Re: Checking in on facebook and tagging friends

2016-04-13 Thread Feliciano Godoy
Hi,
Works fine for me when tagging friends on a status or a chick in.
The trick to getting to the search field, is to double tap on the who are you
with phrase. From there, it works perfectly fine for me on the latest iOS
version and Facebook on my iPhone 6s.

Checking in on facebook and tagging friends

2016-04-13 Thread Candy Lowe
Hello everyone,
As we all know the facebook app is updated often, and therefore, things become
accessible and unaccessible with voice over. My problem is this. Up until a
few weeks ago, I was able to check into a location and tag those people that I
was with. Well, I am always able to tag my husband because he is the first one
in the suggested friends list. My problem is that I am unable to search for
other friends in the search field. When I double tap on it, nothing happens.
It is just too difficult to go through all of my friends in order to find the
ones I want. Any suggestions? This used to work fine, but, not any more.
Thanks in advance.

RE: After updating to IOS 9.3.1 Agogo does not work

2016-04-13 Thread Pinky
Hi Lisa,
Thanks for all your info. I signed up and then I signed out. I then emptied my
app switcher and turn off my iPad. Started my iPad back up and signed into the
Agogo app. Then I went into my Go channels. This is where I use to be able to
just double tap with one finger on any of my Go channels. Now when I double tap
nothing happens. But if I go up to the right corner and tap on now playing I
get a box that comes up and it has on it previous, play, Next, discover, and
more. So I have to click on play to get my Go channels to play. Whereas when I
had IOS 8.3 all I had to do was double tap on my Go Channels and they would
play. So my question to you is when you go to your Go Channels and then can
you double click on one of them in your list and will it start playing?

Ed, go to options and swipe by heading until you get to account options.
Then sign out of your agogo account. Then sign in from scratch with the
password and Email address you used when you originally set up the account.
I believe the Email addy shows by default. they can send you a link to reset
your password if you've forgotten this.

You can also reset your password from the main Agogo web site. it's
http://www.agogo.com/users/sign_in. The same process applies, only IMO it's
easier to do on a PC.

Hi. This may or may not be related to the latest iOS update.

I've had 9.3.1 on my iPhone for nearly two weeks and I noticed that starting on
Friday of last week Agogo was being flakey by not updating content in a timely
manner. It seems to have been corrected as of noon central time in the U.S.
If it's still acting buggy you might want to sign out and then back in on your
iPad. I've had an issue where things just stopped updating and I signed into
their web site on my windows PC and Emailed their tech support and the problem
was corrected in a matter of hours.

Tonight something weird happened. We went to dinner with friends and he asked
about me sending him an invitation by email to accept or decline.
I finally realized that I had entered the appointment as Dinner with George and
Sue. Nothing more. He asked if I had a sister named Sue since it mentioned her,
too.
When I looked at my calendar it said George accepted and another contact named
Sue declined. Of course she did—she lives in another state and had nothing to
do with the appointment.
So how do I prevent the calendar from sending out emails? Who knows who it has
been emailing when I put in my very casual appointments.
I looked in settings under calendar and the only thing I saw about invitations
was Show declined and I put no since I wasn’t planning to issue any invitations.
So any help will be appreciated. I would not have known the calendar was doing
this if he had not said something. I mean, I did not use last names and the
calendar sent emails anyway!
Thanks,
Sherrie Gosling

Question about Bluetooth keyboard for iPhone

2016-04-13 Thread evergreenwoods66 via VIPhone

Hello,

Are all Bluetooth keyboards for iPhone equal? I mean, do all of them perform
the same tasks? Are there some more convenient than others? I'm considering
to buy one because tapping is not easy for me. I was critically sick. I have
neuropathy, and although I improved a lot, I still have numbness and
weakness among other symptoms.

Thank you for any info.

Can anybody recommend a good bluetooth earpiece which actually fits on your ear

Re: MLB At Bat sometimes stops the audio at the beginning of a half inning.

2016-04-13 Thread Brian Fischler
I am not a hundred percent certain but I think the issue you may be having is
similar to something I go through as it has to do with blackout and commercials
not an accessibility issue. Some times At Bat does not air all the commercials
and the audio will go dead for a minute or so then come back on. I have noticed
this with a few game feeds that are out of my market. Think it has something to
do with local advertising.

Hi Rose,

I would do a full backup of the iPad first. Then go into iCloud settings and
turn on Contacts. This should make the iPad copy its contacts to iCloud. now on
your ipHone, also go to iCloud and turn on contact syncing. Then the contacts
should copy to your phone.

I hope that helps.

a few of the most recent are missing.

I can access my recent calls, and my favorites on the phone.

The iCloud on my phone has no contacts. Since the phone and iPad use the same
iCloud address I don’t understand, afraid to connect the iPad to the computer
for fear I will lose all contacts. Easy to replace the missing ones from the
past few months but redoing the whole group of them manually would be a pain.

So, if I connect the iPad to the computer and do a backup, will I get the
contacts from that to sync to my iPhone, or will it erase the iPad. Is there a
way I can somehow import the contacts from the iPad to the iPhone?

Before I do anything with the iPad I want to be sure I can preserve the
contacts I have in it, and hope there is a way to transfer that to my iPhone

MLB At Bat sometimes stops the audio at the beginning of a half inning.

2016-04-13 Thread Kevin Minor
Hi all.

This is one issue that has me stumped. I'm listening to an MLB game with the
At Bat app. Every so often the inning ends and commercials start playing, then
the app stops playing the feed. Here's what makes things even weirder. I have
my iPhone 6s Plus locked. If I unlock it after the stream stops, almost every
time it starts playing immediately, and the process continues until another
inning begins. This doesn't happen for each half inning, just randomly.

Anybody experiencing this issue, and if so how do you solve it?

>From a confused iPhone user.

Kevin Minor, Lexington, KY

P.S. the iPhone is a 128 GB phone, so I don't think lack of storeage is an
issue.

Even if you’re not on WiFi, listening to an audio stream (as opposed to viewing
a video stream) would not have a noticeable effect on your data usage, unless

Best,

Anna

OK, I am back with further to my question of yesterday.

My computer and phone have lost all my contacts, not sure if this is related to
hard disk failure and replacement.

However, my iPad, one of the original mini iPads has about 80% of my contacts,
a few of the most recent are missing.

Before I do anything with the iPad I want to be sure I can preserve the
contacts I have in it, and hope there is a way to transfer that to my iPhone
and iCloud.

Subject: Unable to enter text using braille display on I phone six

Hello all,
I have a customer who's situation I cannot reproduce. She is unable to
enter text using her braille display. The braille display is paired
successfully with the iPhone as the information on the screen is displayed
properly. However, when she goes into an Field to type, nothing happens
when she enters data. Any ideas? Thanks

Re: Contacts

2016-04-13 Thread Woody Anna Dresner

Best,
Anna

RE: bluetooth headset recommendations

2016-04-13 Thread Cristóbal
Mine just came with the earpiece which is the shape of a house key. Earhook,
different size earbuds, charging cable and little U shaped charger that you
insert the Edge into for a mobile charging solution. I have no clue what it
is you're describing unless you purchased some sort of bundle package?

I just got an Edge, and like it very much. It came with a small firehydrant
type thing that has 1 button and the top, and a pair of squeeze type buttons on
either side. I don't know what this piece is for. Can someone please explain it
to me?

Thanks in advance, Keith

I use the Plantronics Voyager edge. It's got thre mics, a dedicated mute button
and is noise canceling.
I dont' like using stereo earphones if I'm out and about as I prefer to have a
better idea of what's going on around me. This is why i opt for a single
earpiece.
It goes for around $90 on Amazon.

Can anybody recommend a good bluetooth earpiece which actually fits on your ear
and doesn't fall out? Something that would be useful to walk around with at a
conference for example and use your phone with it.

Contacts

2016-04-13 Thread Rose Combs
OK, I am back with further to my question of yesterday.

My computer and phone have lost all my contacts, not sure if this is related
to hard disk failure and replacement.

However, my iPad, one of the original mini iPads has about 80% of my
contacts, a few of the most recent are missing.

I can access my recent calls, and my favorites on the phone.

The iCloud on my phone has no contacts. Since the phone and iPad use the
same iCloud address I don't understand, afraid to connect the iPad to the
computer for fear I will lose all contacts. Easy to replace the missing
ones from the past few months but redoing the whole group of them manually
would be a pain.

So, if I connect the iPad to the computer and do a backup, will I get the
contacts from that to sync to my iPhone, or will it erase the iPad. Is
there a way I can somehow import the contacts from the iPad to the iPhone?

Before I do anything with the iPad I want to be sure I can preserve the
contacts I have in it, and hope there is a way to transfer that to my iPhone
and iCloud.

Listening to Iheart radio

2016-04-13 Thread Karl Smith
I listen to Iheart radio in the mornings on my iPhone 6S and am wondering if
this effects my data usage. My monthly bill hasn't changed so I figured
either it didn't or that the audio signal was so narrow band that I didn't
hit my limit which I think is 4GB. I know I should know this but I guess I'm
not sure. Thanks for your help.

RE: bluetooth headset recommendations

2016-04-13 Thread Cristóbal
I use the Plantronics Voyager edge. It's got thre mics, a dedicated mute button
and is noise canceling.
I dont' like using stereo earphones if I'm out and about as I prefer to have a
better idea of what's going on around me. This is why i opt for a single
earpiece.
It goes for around $90 on Amazon.

Can anybody recommend a good bluetooth earpiece which actually fits on
your ear and doesn't fall out? Something that would be useful to walk
around with at a conference for example and use your phone with it.

RE: Question about facebook's describing pictures using voice over

2016-04-13 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Demir and Christopher,

What country are you in, Demir? Keep in mind that Facebook is rolling out this
feature, but it is currently not available everywhere. I know for sure it is in
the US and Canada, not sure about the UK, Australia and New Zealand, but I’m
pretty sure I read from some list members from various European countries that
it is not yet available there and I expect it may not yet be available in many
Asian and middle eastern countries. You might be able to find out more about
where it is available and when it will be available in other countries by doing
a Google search.

Regards,
Sieghard.

Re: After updating to IOS 9.3.1 Agogo does not work

2016-04-13 Thread Lisa Belville
Ed, go to options and swipe by heading until you get to account options.
Then sign out of your agogo account. Then sign in from scratch with the
password and Email address you used when you originally set up the account.
I believe the Email addy shows by default. they can send you a link to
reset your password if you've forgotten this.

You can also reset your password from the main Agogo web site. it's
http://www.agogo.com/users/sign_in. The same process applies, only IMO it's
easier to do on a PC.

Hi. This may or may not be related to the latest iOS update.

I've had 9.3.1 on my iPhone for nearly two weeks and I noticed that starting
on Friday of last week Agogo was being flakey by not updating content in a
timely manner. It seems to have been corrected as of noon central time in
the U.S. If it's still acting buggy you might want to sign out and then
back in on your iPad. I've had an issue where things just stopped updating
and I signed into their web site on my windows PC and Emailed their tech
support and the problem was corrected in a matter of hours.

Re: Another Agogo questions.

2016-04-13 Thread Lisa Belville
Ed, it depends. I don't encounter this behavior when browsing through
offerings added to my go Channel or when browsing through the latest
offerings in individual channels.

I only experience this behavior when I'm in the listing for a specific show
and I'm browsing through all of the episodes showing for a specific show.

for example, I can go into the news headlines guide and listen to the latest
episode of AP news with just a single double tap. But if I want to catch up
on Ap headlines and I go into the go channel guide and locate AP headlines I
experience the need to double tap twice before any entry plays.

What seems to happen is, the show title is selected with the first double
tap and then the second series of taps starts play back. Have you tried
going to the notification center rather than navigating to the top of the
list? I can do this, but I'm using an iPhone 5.

I hope this helps and that I've explained things correctly.

Hi Everyone,

I finally got my Agogo app figured out after updating to the new IOS. I
just

have one question that seemed to have changed on the app since I have
updated it. When you double tap on one of the links to listen to the
article

it use to just start playing. Since I have updated to the new IOS it does
not do this now. I have to go to the top right corner and click on now
playing and that brings up another screen to previous, play, next buttons.
This use to not be this way. The issue I have is then you have to start at
the top of the list of say go cannels and keep tapping on next until you
get

to the article you want to listen too. You use to be able to just click on
the article and it would start playing. So is this how the Agogo app
works

now or is there some place to change a setting?

Re: bluetooth headset recommendations

2016-04-13 Thread Kimber Gardner
The HBS900 from LG is a good Bluetooth earphone. I have the HBS700 and
730 which are still available, I believe, and may be a bit cheaper
than the 900 series. In any case, these are good quality earphones.
They have a u-shaped flexible collar that hangs around the neck with
the earbuds attached by wires to each end. When not in your ears the
buds can just hang down your shirt front. They are very comfortable
and often I forget I even have them around my neck. Here's a link so
you can check them out yourself. They are also available from amazon.

bluetooth headset recommendations

2016-04-13 Thread Shaf
Can anybody recommend a good bluetooth earpiece which actually fits on
your ear and doesn't fall out? Something that would be useful to walk
around with at a conference for example and use your phone with it.

Thanks

Hi Amy,

What braille display the person is using?

You might want to try close the text message by using three finger up will
close itself.

Respectful,

Scott Dollar

Subject: Unable to enter text using braille display on I phone six

Hello all,
I have a customer who's situation I cannot reproduce. She is unable to enter
text using her braille display. The braille display is paired successfully
with the iPhone as the information on the screen is displayed properly.
However, when she goes into an Field to type, nothing happens when she
enters data. Any ideas? Thanks

Amy Ruell
