Hello Les,

Just FYI, you don't have to touch the screen at the top right to slide down for
Control Centre or Notification Centre, touching anywhere at the top will do,
right, middle, left, it doesn't matter.
Same goes for sliding up from the bottom to go home or bring up the app
switcher, you can touch the bottom centre, left or right and slide up and it
all works.

Hi Cait,
Congrats on your new phone. Here are a couple more gestures which you might
find helpful. If you start at the top right corner of the screen and slide your
finger down, you should hear two beeps. You will hear Control Center. This is
where you can check wi-fi and bluetooth status and the brightness of your
screen. I keep my brightness at 0% for best battery life. Using the same
gesture, top right corner, if you slide your finger down until you hear three
beeps, you will hear Notification Center. Here, you can check any notifications
you have received.. You can then slide your finger toward the top of the
display and delete the notification you are reading. Swiping right in the
notification center will show any notifications you have and you can act on
each one or delete them all if you wish. Of course, you can keep any of them if
you wish. Hope this is clear and helpful to you.
Best Regards,

Les

Hi Josh, no need to tap, if you touch in that cut-out of your screen protector
and you hear any part of the status bar you can do your 3-finger swipe up or
down for Control Centre or Notification Centre if that is what you have gotten
used to. I personally have gotten used to the single finger swipe, but it's all
personal preference.

I've got a screen protector on my new phone and it has a slit in the top of the
protector I'm assuming for the earpiece speaker to come through. If I want to
hear the status bar, I just tap this slit on the top of my screen, and I can
always check my status bar. If I slide 3 fingers either up or down from the
status bar, I can access either the notifications, or the control center. It
works very well.

What do you mean by Visual recognition?

Are you talking about Face ID?

Thanks Josua. Between you and Richard, I am getting better at the gestures.
Now I have to go fight with facial recognition.

2022-08-05 Thread Joshua Hendrickson
Hi Cait. What I do, is to put my wright thumb on the lightning port
down at the bottom of my phone, then slide my wright index finger up.
If I stop a little way up my screen, I'll hear/feel tha first
vibration to go to home. If I keep holding my finger on the screen,
voice over will actually say lift for home. If I begin the gesture
and keep sliding my finger up, I'll hear the second tone that means
I'm at the app switcher. If I keep my finger down on the screen a few
extra seconds, voice over will say lift for app switcher. Good luck.

RE: voiceover gestures on the i phone 13

2022-08-05 Thread Richard Turner
It is a little tricky at first.
You need to touch on the very, very bottom edge of the screen, and do a smooth
slide up the screen.
You should hear a tone, keep sliding, you should hear another tone and feel a
vibration; lift your finger at that point to go to the home screen.

Do the same gesture, but slide farther beyond the second tone/vibration to a
third tone/vibration and lift for the app switcher.

If you start hearing the normal clicking sound when VoiceOver indicates you are
on a blank portion of screen, or starts speaking app names, you missed the
beginning of the gesture and need to start over.

If you just want to go to the home screen, you can tell Siri, go to the home
screen as well.
