Re: Fleksy observation.
I don't like the idea of having all punctuation in one column. Think of how many symbols that would be. You'd be spending precious time flicking down just to find what you wanted. Right now, all you have to do is remember what column your punctuation is in and flick a few times instead of many times. I think the current system is worth a little memorization. That's just my opinion.. Rose Sent from my iPhone On Aug 24, 2012, at 5:06 PM, "Sean Paul" wrote: > Ok, I'd agree that the rooter idea sounds like a good one. Re: Fleksy observation.
Most of what I am hearing on this thread sounds like lack of experience, rather than a flaw in the Fleksy design. I have no problem finding and inserting any punctuation or numbers from the lists on the top row. It did take me awhile to get used to this, but now I am extremely fast, much faster than the ios key board, with symbols, numbers, and punctuation. Remember, if you manually spell out a word, after you swipe right to enter it into the text, swipe up to enter it into the dictionary. Then it will be there the next time you need it. My own suggestion, for what it's worth, would be to set up some sort of punctuation rotor comparable to the language rotor in the voiceover settings. RE: Fleksy observation.
Hi, You'd have to prioritize the punctuation according to most common usage, and as you said, it'd be a mighty long list considering that the "more symbols" option in the IOS keyboard brings up a whole screenful of symbols. I think there is just way too much punctuation to fit in a single column as has been suggested here. 1st out. I'd like to thank you for fleksy. & perhaps on the list is not the place for this discussion. Or? Perhaps it is as I'd like to see what others think of my idea. One thing I'd like to see the fleksy team implement in the next version is the ability to access all of the punctuation from the one swiping down column. Meaning that when you flick right & are on the period, you'd just swipe your finger down & all of the punctuation & symbols would be in that column. I have found the finding other punctuation & symbols most difficult in getting to. As I use the dash, underscore, number sign, etc quite a bit. RE: Fleksy observation.
Hi Sandy. Not sure what you mean by toggling the input method. As it is now, you already have the Fleksy method of typing along with using the more traditional method of tapping and holding on a character. Tapping and holding of course is a lot slower but you do get exactly what you want or at least that has been my experience. One thing I have noticed which may be something specific to my device is that I have to make the initial tap for tap and hold quite a bit harder than I do to use the Fleksy method. Perhaps you are having this issue as well? Sandy Thanks for writing here. We monitor the list sometimes, but please write to us at supp...@fleksy.com. We are currently preparing the next version of Fleksy, and would like to know of any bugs so we can fix them for the next update. My colleagues at support will help with your problem and, if there is a bug, will try to replicate it on our devices so we can identify it and kill it dead (smile). Re: Fleksy observation.
I could tell you it is all your fault, but that would make you sad. Smiles. So, have you tried downloading Fleksy again or contacting Ionis on the list. You can also write to support at Fleksy. They are very, vary willing to help! By the way, sorry to Ionis.. I know I misspelled your name! Exercising right now so cannot check correct spelling. Sorry! Re: Fleksy observation.
Hi Sandy, As we've seem on this list, sometimes a Fleksy bug only affects a small fraction of users. I believe you are one of the small fraction this time. If I were you, I'd write to supp...@fleksy.com. Explain that Fleksy becomes sluggish when you enter words manually. See what they say..
