 Hello fellow WAMUGgers,
Do you know the origins of the idiom to "wing it"? To 'wing it'
   means
to make something up as you go along, and it originates in the world
   of
19th-century theatre when actors might be learning their lines at the
last minute while standing in the wings or were on stage and had to
   be
 prompted from the wings.
I have given you this gem of knowledge, not so it may be helpful at
your next quiz night, though that may be true, but because at this
month's General Meeting, the committee is 'winging it.'
We do not have any new software demonstrations, but when we meet, we
can all contribute something that may inspire, help or further
   develop
our knowledge of all some things Apple.

Re: [WAMUG] Tuesday's meeting

2023-10-03 Thread Daniel Kerr via WAMUG
No worries Tony, glad that helped.

It’s actually quite clever,..(in a bad way). As 1) it uses an “icon” to make it
look like it’s a System Preference to trick you into thinking it’s coming from
the System itself and so you don’t look at it in Safari and 2) because it’s in
Safari it uses your browsing history to “tailor” the pops to each person. So
say you went to your bank (Westpac), and then Dymocks to look at a book, it
will tailor the pop up notification to say “your Westpac account has been
compromised” or “Dymocks link you visited was infected, so now your computer is
infected. And so on. So each notification/pop up is different for each person.

And because it’s a Safari Notification item, most Malware/Virus scanners won’t
see it when you run a scan.

If only all these people that wrote bad things actually put their work to
good,..the world would be a better place! :)

Enjoy your day. (Pop up free,..hehe).

Kind regards
Daniel

Re: [WAMUG] Tuesday's meeting

2023-10-03 Thread Daniel Kerr via WAMUG
Hi Tony

It’s actually not a virus or Malware. So scans won’t pick it up.
It’s a weird notification and you can remove it as follows.

Open Safari.
Go to preferences. / Settings
Go to Websites
On the left hand side Go right to the bottom to Notifications. Click on this.
On the right hand side you’ll see a list of things. At the very top of this
will be one that just has a small icon but no text beside it. Click on it once.
Then click remove down the bottom.

It will then remove it and you shouldn’t get the notifications anymore
(You may need to Quit and re-open Safari again. )

But that should remove it and resolve it.
Kind regards
Daniel

Re: [WAMUG] Tuesday's meeting

2023-10-03 Thread Stephen Chape via WAMUG
   Hi Tony.

I assume you have a virus & internet protector in place ?

If so I suggest you run a full scan.

It could be your virus protector giving the message.

If not may I suggest your buy and install BitDefender.

Then ask it to run a full scan.

I have been using this for a few years and it has won the BEST award 3
   years running.

Macs are good at protecting themselves, but NOT foolproof.

BitDefender has told me a few times that it has detected and removed a
   virus.

It has also blocked unwelcome entities.

Thanks Maureen.
I’m interested to know if any member or member’s associate comes to households
or communicates online to do maintenance.
For example I have 25000 iPhotos and a bewildering number of old emails.
Kind regards

[WAMUG] WAMUG General Meeting

2023-06-04 Thread Maureen Smith via WAMUG
   Hello Fellow WAMUGgers,

I hope you are enjoying your W.A. Day. For most of us, it is a bit wet
(to say the least), and we may be spending our time indoors on our
iPads or Macs or phones doing what we can do so well with Apple
products. This email is to remind you that our meeting is tomorrow,
June 6, at 7:30 pm, and we have some informative topics to help you
gain the most from your devices, especially if you have upgraded to
   Ventura.

If you haven’t yet done so, join the meeting and see what you will be
able to do when you do.

   MEETING TOPICS

1 As usual, we will start with our Q session. So if there are any
questions that haven't been answered on the list ,or you would like to
have a more personalised answer, we will certainly help solve your
   problem - if we can.

We will be demonstrating some more tips and tricks to be found in
   Ventura mail and messages

   2 Mail
 * Unsending mail - Useful for those occasions when you realise, just
after you have clicked Send, that you didn't mean to send it to
   your boss.
 * Scheduling email - Very handy.
 * Rich Links - A way to give your email more context and detail at a
   glance.

   3 Messages
 * How to edit a message up to 15 minutes after you have sent it.
 * How to undo send message after you have sent it.

4 We will be looking at the new Free Form app which is Apple’s new app
designed for idea generation, planning, and collaboration

5 And finally. a look at PowerPhotos app. - This not an Apple app, but
it does work with the built-in Photos app on your Mac, giving you tools
to help you get your photo collection in order

As always, if you have found something nifty that works for you, we
would love to hear about it.

[WAMUG] AGM Meeting

2023-04-18 Thread Maureen Smith via WAMUG
Hello fellow WAMUGgers,

On May 2, we will hold our Annual General Meeting, followed by our normal
monthly meeting. Think of it as a 2fa. (Translation - two for one.)

The AGM will not last long and generally entails the President's and
Treasurer's reports and the election of officials. To have your say and vote
for committee members, you must be a paid-up member of WAMUG. To ensure foreign
interests with large off-shore bank accounts do not hack this auspicious
election process, we have a cut-off date after which only paid-up members can
vote. The date is Thursday, April 27 2023

Please be aware that you can join WAMUG at any time but can only vote in the
2023 WAMUG elections if payment has been received by April 27.

Now onto the voting. (I feel as if I am channelling the AEC)

To cast your vote, you need people to vote for. It's simply Democracy 101. The
task of being a committee member is not onerous. We will not be mounting
special operations to take over other organisations.

It does involve attending monthly committee meetings, but these can be done via
Zoom if members cannot travel or do not live in Perth. But the essential part
of being a committee member is giving input and ideas. You do not have to be
knowledgeable about Apple products and software - I am testament to that.

Please think about joining, even just for 12 months.

If you want to become a committee member, help fellow members and wave
minuscule amounts of power. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to
contact me via my personal email address.

Cheers,

Maureen Smith

[WAMUG] WAMUG General Meeting

2023-03-05 Thread Maureen Smith via WAMUG
   Hello Fellow WAMUGers,

Depending on when you read this, I hope you are enjoying, or have
enjoyed, this long weekend. I am letting the List know I can attend
this month's General Meeting. I thought it would clash with the other
group I have joined, the Perth Local Time Travel Group. Fortunately,
they postponed their meeting until last Tuesday.

So, I will be zooming in to hear and, hopefully, contribute to our
WAMUG General Meeting on Tuesday 7th, March. (Again, depending on when
you read this messages tomorrow or today). Zoom will be open from 7:15
pm for a 7:30 pm start.

Besides our Q session at the start, we will be looking at Parking
Apps, as we didn't get to cover that in the last meeting. Following
that, will be a discussion on how we save our photos. Attendees will
have the opportunity to explain how they save and organise their
photos, and if they wish, they can demonstrate by presenting their
screens. (Something that's easy to do on Zoom.)

The conversation could range from a digital shoebox collection to the
ultimate catalogue method using Apple's Photos app. I am sure there
   will be something for everyone.

[WAMUG] December's WAMUG General Meeting

2022-12-03 Thread Maureen Smith via WAMUG
   Hello Fellow WAMUGgers

We are now in the run up to Christmas.

 * Stores are getting busier.
 * Musak has been replaced by Christmas songs.
 * Red and green decorations abound with sprinklings of artificial
   snow.
 * And ….. it is time for our last General Meeting of 2022.

Join us this Tuesday, 6th December at 7:30 over Zoom for some knowledge
   gathering and Christmas cheer.

   TOPICS

1. This month our esteemed President, Peter, will take us through
Raycast, a free productivity launcher helps you complete tasks,
calculations, etc easily and quickly without having to open various
   applications.

1. We will also do an overview of the Version 2 Affinity Suite of
products which is proving to be a worthy competitor for Adobe. For
a limited time you can purchase a Universal Licence for the entire
Affinity Suite. Although this may not be something you are likely
to use, if you have friends, staff or children who use Adobe
Products invite them to attend the meeting.

[WAMUG] November's General Meeting

2022-10-30 Thread Maureen Smith via WAMUG
   Hello fellow WAMUGgers,

We will hold our general meeting this Tuesday, the first Tuesday of the
month. There is something else on that day but I cannot think what it
might be. Obviously not as important as our meeting if it has skipped
   my mind. (Hee Hee)
I know some members who could not attend last month's meeting submitted
questions and did not receive an answer. This is due to the differences
in styles of email and meeting communications.
Questions asked in a face-to-face or electronic meeting such as Zoom
allow everyone to interact, to go back and forth, saying "No, no,
that's not what I mean", or "Is this what you mean"? Questions asked at
meetings allow us to check our understanding before answering and
   enable others to contribute.
So if anyone has questions and cannot attend the meeting, post them to
the list. I apologise if this sounds harsh, there is no intention to
offend anyone. We can discuss such questions, but it is a moot effort
if the questioner is not present to hear the answers.
   Below are the meeting details.
   WAMUG General Meeting
   Agenda includes
   1 Q & A time - send your questions to the list.
2 A overview of the changes to Apple's books
   3 Zoom tips

That’s a very good idea.
I have accumulated too many emails-mostly of no further interest and would be
happy to delete in bulk except for those that I must keep.
Thanks again

Re: [WAMUG] October General Meeting - email saving

2022-10-06 Thread Neil Houghton via WAMUG
Hi Marcus,

I didn't see the meeting either but often want to save a few emails outside of
the email client database. One example, I run my own SMSF and want to keep
emails to/from the auditor conveniently filed with my other audit documentation.

I just create an audit emails folder within my audit filing system and, with
this folder selected in finder, every time I send or receive a relevant email I
just drag and drop the message out of the email client window (Mail or Outlook
works the same) into the folder.

The original email is still in the email system so you can delete or refile as
you wish. It makes it very easy to check the filed emails - each year I may
have half a dozen or so emails in that years audit folder which can easily be
perused just using quicklook (no need to open them in an email program).

I often do this for online orders/receipts too - I find it easier than
searching for the relevant email (even though my email is way over-filed into
folders and sub-folders!!)

I suspect others have their own systems which work for them - as do I for some
types of email - but I do find the drag and drop very quick & easy to either a
folder on the computer or a thumb drive, as I need.

HTH

Cheers

Neil

Although I cannot participate in the meeting, I would like to know the best way
to save all my current emails- just in case-then delete them (thousands)
entirely from the severs. We have both gmail and apple mail accounts
Should you discuss that I’ll be keen to read the outcome.
Kind regards

Re: [WAMUG] Fwd: Users Group Meeting

Hi Graham and Maureen,

> At the next week’s meeting could we discuss the following new features
> on Safari:
> * tab group enhancements;
> * tabs in the side bar;
> * website settings sync; and

If you are going to discuss Safari, how about adding the security feature that
stops Safari from being able to take a link to a file on another local
(mounted) disk on your network. I can't attend the meetings (live too far away)
but I'd love to find out how this is supposed to work. We are running Monterey,
and can't get Safari to open link of the type file:///Volumes/[mounted network
disk URL] without a bit of messing around.

The theory is that you go to the Develop menu and check "Disable local file
restrictions", but that doesn't work straight up.

You CAN open the files if you use "open" from the file menu, if you type in
the URL, or if you double-click on the file and it is set to open with Safari.
After that, provided "Disable local file restrictions" is checked, you can
navigate using links to the networked disk. It seems to need a direct access
first to trigger it to accept the networked links.

We've had to set up an alias to a dummy file on the networked disk that we
double-click first to open Safari in a state where we can use it across the net!

Cheers, Kaye

[WAMUG] September's General Meeting

2022-09-18 Thread topsmith--- via WAMUG
   Hello Fellow WAMUGgers

At our September general meeting, we had an attendace of six. Four
committee members and two regular members. However those who were
prestn saind they enjoyed the monthly Zoom get togethers and would like
   them to continue.

We then discussed the issue of attendance The chief problem is the time
sand effort put into preparing the meeting versus the interest that is
shown . This has been a concern even before Covid stopped our
   face-to-face meetings.

From our discussion, the following were issues we felt contributed to
   the low attendance.

People have the information they need at their fingertips, via the list
and the internet, and there may be a feeling that they do not need to
   ask.

The subject of meeting topics came up. It is a Catch-22. We are unsure
of what people want, so we provide topics we think might appeal, but
they are not the topics people want.

One attendee mentioned that they often feel their questions are too
basic; however, everyone agreed this was never the case. We all learn
from each other and can gain tips and knowledge from the answers others
give. e.g.During this meeting, we had questions on ransomware, what
hardware to use for a time machine back-up and hidden partitions on
   Macs.

We are a forum of users. (Forum = "A public meeting place for open
discussion.") and the more we contribute, the stronger we become

   The following decisions were made.
 * We will continue with the monthly Zoom meetings.
 * Before the meeting, we will ask for any questions, problems or
topics people want to be answered or discussed.
 * We will look into opening our meetings to other Mac groups.

   [1]Send Email

So, for now, we will continue with our monthly general meetings, and we
hope to see more of you there.

   Cheers,

   Maureen

The problems facing WAMUG are much more far-reaching than
   simply
coming up with interesting topics for the monthly meetings
   (although
   that is difficult enough!).
WAMUG has an ageing population, so the willingness to leave a

 sweltering
summer’s night, reduces every year. Even before Covid-19
   struck,
   our
monthly meetings attracted very small numbers - generally the
committee plus 4 or 5 others.
Covid made public meetings unviable in the early days on the
pandemic so we reverted to the online format using Zoom, and we
   have
even fewer attendees as a result.
The topic of Topics is a hot one. As long as I have been
   involved

started WAppleII, an Apple II user group) I have been asking

The problems facing WAMUG are much more far-reaching than simply
coming up with interesting topics for the monthly meetings (although
 that is difficult enough!).
WAMUG has an ageing population, so the willingness to leave a warm
home on a cold winter's night, or air conditioning on a sweltering
summer’s night, reduces every year. Even before Covid-19 struck, our
monthly meetings attracted very small numbers - generally the
committee plus 4 or 5 others.
Covid made public meetings unviable in the early days on the
pandemic so we reverted to the online format using Zoom, and we have
even fewer attendees as a result.
The topic of Topics is a hot one. As long as I have been involved
with computer User Groups (going back to the mid-1980s when I
started WAppleII, an Apple II user group) I have been asking the
memberships to suggest interesting topics for "the next meeting”. It
has almost always resulted in a deafening silence, so it’s generally
left to those of us running things to come up with the ideas. Using
this list to contribute ideas would be a good start, and while that
has happened occasionally, the opportunity to explore the ideas
fully is always hampered by the small attendances.
The suggestion of holding the meetings at one or more public
libraries is a terrific one. The one huge problem remains however:
getting people to attend, for all of the reasons already outlined
and more. We have a committee of 5, the membership of which hasn’t
changed for at least 10 years, and which fails to attract new
nominees year after year with every AGM.
It’s not just WAMUG experiencing these problems. The Queensland
group Apple-Q, for example, almost died in March for similar
reasons. I could go on and on about all of this, and I don’t want to
turn this into a lengthy essay, but the bottom line for the survival
of any group is always its membership

The problems facing WAMUG are much more far-reaching than simply coming up with
interesting topics for the monthly meetings (although that is difficult
enough!).

WAMUG has an ageing population, so the willingness to leave a warm home on a
cold winter's night, or air conditioning on a sweltering summer’s night,
reduces every year. Even before Covid-19 struck, our monthly meetings attracted
very small numbers - generally the committee plus 4 or 5 others.

Covid made public meetings unviable in the early days on the pandemic so we
reverted to the online format using Zoom, and we have even fewer attendees as a
result.

The topic of Topics is a hot one. As long as I have been involved with computer
User Groups (going back to the mid-1980s when I started WAppleII, an Apple II
user group) I have been asking the memberships to suggest interesting topics
for "the next meeting”. It has almost always resulted in a deafening silence,
so it’s generally left to those of us running things to come up with the ideas.
Using this list to contribute ideas would be a good start, and while that has
happened occasionally, the opportunity to explore the ideas fully is always
hampered by the small attendances.

The suggestion of holding the meetings at one or more public libraries is a
terrific one. The one huge problem remains however: getting people to attend,
for all of the reasons already outlined and more. We have a committee of 5, the
membership of which hasn’t changed for at least 10 years, and which fails to
attract new nominees year after year with every AGM.

It’s not just WAMUG experiencing these problems. The Queensland group Apple-Q,
for example, almost died in March for similar reasons. I could go on and on
about all of this, and I don’t want to turn this into a lengthy essay, but the
bottom line for the survival of any group is always its membership. It may be
that WAMUG ends up as just the mailing list, but even that will need
administration at a certain level. Personally I would hate to see this happen,
but unless we can attract new blood and new energy to the group it seems our
eventual demise is inevitable, and will happen sooner rather than later. The
suggestion of moving away from regular monthly meetings to less regular but
more focussed ones is an attempt to stimulate more interest, but as always, we
need active participation from the membership to make them worthwhile.

Wendy’s contribution is a good start. While it is true that the growth and
continuing increase in sophistication of the Internet have tended to reduce the
relevance of computer user groups in recent times, people of like mind and wi

   Some good points Wendy.

I have always wanted to come to the meetings but circumstances have
   made it difficult for me.

I live in the Swan Valley and I am 75 years old.

I am very nervous about driving too far at night, especially in bad
   weather.

Consequently I have never been to a WAMUG meeting.

Several times I have tried to join the Zoom meetings, but something
   always crops up.

Usually family or friends clashing with the meeting time.

And that is something I do not regret because I feel lucky in that
   respect.

Most events of any kind that I attend are in daylight, but I realise
that would not suit working people.

But I really do hope that WAMUG continues (even without meetings)
because I feel it is invaluable.

Perhaps the idea of meetings when necessary is not a bad idea.

PS: Just my little winge really.

I notice the lack of postings since we insisted that only financial
members should be allowed to post and reply.

So many seemed to be annoyed about paying a fee that I was shocked.

   For $30.00 per year ….. REALLY !!

So now we have way less communication than we ever had.

And I find that very disappointing.

However, we should never let that put us off.

I feel that we have some very dedicated volunteers running the group.

And I am very thankful for that.

Hello Fellow WAMUGgers,

I hope you have had a relaxing long weekend. Now the WA Day celebrations are
over it is time to focus on the normalities of the week, among them being our
monthly Members’ Meeting.

The topic for this week has a ’holiday’ feel about it. We talking about a
Safari. Not the African variety more the orchard kind. (Apples specifically.)
We will be looking at how you can extend your Safari as well as investigating
Tab Groups, Pin Tabs, and the Translate function.

If you are like me and keep using computer and software tools that you always
use because you just don’t have the time to explore, this could be a meeting
for you.

As usual, it will be via zoom. There will be opportunities to ask questions
that may not have been answered on the list, or any others that come to mind,
at the beginning of the meeting

Hello Maureen
You might recall the name?  I used to go to meetings but . . . no
excuse really!I renewed my membership though!

Wearing your Committee hat I wonder if you could help me?
I am wanting to create a photo book on my Mum's life.  I've started
but I know there is an easier way.
My 'Photos' is in disarray and I wondered if you could recommend
someone I could see for a couple of hours;to bring me up to date
and secondly to show me easier ways of doing things.
I'll pay for the time of course.

I live in Bull Creek and so to keep my carbon footprint low I'd prefer
someone south of the river.
Many thanksWendy

[WAMUG] April's general Meeting

2022-03-22 Thread topsmith

Hello Fellow WAMUGgers,

As I mentioned in an earlier post, this month’s general meeting as
will be be devoted to musescore.  musescore software is not
affiliated with Apple so what will be demonstrated may be of interest
to anyone who sings, studies or plays an instrument regardless of the
operating system they use. And did I say it was free to download?,
So if you know of anyone who may be interested, pass on the
invitation.

TOPIC: musecore - for anyone who who plays, sings or creates music,

FURTHER INFORMATION: musescore allows you to create, playback and
print beautiful sheet music. This open-source software is available
for Windows, Mac and Linux. We will be looking at the free version and
demonstrating how to produce sheet music and use the software to
transpose music.

Members who use this software find it gives professional-looking
music scores and continually improves

There is also musescore.com. This is a community site that shares
sheet music via the web . musescore.com. also has mobile apps for iOS
and Android. The site offers free accounts but has a pro account for
those who want more.

[WAMUG} General Meeting update

2021-11-01 Thread topsmith

Hello Fellow WAMUGgers,

It was remiss of me not to include the following information
regarding tonight’s meeting

Peter H will be also be demonstrating the use of Pivot Tables in
Numbers. For a while now, Excel devotees have lauded the fact that
they could use Pivot tables. Apple’s spreadsheet, Numbers, din not
have this functionality. However things have changed. Apple has
recently added this functionality to Numbers.

What are Pivot tables you may be asking? Pivot tables allow you to
analyse any set of data, quickly group and summarise values, and
identify interesting patterns and trends. It may well be something you
didn’t realise you needed until you see it in action.

Hope to see you on Zoom.

Cheers,

[WAMUG} WAMUG General Meeting

2021-11-01 Thread topsmith

Hello Fellow WAMUGers,

Once a year, on the first Tuesday in November, Australia hosts "the
race that stops a nation."  But, every first Tuesday, 11 months of
the year, WAMUG hosts "the meeting that stops , or is it pauses, or
perhaps temporarily withdraws a small group of individuals."  So you
are invited to the WAMUG General meeting via Zoom.

Time: Nov 2, 2021 07:30 PM Perth

We will be revisiting last months topic the 'pocket knife for
pictures' app, GraphicConvertor. Presented by Peter H, this software
is an all-purpose image-editing program that can import 200 different
graphic-based formats, edit the image, and export it to any of 80
available file formats, plus do a lot more.

So if you are wishing you could add some pizzazz to your photo
editing zoom in and join us tomorrow evening.

Cheers,

Maureen

 Hello Fellow WAMUGgers,
Please accept my apology for the mucked up  meeting tonight.,
Tuesday. I my rather weak defence, I was try to be efficient and set
up the meeting on Sunday evening. Then being even more efficient, I
sent out the invitation shortly afterwards  I then sat back and
congratulated myself on a job well done.  But there was one tiny flaw
in in my grand plan of efficiency.  I had set the meeting up for
Sunday.!!! Ugh
So for those of you who were unable to connect we will be reconvening
the meeting on the first Tuesday in September. It was too difficult to
reset a meeting on the spot.
However, there is silver lining. One thing we can learn from this
event, or non-event, is that  WAMUG accepts all levels of computer
competency.

It’s a major snafu. I’ve just spoken to Maureen who is profusely apologetic.
She doesn’t know how it happened, but somehow the meeting ID got all munged up
and thinks the meeting was scheduled for 1 August. It also doesn’t help that
Maureen wrote Tuesday, 2 August in her email…

She will be contacting everyone with alternative details.

Cheers,

Peter

[WAMUG} WAMUG General Meeting

2021-07-05 Thread topsmith

Hello fellow  WAMUGgers,

I saw a meme last week that spoke volumes for how my week was going.
It was  a cute photograph of a duckling with the following words
underneath,

“ My ducks are absolutely not in a row. At this point I have no
idea where my ducks even are.”

Well I am pleased to say this week they have come home to roost and
although the line is not orderly, they are in line. This means the
information I am sending  this time,  is true and correct.  We
will hold our weekly meeting this Tuesday via Zoom. Details are below.

Hi Maureen
Due to senility on by part I have managed to pay my wamug annual fees twice!
This is not a problem and I’m happy to leave it so and use the extra payment as
an early payment for next year.
I would appreciate that this is recorded somewhere for future reference.
Kind regards

[WAMUG} AGM Meeting

2021-05-31 Thread topsmith

Hello Fellow WAMUGERS

Firstly, an apology for the confusion regarding last month’s
meeting or lack thereof.  Due to a death in the family, Peter S & I
were unable to organise or attend last month's meeting. The committee
agreed to not hold the general meeting for that month and a notice was
to be sent to the list to advise members. But .  the stars did
not align for us in early May.

Peter H blissfully sent the information to the list only discovering
much later the message never arrived and is probably now in deep space
causing some alien life form considerable amusement or
consternation.

However we are all on board for this week’s meeting which includes
our AGM. Below is the Zoom invitation.

[WAMUG} March Member's Meeting

2021-03-01 Thread topsmith

 Hello all WAMUGgers,
I hope you have had relaxing long weekend. With my thoughts turning to
the working week, I remembered we have another members meeting
tomorrow evening.
This month our resident expert, Peter Hinchcliffe, will be continuing
our understanding of that little gem Pages. He will be focussing on
Page Layout. Layout allows users to create documents with a more
custom design, like newsletters, books or posters. A page layout
document is like a canvas that you add text boxes, images and other
objects to, then arrange the objects on the page however you like.
In February we briefly looked at Pages and Numbers. So, If you have
any questions regarding the use of either piece of software you can
bring them up at the meeting and we will endeavour to answer them.
The second topic will be a continuation of our Digital Legacy series
started in 2020 At this meeting we will be concentrating on your
passwords and social media legacy. V
A link to the Zoom meeting is following this information. If you do
not receive a link but wish to attend please email me off list.
Cheers,
Maureen

  Hello Rosemary,
I am so sorry you missed the meeting. I am not sure what happened.
Zoom has changed a few things since we last met so perhaps there was a
box that needed to be ticked or setting that we needed to adjust.
Possible reasons 1 Did you get a confirmation email with the details?
After you register you receive receive a confirmation email
containing information about joining the meeting. If my memory serves
me correctly, it has been 3 months since I last set up a meeting,
back in 2020 you could  just click the URL link and it would let you
through
2 When the meeting started I went into share screen mode and
therefore did not have access to the information necessary to let
people in.  I was under the impression allowing members to join could
be done by another Committee members but that obviously didn't work.
At  our next committee meeting we are going to do it via Zoom, but
in the same room: a physical, in realtime, virtual meeting. Who says
WAMUGgers are not innovative.?
By doing it this way we can explore things together, but
more importantly, see what how an action by one person is experience
by her/his audience
Again apologies for the muck up, Videos of the evening should be
available by the end of the week.
 Cheers,
 Maureen Smith
