Question about Siri

Hi,
I heard something on the news tonight about Siri. Not sure exactly sure what
they said, but it seemed that they might be doing away with either Siri or Hay
Siri. Does anyone know anything about that? It had something to do with
Privacy. Surely they are not doing away with Siri.
Thanks for any information on what this might mean for Siri.

Re: voicemail question

2019-04-15 Thread GARY WILLIAMS
Hi,
I have blocked some calls that I didn’t know the person. They can call back,
and if they leave a voice mail, it will go in to blocked messages. I had to go
in to my blocked messages and clear them, or delete them. Hopefully I didn’t
confuse you. Verizon is our carrier. They helped us figure it out, and from
time to time, we still have to go in and clear our blocked voicemail, even
though we don’t get the calls because they have been blocked.

Crazy problem with voicemail

2018-12-14 Thread GARY WILLIAMS
Hello,
We received a voicemail last night and we were able to play it, but, when we
went to play it again it would not play. When we double tapped on the play
button, we were kicked out of the voicemail and back to the list of voicemails.
We were able to play older saved voicemails, but not this one. We noticed that
it took a long time for the voicemail transcription to show up, and it was
after that, that we couldn’t play the voicemail. We closed the phone app, and
rebooted the phone, to no avail. We even plugged up the phone to see if that
would help and closed the app and rebooted again.
Has anyone had a similar problem and does anyone have any suggestions? Also,
can you turn off the voicemail transcription?
Thanks for any help.

Weird Thing Going On

2018-10-03 Thread GARY WILLIAMS

Hi List,
We have noticed that the list of calls in recents both all calls, and missed
calls have disappeared. Yesterday we got them back by rebooting the phone, but
today after rebooting the phone the list is still empty.
Has anyone else had this problem? I delete calls from numbers I don’t know and
block them. Can’t do that because it says empty list.
Thanks for any help or advice on this.

Kinsa Thermometer

2018-09-25 Thread GARY WILLIAMS
Hi everyone,
We bought a Kinsa smart ear thermometer from Amazon. We downloaded the Kinsa
app and followed the steps to pair the thermometer with our i phone 7. The
thermometer shows up in the list of bluetooth devices, but, when we take a
temperature the thermometer fails to connect with the Kinsa app. Does anyone
have any suggestions, and does anyone know of a number to contact Kinsa
support. We looked and there is a number to send a text message which we did,
but to no avail so far.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks.

I am going through chemotherapy and need an accurate thermometer. Does anyone
know of a thermometer that works with the i phone and that is accessible?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Apple Apologizes After iPhone Battery Slowdown Controversy | Time

2017-12-30 Thread GARY WILLIAMS
I don’t either, I’m just thankful for the accessible technology they have
provided for us. The iphone has opened up so many opportunities because of apps
such as Digit Eyes, Seeing ai, Be My Eyes and Knfb Reader, just to mention a
few. Going to the grocery store has certainly changed for the better for us. It
would be really hard if we didn’t have these apps.

In the calendar you can go and set alarms to notify you at a time such as two
hours before the appointment. If you are getting siri to put appointments in
the calendar, you still have to go back in the calendar and set up the alarms
to remind you. Hope that helps.

Voicemail Problems

2017-10-16 Thread GARY WILLIAMS
Hi Everyone,
We are using an i phone 7 with ios 11.03. Every time we get a voicemail, we can
play the voicemail, but after that the phone locks up. We can push the home
button to go to the home screen and even though the home screen is visible the
focus is still in voicemail. Voiceover keeps trying to read the text version of
the voicemail. We have to shut the phone down in order to clear things and be
able to use the phone again. We talked with Apple accessibility and they
recommended resetting all settings. They said if anyone else is having a
problem with voicemail to let them know. Just curious is anyone on the list
having the problem or something similar, and if so what did you do about it?
Thanks for any feedback on this.
Nancy and Gary

Yes, we always close the app and have rebooted the phone. We looked to see when
the app was update and it was sometimes last year. They replaced the app with a
new app and it has never worked as well as the other app. There are voiceover
problems, but haven't had the problem we have had lately. Nothing has been
bothered in our accounts. But weird things happen and it just worries me. Have
you ever heard of an iphone being hacked?

Re: I phone 7 problems

2017-07-25 Thread GARY WILLIAMS
The screen went down when I was flicking through the weather app. It also acted
weird on Safari when looking at a menu for a restaurant. I always close apps.
When talking to someone on the phone it just went to speaker. Well, to make it
a little clearer the screen locked when I was flicking through the weather app.

I phone 7 problems

2017-07-25 Thread GARY WILLIAMS
Hi everyone,
I guess I am a worrier, but we have the i phone 7 and since the update weird
things have been going on. How would you know if your phone had been hacked? I
know they were talking about the update was a security update, and there were
ways of people getting in to i phones. I have had to reboot the phone twice
today because of it not acting right in certain apps. Please shed some light on
this if you can. My screen was going down when I was in an app doing something
and that has never happened.
Thanks for your thoughts on this craziness.

Question about Apple Tv

2017-07-05 Thread GARY WILLIAMS
We just got the Apple Tv fourth generation. I know this may be a stupid
question, but do you close apps like you do on the phone and i pad? How do you
close them if that is the case?
Thanks for any help with this. We just got it set up tonight.

especially the free ones that some of you are using. We don't have a service

would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I delete my voicemail, and then I go in to my deleted voicemail and delete
that. I only have one voicemail saved and none in my deleted voicemail. So I'm

Crazy Problem I'm having

2017-05-15 Thread GARY WILLIAMS
Hi Everyone,
I am having a crazy problem with my voicemail. I have an i phone 7. This is
what happens. Someone sends me a voicemail. I am not alerted to it, but when I
bring up the home screen a message comes up and says warning your voicemail is
ninety-five percent full. I only have one voicemail message. I never keep
voicemail after I have listened to it. Is anyone else having this problem? This
has just started about two weeks ago. I have not gotten the latest update yet.
Maybe that will fix the problem.
Anyway if anyone has any thoughts on what might be going on here, please let me
know.
Thanks for your help.
Nancy and Gary Williams

Question about Thermometers that work with the i phone

2017-04-13 Thread GARY WILLIAMS
I am looking for a thermometer to take body temperature that works with the i
phone. I have heard about the Kensa, but not sure if it works well with
voiceover. Does anyone have any thought, or has anyone used the Kensa
thermometer?
