Hi Warren Severin, If you use Google Earth v4.3.7, you can get Street View of an Address. Type in the Address (or if you have addresses in 'My Places'). Re: 10.3.9 upgrade help please
Hi Aurora Bob, I was faced recently with a very similar problem in that my beloved 10.3.9 (very, very stable indeed Aurora!) had to be updated. Following the strong recommendation from Bob in past postings on the list, I downloaded SuperDuper and did the following: - Copied my whole drive on to an external Firewire drive using SuperDuper. - Tested that I could boot my machine from the external drive and use all my applications. Works perfectly. Long live SuperDuper!!! - Did a clean Install of 10.5.0 on my internal drive, downloaded the updates to 10.5.4 and only installed the applications I needed for that OS version. This now allows me to return to my previous OS, complete with all my apps and data intact, by booting on the external drive. I know that this can be seen as 'overdone' or burdensome, but it suits me for what I want to do. Incidentally, you can purchase a Western Digital 500GB external drive with FireWire, USB 2 and Ethernet interfaces for around $160 when on special. To add to David's comment, I was staying in a house in Dubai recently, and that hose was indeed a standard UK 3-pin house. However I bought a Time Capsule in Dubai last week, and it came fitted with the US 2-pin type, as in the one pictured here... http://img.alibaba.com/photo/52361009/European_standard_power_cords_with_two _pin_plug.jpg Maybe UK 3-pin is standard, but there is no requirement for goods imported to comply, so no-one bothers changing the plugs? Re: MS Word page numbers - change when saving / printing
Hi Steven and WAMUG folks. This bug has been around a long time, and doesn't seem to disappear with the various Office updates. It was around long before Leopard was released too :-). From my previous tests, I found that it occurs the FIRST time you print a document, whether you print it to a PDF, or to a physical printer. On the SECOND print (to PDF or to printer), the page numbers come out correctly for me. So, I usually PDF page-numbered documents first, + check them over. If there were any other minor problems (typos etc.), I fix them and re- PDF it. If that PDF came out OK (inc. the correct page numbering), then it's safe to print it. But the first time you print a page-numbered doc from Word 2004, you'll most likely get Page 1 of 1, Page 2 of 2 type numbering if it's a multi-page doc. I haven't tried this in Word 2008, to see if it's been fixed, but it's on my to-do list before we roll it out. Cheers, Derek From: Steven Knowles [EMAIL PROTECTED] Anyone know what might be causing this? I'm using Word 2004 with Leopard 10.5.4. If I include page numbering on a Word document in the form 'Page X of Y', despite working okay within the Word document, it doesn't flow through properly to the pdf. For instance, I have a 3-page Word document now displaying Page 1 of 3, Page 2 of 3, and Page 3 of 3 on the respective pages. Save to pdf, and the page numbering of the pdf changes to Page 1 of 1, Page 2 of 2, and Page 3 of 3. Any clues? I'm finding Leopard pretty buggy so far! HeHe, I sort of noticed the opposite round here. The Street view photos are obviously much more recent than the satellite images. So you can have the surreal situation where the street view is showing a house while the photo pointer on the satellite view shows you are looking at open space, with no signs of a building to be seen.
