Re: problem with ICloud e-mail and windows

2018-01-28 Thread Vicki W.
Sctach my last question about updating. You answered it! It worked great as
far as updating but I haven't test out if it helps with access yet.

Do I need to update ICloud on my phone and mini IPad as well? I'm not
finding options to do that.

Thanks again.

Without getting too Windows 7 specific, there was a Windows 7 64-bit

Hello Cliff,

I am using the latest version of the iCloud Control Panel on a Windows 7
Ultimate 64-bit computer with no problems.

Now please keep in mind that this particular PC only has Zoomtext. So, it's
quite possible that the iCloud Control Panel is not Jaws accessible.

On the other hand, if you have confirmed that the Control Panel is
unresponsive, it may be that you need to completely uninstall the Control Panel

Without getting too Windows 7 specific, there was a Windows 7 64-bit update

control panel problems. This may be the source of your issue. Regardless, I
suggest that you uninstall the iCloud Control Panel, reboot the PC, then
reinstall.

Good Luck,

I find the icloud control panel very inaccessible. You can have some success by
using convenient OCR if you have a version of jaws that has it. I know versions
18 and 2018 do.

Re: problem with ICloud e-mail and windows

2018-01-27 Thread Eric Oyen
um there might be a problem with the app specific password. in order to access
your email using a client on iCloud, you are required to use your apple ID
password. THis is the same method I use for all other email clients
(thunderbird, apple mail, eudora, etc.). I do not understand why there has to
be an app specific password.

RE: problem with ICloud e-mail and windows

2018-01-27 Thread M. Taylor
Okay Vicki,

I am going to make certain assumptions in this post so please be certain to
explore any resulting dialog boxes, thoroughly, before proceeding and use your
best judgment in deciding if the step is appropriate to your situation. Here
are the general broad-strokes on how to get iCloud mail up and running on your
Windows 7 PC.

1.
Understand that you must generate an app-specific iCloud password in order to
access iCloud mail on any Windows platform.

2.
I have never used Outlook Express so recommend that you setup your iCloud
account via Outlook 2010.

3.
Make certain that all email clients are closed before proceeding to the next
step.

4.
>From the Windows Control Panel, select Mail.

5.
Select Show Profiles. A list of email account profiles will appear.

6.
Delete any existing profiles.

7.
Select Add.

8.
Give the profile a name.

9.
Enter your email credentials and select to manually configure server settings.

10.
At this point, use the iCloud server settings that you found from your Google
search.

Finally, remember that you will have to enter the app-specific password that
you generated, not your usual iCloud password.

Good Luck,

Mark

problem with ICloud e-mail and windows

2018-01-26 Thread Vicki W.
I set up my ICloud E-mail on my Windows computer, but it will not let me change
the pop3 field to Imap.

It allowed me to enter all of the data correctly, but in the area that says
this is a pop3 server, I cannot change pop3 to imap, even though the next field
has the imap information entered.

I am using Windows 7 and I'm wondering if that isn't the problem.

Any suggestions?

Vicki
