And even if you access your Apple account from a PC you can choose to “trust”
the PC or browser the first time you use it and afterwards it will not ask for
2-factor authentication on that computer/browser combination.
A lot of people hate 2-factor authentication, but as Anna said, it’s definitely
the way to go with respect to security in today’s world of ransomware attacks
and such.

Hi Vicki,
You shouldn't have trouble restoring a backup from an older operating system to
a newer one. The problem would be if your new device were running an older
operating system.
I would set up iCloud backups and restore from that. It's simpler, and either
way, the apps are downloaded from Apple's servers. Just go to Settings, choose
the Apple ID setting near the top that has your name, and make sure iCloud
Backup is on. Then a backup will happen automatically every 24 hours or so,
when your device is on and connected to wi-Fi and power. There's also a Back Up
Now button you can use to back up the device at any time.
Then when you get your new device, choose to restore from an iCloud backup. It
will give you the choice of using your most recent backup.

The problem, I believe, is going to show up in the transfer. I
will be trying to put a different IOS version from one to the other. I'm not
certain which version will be on the new Mini IPad 5 or newer phone, but I
currently have the latest update of 12.4 on the Mini Ipad II and my older
phone.

I know that people are having problems transferring the IOS
versions with older IPhones that cannot be updated to IOS 13 to newer phones
with IOS 13. How is this problem worked around when you can't update the older
IPad or phone, but yet cannot transfer unless you have a matching version or
the phone you are transferring from has a later IOS version.

  Hope this all makes sense.

  Thanks.

to a newer phone with IOS 13.

First of all, what version of ITunes is best to use? I have both Windows 7 and
10 with JAWS 2019 or 2020 beta.

Next, what are the steps for making a backup copy of my mini IPad II or older
phone?

Third, how can I transfer this to the new Mini IPad 5 or newer phone?

The problem, I believe, is going to show up in the transfer. I will be trying
to put a different IOS version from one to the other. I'm not certain which
version will be on the new Mini IPad 5 or newer phone, but I currently have the
latest update of 12.4 on the Mini Ipad II and my older phone.

I know that people are having problems transferring the IOS versions with older
IPhones that cannot be updated to IOS 13 to newer phones with IOS 13. How is
this problem worked around when you can't update the older IPad or phone, but
yet cannot transfer unless you have a matching version or the phone you are
transferring from has a later IOS version.

Hope this all makes sense.

Thanks.

Vicki

You shouldn't have trouble restoring a backup from an older operating
system to a newer one. The problem would be if your new device were running an
older operating system.

I would set up iCloud backups and restore from that. It's simpler, and
either way, the apps are downloaded from Apple's servers. Just go to Settings,
choose the Apple ID setting near the top that has your name, and make sure
iCloud Backup is on. Then a backup will happen automatically every 24 hours or
so, when your device is on and connected to wi-Fi and power. There's also a
Back Up Now button you can use to back up the device at any time.

Then when you get your new device, choose to restore from an iCloud
backup. It will give you the choice of using your most recent backup.

  Best,

operating system.

It will give you the choice of using your most recent backup.

RE: ITunes Backups

2019-10-14 Thread Robert Wright
Vicki, the main difference between backing up to iTunes and backing up to iCloud
is that when backing up to iCloud you can set up a new device from any wi-fi.
Whereas, with iTunes you must be at your PC.

When I do a backup of my IPod on my computer with ITunes, does it delete the
previous one already stored there? If not, there must be lots of them
somewhere, what is their name and file extension? where are they stored? Are
they classified chronologically? If they are easy to find, is it ok to delete
them and free some space on my hard drive?
Would appreciate any comment/answers on this matter.
  Thanks in advance.
  All the best to all.

Re: ITunes backups

2013-09-30 Thread Woody Anna Dresner
Hi Marie,

To find a list of all your backups, open iTunes, and press Command-Comma on a
Mac or Control-Comma in Windows to bring up Preferences. This is a multi-page
dialog box. Choose Devices. All your backups will be listed there. To delete a
backup, arrow to it and press Delete. You can select multiple backups and press
Delete if you want to get rid of several.

HTH,
Anna

Re: Itunes backups on a windows pc

2013-05-19 Thread Robert Fenton
Hello:

Generally speaking, I am not in favor of single ear piece methods for assessing
audio while walking. If the traffic noise is on the same side as the ear piece,
it can be difficult to hear your GPS or whatever other device you are listening
to. For me, I prefer the aftershocks headphones which you can hear with both
ears without having either ear covered. They are an even better solution now
that a blue tooth version is available.

Hi Robert,
You will have to "unhide" a hidden folder, more information can be found at
the below link:

Subject: Itunes backups on a windows pc

Hello everybody:

Where are Itunes backups stored on a windows pc under windows seven? I
appear to have several backups for the same device stored in my machine and
I need to remove the duplicates because I am running out of space.

Thanks for your help.

you can delete backups from within iTunes. Go to preferences then the device
tab.
