How to use iCloud Drive's new sharing features - CNET
With MacOS High Sierra and iOS 11, iCloud Drive is finally catching up with
Dropbox and Google Drive in terms of sharing ability. You will need to
convince your collaborators to start using iCloud Drive, however, if you
want to share files on Apple's cloud service, a dubious proposition given
the head start that both Dropbox and Google Drive enjoy.
Still, if you've got friends and family all using Macs and iPhones, there's
lots to like about the new and improved iCloud Drive. Plus, you can now
share an iCloud account with your family for more than just app and iTunes
purchases.
What's the new iCloud Drive sharing feature?
With MacOS High Sierra, you'll see a new sharing option called Add People
that lets you send a link to your file instead of attaching it to an email
or text message. This way, your file stays put and allows for real-time
collaboration instead of emailing or texting versions back and forth.
How does it work?
On a Mac, open Finder, choose iCloud Drive or a folder you are syncing to
iCloud such as Desktop or Documents, select a file and click the share
button at the top of the window. Or just right-click a file and then click
Share. Either way, you will see the new Add People option in the share menu.
The Add People menu provides the usual sharing suspects -- Mail, Messages,
Twitter, Facebook, AirDrop -- but when you select one, it will send a link
to your file instead of an attachment.
There's also a Copy Link button on the Add People menu. It lets you copy the
link to a file to your clipboard to paste at your leisure.
 Screenshot by Matt Elliott/CNET
Does it work with folders, too?
Sadly, no. You can only share files. Actually, that should read file and not
files; you can share only one file at a time with the new Add People sharing
function.
What about permissions?
Yep, got 'em. For files you share, you can set permissions on who can access
the file (only those you invite or anyone that it might get forwarded to)
and what they can do with it (make changes or view only).
Can I unshare a file?
But of course! You can see which files have been shared because it'll say in
gray letters under or next to the file name (depending on your view) Shared
by Me or the name of the person who shared the file with you. To revoke
access to a shared file, select it, open the share menu and you'll see that
the Add People menu item now says Show People. Choose a person from the
list, click the triple-dot button on the right and then select Remove
Access. You can also change a file's permissions here, too.
Does this new sharing work on iOS devices, too?
It sure does. You'll see the same Add People option when you go to share a
file from the new Files app in iOS 11.
 Screenshot by Matt Elliott/CNET
What's this about sharing an iCloud plan with my family?
iCloud Family Sharing was introduced with iOS 8, but it let you share only
purchases from the App Store, iTunes and iBooks along with syncing calendars
and reminders. Now, iCloud Drive gets in on the Family Sharing action and
lets you share cloud space for files, photos, backups and more.
You can spring for a single iCloud storage plan to be shared with up to six
family members instead of paying for individual plans. Only the two largest
iCloud plans are shareable, the 200GB plan for $2.99 (£2.49 or AU$4.49) a
month or the 2TB plan for $9.99 (£6.99 or AU$14.99) a month. To set up
family sharing on a Mac, go to System Preferences > iCloud and click the Set
Up Family button. On an iOS device, open Settings, tap your Apple ID profile
at the top and then tap Set Up Family Sharing.

Put a shutdown timer on your Windows desktop with this command - CNET

Postpone shutting down your computer with this quick and easy shortcut.

Watch this: Put a shutdown timer on your Windows desktop with this...

1:24

If you ever find yourself in a situation where you need to leave your
computer on for several hours, but you want it to shut down once a certain
process has finished, reddit user excelhelpneeded111 has a surprisingly
simple solution. You don't need any third-party software, and it will only
take a minute or two to set up.

Create a shutdown timer for Windows

To create a shutdown timer manually, open Command Prompt and type the
command shutdown -s -t . The "" should be the time in seconds you
want to elapse before the computer shuts down. For instance, if you want the
computer to shut down in 2 hours, the command should look like shutdown -s
-t 7200.

If you want to restart your computer on a delay, use shutdown -r -t
instead.

To cancel the timer, open the Run window or Command Prompt again and enter
shutdown -a.

Create a shutdown timer shortcut

If you need to use a shutdown timer regularly, you can take this trick one
step further by turning it into a desktop shortcut.

shutdown-timer-windows-shortcut.pngEnlarge Image

Taylor Martin/CNET
.Right-click on the desktop, hover over New and select Shortcut in the side
menu.
.In the path field type "shutdown -s -t " and click Next.
.Enter a name for the shortcut (for example, "Shutdown 1 Hour") and click
Finish.

Any time you double-click the shutdown shortcut, the timer will start. To
cancel the timer, you can create a second shortcut using shutdown -a or
enter the shutdown -a command in Command Prompt.

To change the time on the shutdown timer, right-click the shortcut icon,
select Properties and change the seconds value in the Target field. From
within Properties, you can also assign a different image as the icon.

How to put a sleep timer shortcut on your Mac desktop - CNET

CNET How To - Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 1:32 PM
How to put a sleep timer shortcut on your Mac desktop - CNET
 Taylor Martin/CNET
If you ever find yourself in a situation where you want to shut down your
Mac after a time-consuming process has finished, such as downloading and
installing updates, or exporting a video, what you need is a shutdown timer.
A few applications for this exist in the Mac App Store, such as Timer Boom
and the aptly named Shutdown Timer. But you don't need any dedicated
software. All you need is this simple trick.
Read more: If you're looking for a shutdown timer on Windows, there's a
quick tip for that, as well.
A built-in power schedule
Under Energy Saver settings, MacOS has a built-in wake and sleep schedule.
 Taylor Martin/CNET
To enable it and create a schedule, go to System Preferences > Energy Saver
and click Schedule... in the lower right corner of the window. There you can
set a time and day (weekends or weekdays, too) that the Mac will start up or
wake, as well as a time and day(s) when it will restart, shut down or sleep.
As useful as the schedule feature is, it's limited in how it can work.
Still, you could use it to shut down your computer at a specific time. Just
select a time for the sleep or shutdown to happen after the process is
expected to finish.
Make your own shutdown timer
If you want a shutdown timer that's more adaptable, you only need to know a
few terminal commands.
The shutdown command will, as expected, shut down your Mac when used in
Terminal. But there are some important options that you will also want to
use to make this shutdown timer meet your needs.
. -h will halt the system at a specified time.
. -r will reboot instead of shutdown.
. -s will put the Mac to sleep instead of shutdown.
There are other options, which you can read more about in Apple's shutdown
documentation, but for the purpose of a shutdown timer, -h, -r and -s are
likely all you will need to know.
This is a shutdown timer command for 15 minutes with a pid of 842.
Taylor Martin/CNET
If you remember this shutdown command, you can simply open Terminal and
enter the command to create a shutdown timer. Some example shutdown timer
commands would look like:
. A 15-minute shutdown timer: sudo shutdown -h +15
. A 30-minute restart timer: sudo shutdown -r +30
. A 1-hour sleep timer: sudo shutdown -s +60
When you enter one of these commands, you will need to enter the password
for the user account and press return. The shutdown timer will then be
created, giving you the exact time and date that the shutdown/restart/sleep
process will occur. It will also give you the process ID, also known as a
pid, which is a three- to four-digit number.
If you wish to cancel a shutdown timer, take note of its pid and enter this
command in Terminal: sudo kill [pid number].
Create a shutdown timer desktop shortcut
If you find yourself using the same shutdown timer often, you may want to
create a desktop shortcut for the timer.
To do this, open TextEdit and click New Document. This opens a blank text
document. If the document is not in plain text, press command + shift + T to
switch to plain text.

A partially complete script for a shutdown timer.
Taylor Martin/CNET
On the very top line of the text file, type #!/bin/bash. This tells the
operating system that the command should be executed using Bash.
Press return twice, and on the third line, enter your shutdown timer
command, such as sudo shutdown -h +15. Save the file to Desktop and give it
a simple name, like shutdown. Before clicking Save, make sure to uncheck the
box beside If no extension is provided, use ".txt". Click Save.
Finally, we need to make the file executable. Open terminal and change
directory to Desktop by typing cd /Users/[username]/Desktop and press enter.
Next, type chmod 774 shutdown and press enter.
Now if you double-click the shutdown shortcut on your desktop, Terminal will
open, prompting you to enter your user password. Once entered, the timer
will begin.
If you want to replace the default icon of an executable file, click to
highlight the icon and press command + I. This opens the info page for the
shortcut. Open the image you want to use in Preview and press command + A to
select all and command + C to copy. Lastly, in the info window for the
shutdown timer, click the logo in the top left corner to highlight it, then
press command + V to paste the image.

question on ICloud backups & ICloud Drive

2017-09-28 Thread Vicki W.
I am using IOS 10.3.3 on my mini IPad II.

I have ICloud drive turned on. Shouldn't I be able to access it on the IPad to
see my files and backups, and if so, how?

Do I need to activate it in ITunes on the PC and will an icon show up on my
desktop and on my home screen on the IPAD?

Right now I can only access one backup in ICloud on the mini IPad to delete.

Thanks.

iOS 11 Maps App Card Grabber TimeOut VoiceOver Bug

2017-09-28 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Everyone,

Below my signature, you will see a bug report I recently submitted to Apple.

Please join me in requesting that this bug be resolved in a future release
of iOS 11.

Please feel free to use any or all of the following text in your feedback
submissions.

If you are a developer, please use the Apple Bug Reporter.

If you are not a developer, I strongly, strongly recommend that you submit
your feedback directly to apple at:
https://www.apple.com/feedback/

or, if you prefer, make your submission to the accessability team via email.

Regardless of which of the above methods you choose, I also encourage you to
send feedback, via the feedback utility, located inside the iOS Maps app,
itself. To do this:

1.
Open the iOS Maps app.

2.
Select Settings.

3.
Select Report an Issue. If this is your first time doing so, you will have
to agree to the terms of the feedback utility.

4.
Select Other Issue, General App Feedback.

5.
Enter up to 1000 characters of a description.

6.
Select the Send button, located near the upper right corner of the display.

That's all there is to it.

Thank you for your support.

[BEGIN BUG REPORT]
TITLE:
iOS 11 Maps App Card Grabber TimeOut VoiceOver Bug

DESCRIPTION:
In iOS 11, only when VoiceOver is enabled, the full-screen Card Grabber
display, times-out after 10 seconds, when reviewing the live route details
list.

Steps to Reproduce:

1.
Make certain that VoiceOver is enabled.

2.
Open Map and activate a route by selecting a destination and tapping the GO
button. Siri will announce a direction instruction; for example, "In one
mile, turn left onto Main Street."

3.
Single-finger, double-tap the "Arrival" label, located near the lower left
of the display in order to activate the Card Grabber which will bring up
various route options.

4.
Select Details. A directions list will be displayed. Unlike for a
non-VoiceOver user, for whom this list will remain on the screen until the
DONE button is activated, after approximately ten seconds with or without
screen activity, the list will disappear as if the VoiceOver user activated
the DONE button.

Please see attached screen recording for a demonstration of this bug.

I would greatly appreciate your attention to this issue.

Thank you,
[END BUG REPORT]

Hi

There is 2 ways that a type 1 diabetic can use their iDevice to monitor
their blood glucose levels. The first is the One Touch Reveal blood glucose
meter. When the meter is paired with an iDevice, after pricking your finger
to test your blood glucose level the result will be displayed in the One
Touch Reveal app & saved in the Health app. The second option is having a
CGM, continious glucose monitor. The CGM, Dexcom 4 uses a stand alone app.
When the G4 is pared with an iDevice the results display in the G4 app. The
Dexcom G5 app works the same way except the info in the G5 app is shared in
the Health app. The Dexcom requires some sight to operate & use. My 13 year
old son is a T1 diabetic. He has an insulin pump & a CGM. I'll answer any
questions that you may have.

To unblock someone on Facebook, go to account settings, blocking & select
the person you want to unblock.

Donna

I believe there was something in the keynote about this and new devices
coming up which do what you want.

what was really required was something that would run in the background
and permanently keep an eye on their sugar level so they could check it

Hi. Regarding for diabetics, you can keep track of blood sugar numbers
within the health app. I don't recall how to add a category level, but if
you flick through the initial hoem tab, you will see a list of categories.
One of those is blood sugar, and you can add it to your favorites. Then,
when you want to add a measurement, double tap the add data point item.
All of the information about the time/date will be auto filled, and your
focus will be in the edit box for the number.
Then hit the add or done button in the upper right; done. It's that
simple.

Thanks. Feeling rather stupid. I was on the Audible website in my wish list,
but I did not see the edit button. I wasn't looking for an edit button.
Should've thought of that.

Re: Deleting items from your audible.com wish list using the iPhone

2017-09-28 Thread Michael Feir
You need to do that from the web site which you can get to using Safari.
You need to make use of the edit button near the top of the list. First of
all, get to the page of your list where the item or items you want to get
rid of are. Next, hit that edit button. That will cause delete buttons to
appear next to all of the titles on that page. If you go to another page,
you'll need to hit the edit button again. Hope that helps.

Deleting items from your audible.com wish list using the iPhone

2017-09-28 Thread Mary Otten
I am probably missing something obvious, but I cannot find a way to delete
items from my Audible wish list. I've been into the wish list and seen the
items that I want to get rid of. I'm not seeing any sort of delete button or
anything on the actions rotor. In fact the actions router isn't even available.
If I go to the detail page for one of these items, I have a link that says it's
in my wish list, but there is no remove from wish list, and double tapping on
that icon just takes me back to the wish list. I know there was a way to do
this on the full website with PC. But my PC has long since been unable to
access the Audible website, due to the age of its web browser. So, is it really
not possible to delete wish list items using an iPhone?
Mary

Re: bluetooth keyboard

2017-09-28 Thread Andy Baracco

I recommend the Matias bluetooth keyboard sold by AT Guys, www.atguys.com

it sells for $99 and is a full size keyboard that includes a numpad. It can
pair with 4 different devices. it will work with smart phones, and windows
and Mac computers. it has a rechargible battery that is advertised to go for
a year on a charge with normal use. It is sturdy. It does not fold, so may
not be ideal for mobile use. I like the action of the keys, but realize that
this is a subjective thing. This keyboard more than meets my needs.

Re: Cut and Paste Question.

Hi Jim and Richard

You can go to text selection item in the rotor and select the relevant text
from the email. Having selected all that you want, look for the edit option in
the rotor. You can find the copy option there. And then you can copy and paste
that text where ever need it. You can also find the share option in the added
box. When double click on shared you will have multiple options and one of them
will be Facebook. If you choose Facebook the Facebook app will open

And you can choose very want to share in Facebook Be it your timeline or
some group. If you are commenting on some post, then the copy and paste option
will work

Hope that helps

Re: Cut and Paste Question.

2017-09-28 Thread Richard Turner

Jim,
cutting text from an email is impossible but copying is easy.
If they do not have "text selection" in their rotor, they need to select it in
the rotor settings.
I do not use facebook, so I know nothing about pasting their, but standard copy
and paste options ought to work.

RE: should i upgrade to ios11

2017-09-28 Thread Ron Pelletier
Jed,

Depends on you. If you are not ready to deal with the bugs, its your choice.
If you are the type of person who wants things to work correctly, wait.
Accessibility bugs don't usually get solved until the .1 version because they
are not top on their list. If you don't like to mess with work arounds, you
should wait for 11.1 which is not what came out yesterday. That was 11.0.1
Chances are they will end up going to 11.0.1 and 11.0.2 and 11.0.3 before they
get to 11.1

want to work anymore either it wants to type the ‘ instead of apostrophe.

Re: couple of questions

2017-09-28 Thread Donna
Hi

There is 2 ways that a type 1 diabetic can use their iDevice to monitor their
blood glucose levels. The first is the One Touch Reveal blood glucose meter.
When the meter is paired with an iDevice, after pricking your finger to test
your blood glucose level the result will be displayed in the One Touch Reveal
app & saved in the Health app. The second option is having a CGM, continious
glucose monitor. The CGM, Dexcom 4 uses a stand alone app. When the G4 is pared
with an iDevice the results display in the G4 app. The Dexcom G5 app works the
same way except the info in the G5 app is shared in the Health app. The Dexcom
requires some sight to operate & use. My 13 year old son is a T1 diabetic. He
has an insulin pump & a CGM. I'll answer any questions that you may have.

To unblock someone on Facebook, go to account settings, blocking & select the
person you want to unblock.

RE: should i upgrade to ios11

2017-09-28 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
For whatever it's worth, I have a 6S Plus and have 0 issues with battery drain,
speech going away and sluggishness. My phone is as responsive as ever and if by
the notification bug you guys mean that notifications aren't read out aloud on
the lock screen that for me is not such a big deal and I'm sure it gets fixed
in time. I find there is just as much or more to like about iOS 11 than there
is to complain about and I have already not kept any apps which didn't get
updated to 64 Bit, if you don't upgrade because you are holding on to some old
32 bit app which hasn't been updated in years then you are just postponing the
inevitable. But I completely agree that if you don't do well with putting up
with a few bugs and work-arounds and prefer bugs you are used to to new ones
then it's better to wait, after all, it's not like iOS 10 is bug-free.

Likely you are correct about these apps ever being upgraded. I looked in
settings a couple of weeks ago and there were 4 or 5 apps now only 2 apps not
compatible with IOS11.
SayColor and INote
Many newer apps help with colors and I don't believe I use INote much.
But I'll wait to upgrade.

Hi Ann

That's not a negative reason for me not to update. If these apps are not
compatible yet you have to fear they won't ever be compatible.
Try searching for other equal apps that are 64 bit.

RE: Not upgrading

2017-09-28 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I'm not saying it's a bad idea to stick with iOS 10 for now, but at the same
time I personally don't find the bugs in iOS 11 very serious. Of course I'm not
a braille user, if you are that is probably different, as for battery this
comes up with every single iOS update, there are always a few people who have
that issue, again I don't have it whatsoever, if anything I think iOS 11 might
be a bit more efficient.
Anyhow, wait 4 or 6 weeks until the first major update comes out, not a
so-called double dot update as in 11.0.1 or 11.0.2 but the actual single dot
update to 11.1, very often a lot of issues have been resolved by then.

Regards,
Sieghard

Shouuld I upgrade to IOS 11 or wait?

2017-09-28 Thread Dianne B Phelps
I just updated my iPhone SE last night. The setup wasn't too bad except that
I always have trouble typing in my Apple password. I did get in eventually
and don't understand why it was not verifying. I am not the best flat-screen
typest, but until I could get into the program, I could not get my
mechanical keyboard connected.. I finally got my Alex voice back which I
prefer, generaly not liking synthesized women's voices. Don't mind me, I
don't always like women book narrators either.

I did notice that when I use the app switcher to close programs, once the
programs are closed, it automatically goes back to the home screen, which, I
think, saves time. So, for me, I would say, so far, so good.

I always wait until we get notification of the second version for
downloading, in this case IOS 11.1 with a major update so that some of the
initial bugs have time to be sorted out.

Napa, Ca.

RE: should i upgrade to ios11

2017-09-28 Thread Ann
Likely you are correct about these apps ever being upgraded. I looked in
settings a couple of weeks ago and there were 4 or 5 apps now only 2 apps not
compatible with IOS11.
SayColor and INote
Many newer apps help with colors and I don't believe I use INote much.
But I'll wait to upgrade.

I would search for apps that are 64 bit for sure. The bugs in IOS 11
make me think of when all those issues were going on with 8. The
battery drain is my biggest one. I refuse to upgrade phones until that

Hi Nancy

This is my threshhold not to upgrade before a vo fix is coming.
There are really too many bugs. Battery drain by voiceover and a very slow
working ios, loss of speech, focus bugs ...
A Dutch girl I know has bought a fresh iphone 8 with ios11. and now ios
11.01 and she has got serious battery drain effect.
One Belgian and a Dutch chap updated their 5s and were nolonger able to
start voiceover. In fact vo was running but speech did not come up even not
with a hard reset and toggling. They really had to set their phones back to
factory settings starting from 0 to get their voices back.
I heard of some people calling Apple they were told not to update with
voiceover but if you do, configure your phone as a brand new iphone and
start from scratch. In that case people are reporting less bugs or
slugishness but this is eventually not true knowing about friends that
bought fresh new iphones with the use of voiceover.
Long live ios10 but I am glad for those that updated and don't care for the
bugs, I DO!

Re: should i upgrade to ios11

2017-09-28 Thread Davy Cuppens

2017-09-28 Thread Ann
I am not upgrading. Some apps are not compatible. To check your apps on your
phone:
go to Settings then general then about then applications double tap
Will let you know what apps need updating for next release of IOS.

OK, i know there has been a ton of discussion on here. It's kind of

Should i do the upgrade or hold off for a bit? It seems like over-all

thoughts?

RE: couple of questions

2017-09-28 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Keynotes are the presentations Apple does in June during their World Wide
Developers conference when they introduce the new version of iOS which in this
case was 11 and which at that time are available to developers for beta testing
as well as the one in September when they introduce the new hardware. That one
was 2 weeks ago when the new iPhones, Apple Watches and Apple TV was officially
revealed.
During these keynote speeches/presentations Apple shows off new software and
hardware features and one of them had to do with new medical devices.
You can listen to these keynotes by going to www.apple.com or if you subscribe
to any of the popular Podcasts like Applevis, Cool Blind Tech or Jonathan
Mosen's "The Blind Side" you can hear in summary and with comments from
knowledgeable people what Apple introduced and how it may effect blind users
both in good or not good ways.

Sieghard

All
of the information about the time/date will be auto filled, and your focus
will be in the edit box for the number.
Then hit the add or done button in the upper right; done. It's that simple.

2017-09-28 Thread Davy Cuppens
Hi Jennie

Thank you so much. I really use my iphone as a locked newsticker for newsalerts
and sports results and I don’t want to quit this. So, I will wait for updating
as I heard from developers and this is normal that from the update date it will
certainly last a month or more before a serious fix for voiceover users is
coming through.

Re: The apps for bose hearphones

2017-09-28 Thread Candy Lowe
I can’t answer the second part of your question, but, if you install the Bose
app it will give you some options. For instance, you can set a timer for how
long you want the headphones to stay on while not in use. The app is really
not that important, and not too accessible. My sighted husband helped me with
it. I can’t answer any questions about the wire. I probably don’t have the
same ones. I have the bluetooth sound sport and an older set of bluetooth
headphones. Sorry I can’t be of my more help.

Re: is the notification bug on lock screen still there

2017-09-28 Thread Kimber Gardner
I know this sounds strange, but try going into notifications under
settings and changing the setting for show previews. I had my iPhone 7
set to always, changed it to never then back to always and it seems to
have fixed the problem of my notifications not being available from
the lock screen.

what was really required was something that would run in the background and
permanently keep an eye on their sugar level so they could check it any time

Hi. Regarding for diabetics, you can keep track of blood sugar numbers
within the health app. I don't recall how to add a category level, but
if you flick through the initial hoem tab, you will see a list of
categories. One of those is blood sugar, and you can add it to your
favorites. Then, when you want to add a measurement, double tap the
add data point item. All of the information about the time/date will
be auto filled, and your focus will be in the edit box for the number.
Then hit the add or done button in the upper right; done. It's that
simple.

have ordered one for me, you know, that way I could have helped you out if you

Mary,

I can now flick through accessible .PDF files, I can also move by row within
tables in .PDF files. This is a definite improvement.

Hi,

You could put them in Dropbox or some other file sharing service and send links
to your family members. Or if you have a Mac, you could use Maildrop to send
them.

There is a site with both free and fee based webinars on a wide variety of
topics who have done sessions on creating accessible pdf documents. Here is
their web site and email addresses. I suggest sending them to the web
developer or just suggest they search for creating accessible pdf documents. I
know there is tons of info out there on this.

RE: Bluetooth keyboard and iPhone or iPad

2017-09-28 Thread Richard Turner
Actually, any purchase over $25, I think it is again, gets free shipping for
everyone, at least so long as Amazon is who isfilling the order.
I'm not a prime member and I just ordered $29 worth of stuff and got free
shipping.
This keyboard sounds like a good choice.
Did I read that the battery is built-in, rather than user changeable? I hope
not.

Mark posted an article about it 2 or 3 days ago, you can probably find it in
the archives, but as of that time Apple was still signing iOS 10 and it was
still possible.
It's done in the usual fashion, you have to find a site where you can download
the IPSW file of iOS 10 for your particular device (each model of iPhone, iPad
and iPod Touch has it's own specific version), then you connect your phone to
iTunes, activate the Restore button while you hold down the shift key and you
then find the downloaded IPSW file wherever you saved it on your computer and
that's it.
In this article they say you have to put your device in DFU mode for this, but
I have certainly done it in previous years without that, but it won't hurt to
do this and maybe something has changed and it is a requirement now, might be
better not to take a chance. you will definitely have to disable Find my
iPhone, though.
Keep in mind that unless you still have a backup that was made with iOS 10 you
cannot restore a backup after the restore to iOS 10 is completed if all you
have is a backup made with iOS 11.

Regards,
Sieghard

RE: Bluetooth keyboard and iPhone or iPad

2017-09-28 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I generally speaking like Logitech wireless keyboards a lot although I must say
that for my office PC I recently bought a wired mechanical keyboard.
It is also a Logitech and considered a gaming keyboard as pretty much 99% of
mechanical keyboards are designed for that. I think it's called a G710 or
something like that, it has two USB cables, but if you plug them both in it
gives you a USB port on the back of the keyboard which can also be handy if you
want to plug in a USB stick, iPhone cable etc. There just is something about
the feel and incredible responsiveness of a mechanical keyboard and in my
office it's not as if I need the convenience of moving the keyboard around, it
sits on my keyboard tray under the desk so wired is fine.

Sieghard

Wow! That was some great endorsement. Logitech should be paying you, Sieghard.
But seriously, I haven't thought seriously about getting one of these
higher-end Bluetooth keyboards, but this one just might tip the scale for me.
