run across it. This is specifically for use with vlc. For example, you will not find music uploaded with vlc listed when you open the music app that comes with the IDevice. Hi friends, S Omething very strange has just happened, I have messages on my opening screen and it says that there are four new messages. When I double tap, it comes up with an empty list and just the edit button. I have tried clearing the search bar, does anyone know what could be going on here please? RE: Calendar Replacement
Hi, The only problem now with the VO calendar is that you can't look up an appointment or enter one while you're on the phone. I pointed that out to the developer and he responded that it would be addressed in the next upgrade. Meanwhile, while I'm on the phone, I can go into the native calendar because they synch anyway. Not the ideal situation but it's a work around until they fix it. Other than that, it's a great app that is easy to use. I believe Apple is using the Nuance Vocalizer voices, so part of the focus would be to get them to create synthesizers in the languages people want, along with convincing Apple to include them on their devices. When I go into dial phones, the last number I called is in the number field. There is a delete button bottom right, but it does not seem to do anything. How do I clear that number to make a call? Scott, thanks! I do have the latest IOS and show no updates for Skype in the App Store. So, when I go to Call Phones, there is already a number at the top, the last dialed. If I tap a new digit, it is added to the end of that number and the delete key at the bottom of the screen won't even erase that last entered digit. Maybe I should delete Skype and reinstall. Eric, Is your typing mode set to touch typing or standard? For me the Delete key also erases the numbers, but it doesn't speak the number it erases, just makes a sound, but when I check the number first, then touch the delete key a few times and check again it does show me that numbers have been deleted. Well, this is the oddest thing. I am using both an Iphone 5 and Touch, latest accessible version, whatever that is. I do have different versions of Skype. On the Touch, I have the latest Skype 4.17.0.126. That is the one I just re-downloaded and still cannot delete. On the phone, I have version 4.6.0.306. The App Store shows I do have an update, but on the phone with this old version the delete function is working. So, I am not going to update at this time. It is odd that the newer version doesn't work for me. I wonder if there is something inherent in the Touch. That too is running the latest IOS. Just one of the wierdnesses I a finding this week... Hi. If I may ask, what do you mean when you say importing from mail to iBooks doesn't work? It should have, iBooks supports epub well, indeed, iBooks are nothing more than epub with Apple's DRM. If you want something else, voicedream also supports them. The Kindle app should support mobi files. On 2nd level basics, still getting quirks and glitches; not sure how many are unavoidables due to the nature of the app. There is a question type, it is just a text box input, and there are two buttons apart from the replay one. The term or phrase require the two words with a space in between. It refuses to accept the space when pressed, yet the buttons are unmarked to suggest what you are meant to do with them to accept your offering. So they are always wrong. Pity there are so many unmarked buttons, but if you could enlighten me on that screen, it would be appreciated a lot. I'm not sure what you mean, but if you mean the text box for entering nouns, I just type the article and noun and it goes through fine. Hello All: I thought that I would write and tell you all about something I found today. There is a free app called iGrill from iDevices. This app will help you determine internal temperature of meats in your oven, grill or smoker. The app is free, however, the probes for use with the app are for a fee. The newest product iGrill 2 is coming out in May and has a cost of $99.99. Yes, I know that seems like a lot, but to have safe meats on a grill or smoker it is worth it. This device comes with two meat probes for grilling or smoking two meats at a time. They go into the meat while it is on the grill or smoker and use bluetooth technology to transfer readings to your iphone via the app. This iGrill 2 can have up to four probes (it comes with two) and you can purchase additional probes. You can also purchase a probe that will tell you the ambient temperature of the device you are using to cook (smoker for example). If you do a lot of grilling and smoking as we do, this is a great tool. I did double check with the developer prior to purchase and it is accessible with voiceover. Hope this helps someone else. According to the digital manual for my mophie juice pack air that I downloaded the optimum time to turn on the juice pack is when the phone is down to 20%. It uses up more power to keep it on charge all the time so you should charge it up and then turn off the juice pack charger again. Video to audio converter
Hello. I would like to know if anyone has come across an app which can convert the videos in your camera rolling into audio files. It doesn't specifically matter if it is MP3, AIF, AAC, or wav. Of course I realize that converting videos into audio will get rid of the video portion leaving the audio alone. That is perfectly fine with me. I have found an app called audio to video converter but it is not very voice over friendly. That is too bad because it gives you different choices of output formats. A voiceover accessible app for streaming live with you stream and or recording in interview and putting it automatically in drop box
This is Jerry Mader with a question. I would like to know if there are any applications I can use that our voice over friendly that will let me record to my dropbox account? Also are there any apps I can used to stream using you stream or Livestream? The native app shuts off voice over soon as you hit record I don't know how to get out of that even if I triple tap the home button, it will not return voice over on. Yes, someone posted about this a couple years ago. I used to use mine quite a bit; but lately, it has been more convenient to use a talking thermometer. If you cook with the lid closed, you have to maneuver the probes to keep them out of the way, and if you want to do something with the meat, they get really hot. But, if I am slow roasting something like chicken or prime rib as opposed to steaks or burgers, iGrill is a great app to alert you when you are approaching your target temperature. Hey, Paul, Yes, in a nutshell, as long as you keep the main unit out of the oven. The iGrill is a unit about the size of a paperback book. The probes plug in on the sides. If you put the probe in the oven and root the wire out, then it is fine. Jerry, I think dropvox would work for you. I just happened to download it this morning. I haven't had much time to work with it, but I think it is exactly what you want. It is two dollars in the app store. After you download it, you link it to your dropbox. Then anything you record with this app is automatically uploaded to dropbox. Sunrise help
Hello everyone, I have a question on how to use the program sunrise. When I open the application I see that it showed the month of April. After that I see the days of the week. After that I see the dates. I can not see how to change the month. I also am unable to figure out how to selext a date and open it up. Could someone please explain on how to use this application? Neal, I'm not sure if this is what you are talking about, but once you've started playing a file using dropbox, pause it and activate the button which says add to favorites. I haven't done this on my phone, but I've done it in the past when I had an iPod touch and the tracks were actually saved on the device. They weren't saved for access by other media apps, but they still played in dropbox even while I was offline. Mac, iPhone user seeks advice on iPad purchase
I've been a Mac user since 2008, switching over from a Windows-based system. Soon thereafter, I got an iPod Touch, which was followed by an iPhone. I'm an Apple guy, through and through. Happily. My question: I've been thinking about adding an iPad to the mix. Are there folks out there who've been down a similar road who have found, at the end of the day, that they don't much use their iPad? There's stuff I use my MacBook Air for -- most of what I do, in fact -- but lots of other uses I have for my iPhone. I've imagined that an iPad might sort of be an in-between device, its larger screen (and extended keyboard) allowing me more flexibility for writing, etc. Am I being foolish to think this? Or have folks who've been used to a Mac and an iPhone found that an iPad is a useful addition? I'd like to get one, but I don't want to waste my money if it wouldn't make sense. I don't have one personally, but we have an iPad1 that's sort of a family machine. I never use it. My phone is always with me, and is easier to manage than the larger screen of the iPad. All my books are stopped where I stopped them, and I do a lot of reading in Bard Mobiel, so that's important. I can't think of anything I'd use an iPad for that my iPhone can't already do faster, as it's right in my pocket. As to the keyboard, a bluetooth keyboard is a lot cheaper than an iPad and gives you even greater flexibility than an on-screen keyboard, especially as iOS now supports keyboard shortcuts. Hello friends, I have set up my IPhone to use my ~Gmail account and this works fine. As i have not used the Gmail account for a very long time, there are a huge amount of messages built up that I don't really want. I can go to the inbox and move up and down the messages etc but I can't seem to find a way to delete them all, can anyone advise me please? In the inbox list of messages, there seem to be some buttons at the bottom of the screen e.g. mark all etc but I can't seem to find a delete button. Hello, If you want to delete one message, take one finger and swipe down on the message. It will ask if you want to delete it, double tap on it and it is gone. If you want to delete a lot of messages, you will want to double tap on the edit field just under the battery status, then go through and double tap on each message so that it selects it, then you should find delete on the bottom, but if you don't see it, you can tap on move and then go to delete.
