Hi Nichole, I'm hoping there is not some corruption in your iPhoto Library. If it didn't complete the Upgrade this would indicate there is some corruption? Check again that All energy saving preferences are set to NEVER 'Display Sleep' is set to NEVER. Try another 'Backup Rebuild the iPhoto Library' and this time select all options (thumbnails, orphaned, etc) Then if you get the message to Upgrade, select Upgrade. Notice if it does anything. Then Quit iPhoto Restart your iMac Open iPhoto See if you can export the 'Saved Slideshow'. Do you have a current backup of your iPhoto Library (before this problem)? TARGUS Laser Prsentation Remote
Hi Fols, Can anyone explain what this means? A bought a Targus Laser pointer and it CAN operate via a small USB plug in modem on my Laptop (OS 10.5.8). There is small switch inside that offers three modes: PC; Mac Keynote, Mac PPT. This gizmo operates the slides being shown ( I'm using Microsoft Power Point), the ful screen on/off. But what is happening such that it differentiates Keynote and Microsoft softwares? I chose NOT to use it to change slides, rather use my keyboard/mouse. Re: Anyone know where I can get an unlocked iPhone 4 for outright purchase?
Hi Shay, The Perth Apple Store get stock sporadically - so you have to keep calling or dropping by - which is annoying however you might be lucky. I guess you've tried asking JB HiFi, NextByte Fonezone? Re Telstra I think you might have more luck with one of the suburban stores - but again stock is sporadic. Good luck, Chris. EyeTV displayed on television set
I now have an Eye TV Hybrid device set up on a Mac mini, works OK. Is there a way to get the Mac mini and the Eye TV to display on the CRT television? The TV has only RCA, S-Video and YUV ports. We were using a set top box with it, and the set top box has an HDMI port. I have tried connecting the Mac mini to the set top box with an HDMI cable, but the output is either very poor or no signal. I suspect there are several issues with this setup; perhaps the antenna needs boosting and/or splitting. There may be preferences which are not set correctly. I have looked over the Elgato website and forums, but found no info I could use. Advice desperately needed! Re: Wait how long?
Hi Brian I'm sort of lucky. I'm not an Authorised Apple Reseller, so I source my gear when clients need it from a couple of places. They sell it, I do the work... :o) But yes,..trying to find out ETA's and where stock is,...is quite stressful. I always keep my clients informed of the info though, so they know, and I always try get accurate info on delivery and not promise things when know they won't really get there. (ie,..yeh we'll have it in 3 days. Knowing it won't really be 3 days,10 days,..) :o) Makes it easier that way. But yes,...dealing with suppliers certainly makes life, interesting. :) Kind Regards Daniel On 18/8/10 8:17 PM, Brian Risbey risb...@bigpond.com wrote: Thank you Daniel you are correct about that - must do yours in, as a supplier, too! iPhoto Library lost
Hi All Somehow, while working clearing out some duplicate photos in iPhoto 09 I managed to lose 18,000 photos (my whole iPhoto Library). iPhoto would not open and asked What photo library do you want iPhoto to use? (I have also since found my iPhoto Library in the iPhoto trash) Reading the threads for iPhoto error 9459 I see there were additional instructions to rebuild the iPhoto Library. I don't have any recommendations unfortunately, but I'm sure others will. Hi Marlene, How did you do your clearing out the duplicates within the iPhoto Application? You didn't touch the iPhoto Library in Finder (~/Pictures/iPhoto Library)? I would think you have as Peter suggest done a keystroke combination or such to move all the library photos to the Trash. If you have emptied iPhoto’s trash (note, iPhoto’s own trash, not the system trash); then it depends on whether you imported the photos directly into iPhoto, straight from the camera, or if they were already in other folder(s) before importing. In the latter case, and assuming you have not deleted the original folder(s), the photos will still be there. iPhoto detects duplicates of photos you have already imported from your camera and asks you if you want to skip those duplicates on importing. But when the duplicated photos are already in iPhoto “Duplicate Annihilator “ is the best app to use to find delete the duplicates. Duplicate Annihilator http://www.brattoo.com/propaganda/ is a good application for finding and deleting duplicate photos in iPhoto. Hi Ronni, Thank for the info. I'll check it through again when the respective kids and their gadgets are available. Thanks, Paul. Hi Paul, I did this to set my iPhone's hostname. To set a hostname for your iPhone. 1. On your iPhone tap the Settings app. 2. Then go to Network. 3. Then choose your named network and hit the button. 4. Then look at your DHCP data fields (these should be filled out with various numbers for IP address and such) and at the bottom is 'Client ID'. 5. You can touch this field and edit the data and put in whatever name you like (i.e.,: ‘Ronni’s iPhone’). 6. Then hit Renew Lease. Now go back to your router and look at the DHCP client list (hit refresh just to be sure its current). Now your iPhone's name (or whatever text your Client ID says) shows up on the router. MacBook bits
I have been given a MacBook for my ongoing giveaway project. It has had a very hard life and one of the main problems is that the screen hinges are cracked and the bushes are missing. The screen works well but doesn't allow it to close properly or remain upright when in use. Also doesn't have a battery or powerpack. Re: Anyone know where I can get an unlocked iPhone 4 for outright purchase?
Hi All I put my name on the list at Telstra Shop in Armadale last Thursday arvo and got a call the next day to say one was available. Right time and right place I guess. Apparently they did not have a long waiting list in that shop, at least not last week. Of course this probably doesnt help if you want to buy one outright. Re: MacBook bits
These guys also sell cheap MacBook batteries. http://www.laptopadapter.com.au/laptop_battery_desc.php?id=84606 I have never dealt with them though. I went with a somewhat more expensive Australian based MacBook Battery reseller.
