The phone always gives those scary messages when it's about to reset, but *if
you're sure you have an ICloud backup,* you can reset it and then restore from
the ICloud backup in the next screen.

I don't understand what jaws or window eyes has to do with VO loading
up on the phone? It really shouldn't make a difference if it's a setup
through the phone and not using the computer. I run jaws and when it
came to setting up IOS (can't remember which one exactly,) VO worked
on my phone just fine. *shrugs* Unless I'm misunderstanding what you

You're in the iTunes store. Press F6, and you should eventually land on the
library button, if you're running iTunes 11. Press that, and then keep
tabbing around until you see a button that says something about your iPhone.

Re: iTunes and an accidentally wiped phone, helpp, help!!!

2012-12-05 Thread David Chittenden
When Window-Eyes is running, iTunes detects it and apparently automatically
activates VO on an iPhone. Otherwise, you must activate VO on your iPhone from
within iTunes manually.

Re: iTunes and an accidentally wiped phone, helpp, help!!!

2012-12-05 Thread Marc Rocheleau
I don't understand what jaws or window eyes has to do with VO loading
up on the phone? It really shouldn't make a difference if it's a setup
through the phone and not using the computer. I run jaws and when it
came to setting up IOS (can't remember which one exactly,) VO worked
on my phone just fine. *shrugs* Unless I'm misunderstanding what you
mean, of course -- that's always a possibility when it comes to me.

2012-12-05 Thread Daniel Miller
In my experiences, if she's using jaws on the pc, VO will not turn itself
on. That's only the case with Window-Eyes.

You could try triple-pressing the home button on the phone, I was under the
impression that it turned VO on for setup. If not, if you start up iTunes,
then plug the phone in, it should work. If it doesn't, try unplugging and
replugging the phone in while iTunes is still open. Sometimes Windows just
needs to reinstall the apple hardware drivers.

Re: iTunes and an accidentally wiped phone, helpp, help!!!

2012-12-05 Thread Marc Rocheleau
P.S. VO is still on the phone, btw, it just needs to be reactivated
via either the method I stated or through iTunes once your device
shows up again. As for your apps, in the setup, just set it up from a
backup (it'll give you the option.) As long as you were backing up to
the cloud, your iPhone will simply redownload all your apps for you
(although it'll be the most up to date versions in the app store, not
any non-updated versions you may have had on your phone.)
